“Machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water inside a mesh laundry bag”
Yeah right. Blankets at my house get put through the laundry gauntlet just like everything else. Life never gave me a “mesh laundry bag” and you don’t get one either.
@melonscoop The blankets I take out of my washer look a lot like these. Though they didn’t look like that when I put them in.
The only mesh I have is in my router. Would that help?
@Tadlem43 The weave does not look tight enough to call it microfiber. Likely why they are calling faux linen. It is acrylic vs polyester. I believe acrylic traps heat better but is less durable than polyester. Poly is better at wicking moisture. So I guess acrylic may be a better choice for a throw?
@awk The real sport would be in catching them, if they are running.
I’m sure the safety cutoff could be defeated / locked into position.
(Not any riskier than free-style motorcycle somersaults?)
Win, and I do mean win, these catch on fire, they will be terrible for you, and melt all over your skin, it will hurt really bad, that’s a lot of commas, huh?
I’ve always been a texture person, and I’ve tried a bunch of blanket types on my own as well as at friends’ places.
These seem like they’ll be good as decorative throws, but too thin to be what I consider cozy/warm. And frankly, once I used a quality high-loft fleece blanket, I started keeping my eye out for sales and donating other types. It just doesn’t get better for me. And comments from friends/partners indicate others feel the same.
That said: the cotton-only mafia here is…weird. Cotton is great for some things, but a high quality fleece is both more insulative and softer to the touch. People talking like this is doused in kerosene and just waiting to catch fire/melt their skin are quite imaginative.

@melonscoop Acrylic fiber is toxic and carcinogenic
@melonscoop Clearly you are neither the blessed husband of a godly woman, nor one yourself. Sad.
I just spent money here. Why do they put nice blankets next?? My whole paycheck is gonna go here
Mesh laundry bag not included. Is that an oversight, or will that be in the next mehrathon?
@phendrick It will be on Morning Deal or Side Save next week.
@phendrick @yakkoTDI Naw, straight to the IRKs.
Microfiber?
@Tadlem43 The weave does not look tight enough to call it microfiber. Likely why they are calling faux linen. It is acrylic vs polyester. @ponagathos Thanks. I hate microfiber.
Misread the title as “2-pack: throwing chainsaws” and I think a new sport needs to be invented.
edit: apparently it already exists? wtf

Fringe is listed as one of the “styles”, but I see they all have it. WTF…I hate the unfinished look of fringe…on anything.
@detailer any fringe trim i have on anything i own gets chewed up and spat out by my cat. yeah, i’ll pass!
My love is just a throw away.

first, there was faux fur, then faux leather, and now Faux Linen. There will be a time when nothing is genuine.
@werekong then it will be genuine faux
@werekong Faux no!
@hap46st, @hchavers Soon it will be Faux Faux.
@werekong Don’t forget the faux hawk!
You know we want cotton. But until people stop buying this crap, I guess you’ll keep selling it.
POLYESTER AGAIN! As if we needed more plastic in circulation. FOH
Silky Linen Acrylic Polyester. Got it
I strongly dislike microfiber and acrylic poly anything.

@bugger and when I say win, I mean when. You can say that these will definitely keep you warm, no matter what!

This thing would last 5 minutes in a house with cats.
@DublinDoodah That’s actually longer than for a lot of things.
