@jaybird@ParadisePete Lame. My Asus phone comes standard with a 65 watt charger. My Samsung goes into “super fast charging” mode when plugged into it. I’ve been trying to find a knockoff that will charge a phone at 65 watts, but no dice.
@Paintballfreak If your phone is actually drawing 65W, then this item should charge it. But you’ll need to have a USB-C cable that supports those speeds (probably Power Delivery 3.0, but you should confirm that). I was having trouble getting the maximum charge rate out of my 65W Anker charger, and it turned out that the cable was the problem.
The physical presence rule is rejected as unsound and incorrect. States may charge sales tax on out-of-state purchases, even if the seller does not have a physical presence in the taxing state.
TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis quietly signed into law late Monday a bill that will cost Florida consumers who shop online an estimated $1 billion a year in sales taxes, with the money used to cut business taxes.
@irenegade@SaintO Actually the product info for this one LOOKS pretty good. The construction seems small and efficient. It actually lists specs of output voltages and currents for both ports. And nice marketing images. If I had even 75% confidence that the Amazon one was all legit, I’d say it seems like a good product, likely better than the Meh one today. but because it’s a no-name brand from a verylongnamedthirdpartyseller, I just don’t know. Though I have similar doubts about the Meh product from a no-name brand. But the seller Meh has only 3 letters so maybe that’s better?
@blaineg the Walmart link above says it is UL listed. Also says the ports are shared so if both ports are in use, the 65watt one will produce only 45 watt charging.
Anyone know about USB Power Delivery PPS ? Apparently this is required for optimal fast charging the Google Pixel I’m thinking of upgrading to. Or will these 30/65 Watt ones compensate for the difference with the higher watts?
They seem to be pretty ambiguous about the wattage of the PD ports. Some (lots?) of these dual chargers don’t deliver the full wattage on the PD port and make up the difference on the USB-A port.
IAC, I trust my expensive devices with Anker chargers. I’m not sure if there is a risk to using an unknown brand but don’t care to find out.
Edit: The Walmart listing has a picture that shows 45w USB-C and 18w USB-A. Which almost adds up to 65w.
@HankB33 I just bought a 65W Anker Nano II (GaN). It’s not much bigger than a Fidget Cube but charges my work laptop at full speed. Anker does amazing things.

Why buy the 30watt?
@bigkiskewl it’s cheaper.
@bigkiskewl It’s smaller and lighter. If you’re charging a phone there’s no benefit to using the bigger one.
I agree with the above!
I’m not familiar with this brand, how flammable is it?
@awk They are completely inflammable. So we’re good.
No, wait.
Should have done a one-and-one pack… Give me all kinds of decision panic…
And what if I want to charge my phone with a 65 watt? Is that not allowed because the write-up says so? You guys are getting kind of bossy.
@jaybird
YOUR HEAD ASPLODE
@jaybird Your phone won’t draw 65. You’ll get whatever the max is for your phone, which is probably less than 30.

@dannokun That’s some classic meme reference right there.
Sexy promo video…
Charger porn??
Since when do you guys charge sales tax in Florida? Is that new?
Edit: does this mean we have a new morningsave store coming to us?
@jaybird I wish!!
@jaybird Since 2018:

@jaybird @narfcake so, unsurprisingly, the state of Florida is to blame, no?
@jaybird @mehvid1 Correct. This was last year:

I mean, now I can forget one at home and still have 3 in my bag!
/giphy torrential-depressed-goat
@dasred I really was sure the gif would contain a goat, I’m not displeased though.
If I didn’t have a 100w usb-c charger from some unknown brand, I still wouldn’t buy this 65w usb-c charger from some unknown brand.
You know, there are other computers besides Macs, and there are other mobile chips besides Qualcomm.
I like how the metal that goes into the wall hole folds into the magic power box.
Get me an Anker One.
@givemeyoursoul Amazon has some Anker chargers on sale today, but I don’t know if they’re good deals or not.
So there are no cables included?
/buy --Wattage 65W
@Pufferfishy It worked! Your order number is: common-hulking-teeth

Just bought a 65W version for $16 w/ a 3’ USB-C cable off that river website yesterday. Do better meh!
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MRPVJFB
@SaintO hmmm… sold by “wanzaixianyuanxubaihuodian”
@pmarin just like at the grocery store, you get a choice of packaging, not necessarily a choice of product, but hey YMMV
@SaintO and the 2nd USB A port is allegedly 30 watts as opposed to 18 on this offer.

UL certification?
ANY safety certification?

@irenegade Never mind! I think I found the answer. PD3 includes PPS

The Amazon link is for a different product.
@HankB33 Well, the product page does say “for 2 similar at Amazon”
But definitely not the same product.
