@kuoh The battery life was twenty minutes before I needed a recharge. I'm not sure about the sound quality. How good of sound quality does one need in the shower? I used it to listen to the news. I am now using the BEM cube perched above the shower and that is working really well. I can go a week without recharging.
I have one of these - they are pretty good. The rubber is a little tacky so they get grimy. The sound is ok and you can use them as speaker phones. More of a novelty for kids - fun to stick on things and go "look - my speaker is stuck to that smooth thing"
@thismyusername Can you please 'splain what you mean by that? I've had trouble logging in to Meh for about a week now, and I'm talking about 9 am EST. Is it not me and my special undetectable malware infection? That would be swell.
@thismyusername@OldCatLady Thanking you both, I am, although it was a chore just to get logged in to do that! Clicking on the link to this thread from my email takes me to a login screen that doesn't go anywhere. Silly Irk.
Well fuck. Here we go again, like a moth to a flame we find ourselves at the corner of impulsivity and temptation as we arrive at that dark alley next to that janky ass pawn shop. Twofer Tuesday emerges from the shadows, her whole body covered in speakers. She mutters softly, as you quietly here, "I am the speaker dock." She gets louder, "become the speaker dock, IT IS YOUR DESTINY!" She immediately begins throwing speakers at you and you can't help but get covered in them. You realize that there is no better life, than being a speaker dock. We are all now speaker docks. Embrace destiny.
I have a different brand one that looks exactly the same. It's pretty good for what it is, something really small and convenient to emit noise while you're doing yard work, at the beach, etc. This is a pretty good deal even if you have to pay shipping.
@RedOak Definitely as a kickstand. Would also work for most phones. I'd imagine the sound would be slightly better, though it would be emitting it away from you if used as a kickstand. Put it near a wall so it bounces back.
Well, finally some waterproof music I can stick on down where I tie up my boat. It'll be nice to have that when I cast a few lines and enjoy a beer, and when it's time to do the end-of-season maintenance in another month. Yes, it looks like thanks to Meh I will finally have a speaker dock.
@Pufferfishy - right, but it's just 'dolphin', no 'fish'. :) And that one is small, maybe going 10#'s, so barely over being a "peanut", he's still just a 'slinger' (no need to grab him by hand, just sling him off the gaff into the boat/fishbox). It's a 'him' due to the blunt forehead; females have sloping foreheads. There, some priceless knowledge, to go along with your cheap Meh "waterspeaker". ;)
glamorize-malleable-mimosa -- my very first purchase here-on/at/abouts -- of 4, because as others have said, just 2 feels like I'm failing to take advantage of a great deal, but I can't imagine finding a way to use 6. Popped for the VMP while at it, so now I'll feel obligated to find something more to buy in days to come. Come-on, Mehnizens, don't make me regret it!
Received my order today. 4 speakers, 4 colors (Black, Zombie Green, Blue, Purple).
Paired one up to the TV. I have to say... I don't hate it. This is the first Bluetooth device I've owned, and I have to say... it's the best $3 Bluetooth speaker I have! It'll be perfect for watching TV later in the evening without having to turn up the volume and disturbing anyone.
Got mine, Purple and red! Stuck it to my forehead and used it paired to my phone to talk to my daughter. She said the mic picked up better stuck to my forehead than it did while I was holding it. I'm sure I looked pretty fab too.
Got mine as well and they don't sound half bad for costing only $3 each. Even better, I charged one up fully and let it play some random pop music over bluetooth at one notch below max volume and after over an hour, it was still blasting away. Might get a couple of more as gifts if they come up again at the same price.
I got these before the flash drives and they are kinda fun. They stick well as my one is still stuck to the wall overnight. I got it to stick to my 4yr'd back as she ran around dancing to frozen songs. They I got to watch her try to take it off.
@OldCatLady Charged one up, and wow, does it do a good job. Ed Sheeran was singing right at my elbow, no distortion at all. Tomorrow is shower karaoke. Probably the Dead; they sound less worse than some.
Got mine in...wish I had ordered more than 1 set. I got a black and a red, wish it had been purple and pink but oh well. Works well for the wife in the kitchen, stuck to the microwave and forgot about it until the low battery beep started.
Got mine as well. Red and Orange. I used the red one in the shower this morning. It sounded decent. I tried to skip tracks without looking at a manual, and I found that when you hold down the middle button it calls someone.. I hung up right away and after I was out of the shower I saw that I had called my mother.. oops.. haha..
Anyone know how to skip forward on these? I never did figure it out.
I got a red and pink one in the mail today! I tried it out and it works pretty great, even accidentally got a call while I had it connected to my phone and that worked surprisingly well! ONLY ONE CAVEAT! DO NOT, AS I HAVE DONE, STICK IT TO YOUR FOREHEAD. Yeah, sure it looks cool and feels kind of good, but you'll end up with a weird forehead hickey!
Got my two. Should have bought six at this price. MUCH better sound than I expected from a $3 speaker. I can actually make out bass-lines, and trebles are clear and crisp. Obviously it's not a beatspill or soundboom or auralarena or sonicstadium or whoomptheater but for $3?! And the speakerphone works great - stick it to your car windshield and it beats the heck out of your phone's usual speakerphone.
@DMlivezey correct, you can have multiple Bluetooth connections but only one per function - like phone audio, media audio, and data like a watch (this may allow more than one). When i had the Samsung watch (which would do phone audio) my car would only pair for media audio and not for phone calls. Was annoying.
Our 4 came in random colors as promised, so thanks for that, meh.
Don't get me wrong, for 3 bucks each I'm not complaining (OK, just a tiny bit).Let's not get carried away. These are not great speakers. They function. Not loudly. Not all that cleanly. The most exciting attribute is the price.
@WTFhqwhgads Bluetooth is certainly not ideal but we're getting plenty enjoyable, clean, dynamic music in the car via Bluetooth. So no, wasn't expecting joy from these but it was due to price not Bluetooth.
Especially with small speakers, more often than not, the sound joy issue is crappy speakers, not Bluetooth.
I used to feel the same way as you and still go wired when practical. But you should try a decent Bluetooth setup sometime.
I still have these and they still work. I have since upgraded, but these still worked when I put them away. They were a little puny in sound for the shower because of the water coming down, but for the price and what they were, perfectly acceptable.
