These work really well! I’d like a bigger size though. (The water dispensers in my office’s new building are upstairs, I work downstairs, it’s a pain in the ass.). But I literally left ice water in one from about 4pm one day, and it still had ice in it at 11am the next. Pretty fabulous!!
Can’t believe that we’ve gone this far without someone mentioning that besides the aforementioned positive attributes…
These just make a pitcher perfect addition to the kitchen!
Apologies - It could not be helped; I was simply making sure that it happened sooner, rather than later.
Got these last time…I’ve a bunch of double-wall stainless vacuum carafes to compare them to. Holicow they do a great job keeping things warm. The glass’s thermal insulative abilities kick butt over the steel options, even the best made ones.
I read the negative reviews. For some the glass shatters with an exploding force when you pour the hot liquid in. There were enough of those reviews I’d keep my face way back the first time I’d fill this. Some leak on the bottom so with first time use put them somewhere if they amongst the ones that leak it isn’t going to matter either.
Meh - first you tell us about exploding toilets (thank you for that I had to check to see if mine was from those years - fortunately was not) now you sell us exploding pitchers? I understand there there phones and washing machines out there for pyromaniacs that will probably be available at a cheap price… : )
@Kidsandliz It’s a vacuum so I would expect an implosion, not an explosion. I doubt the glass flies out. And they probably do leak if the glass is broken. I broke many glass vacuum thermoses as a child. It’s scary and loud but I doubt dangerous. Unless you try to drink your milk after.
@Kidsandliz Blowing the glass out is a potential risk for ALL glass vacuum flasks [including Thermos ], and generally occurs when hot coffee hits cold glass. The instructions tell you to swirl warm water in the bottle (to take the chill off) before adding hot liquids,
It seems almost certain that it would nicely hold poison. Other than the plastic, it should quite easily take the acid as well- glass is what you hold acid in, after all.
These showed up yesterday. I’m trying to remember why I bought them. I never need a carafe of hot or cold liquid. Maybe it was just because they were purple. Oh well, into the random Xmas gift pile with them.
One arrived with a small sound when shaken. It held coffee ok, I thought, then when coffee was inside I heard a small explosion. As we do not have earthquakes here, I didn’t think about it. But when I opened pitcher to pour a cup of coffee, out came the coffee and inside thermos in a thousand pieces. The other pitcher is working like a good nazi. If there is such a thing.
You forgot the amazing part; @nixster has made 0 purchases.
So not only have they gotten a refund from Amazon for a Meh purchase, but Meh didn’t even know that they bought anything from them. (@meh doesn’t know either, although I guess now she does.)
Well perhaps the terms of joining should be a bit clearer. I was just surfing to find if anyone else had problems with these items and presto you lot turned up. And what a lot of sarcastic bast Ards you are too. Get me out of here!
For the record though, bringing a thread from October 2016 to the top without giving the context of you having bought this from Amazon and were asking a general question, may seem a little odd to people.

Car-afe pitchers meh…drink up!
Who loves purple again?
/giphy Barney loves purple
@haydesigner I do love purple.
@Barney is going to be happy today.
@lljk Yep!
At least they rank decent…but still Meh

Got these last time… they do work well but note that they hold only a quart of piping hot beverage.
Being that these are made in Germany, I highly suspect that they are NOT 34 oz capacity; they are 1 liter capacity, approximately 33.814 ounces.
@ellett Use the empty space inside the cap for that extra 0.186 fl.oz.
@ellett This is Meh’s “Royale with Cheese” moment.
@ellett All of this beside. they’re damn good.
I’d say they’re better or on par with higher priced ones. I love them
/giphy smiling-alcoholic-jackrabbit
@gcanyon Mamrie Hart is far more uplifting than anything I could find to represent my critical-homeless-map.
Purple. You have purple. Does that mean I should unblame @ignorant for something going right?
All the purples are sold out. Unblame rescinded, @ignorant.
These are awesome for homebrew if you have a keg setup!
Why no mention in the write up of home-town hero and all-time great Nolan Ryan?

Locker room comment:
That’s a nice pair of jugs there!
@daveinwarsh, I grab 'em by their lid. And when you’re a star, they let you do it.
I wanted raspberry but settled for eggplant. I probably shouldn’t have bought them at all.

THREE Purplish options? Be still my beating heart!
@katbyter RIP Prince.
@katbyter from purplepawprints the first time:
left to right- eggplant, raspberry, and lavender
convinced myself…

So, @Barney, Lavender, Eggplant, or Raspberry: which one is the true purple? Or can they all be purple?
@jqubed DERPle
@jqubed They are all beautiful, beautiful purple.
I missed the first time, was hoping these would come back around. Woohoo! Sometimes things work out okay.
Got these last time…I’ve a bunch of double-wall stainless vacuum carafes to compare them to. Holicow they do a great job keeping things warm. The glass’s thermal insulative abilities kick butt over the steel options, even the best made ones.
Would have ordered 347 if Michigan would have been represented on your crummy map!
The thermos, How do it know?
There are like 3 shades of purple here…
@username Yeah, ain’t it wonderful?
Not ideal for beer, so I’m out!
I’m still trying to figure out why I pulled the trigger on these. Maybe they’re so gosh darn pretty.
/giphy temperate-poor-hospital
The only colors sold out are white and the three purples. You guys are so funny.
/giphy out of purple
Meh. We want a belly itcher, not a pitcher.
I have to press a button to pour? The future is now people. The future is here.
@ahhhpancakes nonsense. If this were a futuristic carafe, it would be thought controlled.
We need moar purple!

@sammydog01 I love glassy milk. Yum.
opaque-deluded-arm
I’m not even going to image search this as we all know exactly what arm is most important around here.
It seems almost certain that it would nicely hold poison. Other than the plastic, it should quite easily take the acid as well- glass is what you hold acid in, after all.
@Josephus Actually, it depends in the acid. Certain acids are used to etch glass, so I wouldn’t use it to store acid, especially hydrofluoric acid.
@Josephus when making meth, I would definitely recommend the duffle bag meh posted days ago over these carafes. For sure store your acid in a duffel.
/giphy precise-bejeweled-scarecrow
Does anyone know if these will work with the newer Keurig 2.0 systems? The Keurig carafes suck when it comes to insulating properties.
@cusslerfan it’s too tall to fit under a 425 with the drip tray removed
Is this dishwasher safe?
Are these things puntable?
2 for 20 is 1 too many, 1 for 12 or 14 is plenty.
These showed up yesterday. I’m trying to remember why I bought them. I never need a carafe of hot or cold liquid. Maybe it was just because they were purple. Oh well, into the random Xmas gift pile with them.
@SSteve I love purple.

@tomogg yep both mine did that
One for $8 for VMP’s on Morningsave- see, sometimes it’s actually cheaper over there. No purple though.
@sammydog01 Darn.
Bought 2 end of December. I exploded after 2 weeks the other 2 days ago. Amazon refunded both.
@nixster wow, amazon refunded a meh purchase? neato! how do I go about getting Jeff to pay for all my mediocre purchases???
@thismyusername
You forgot the amazing part; @nixster has made 0 purchases.

@nixster
What do you mean by “exploded” ?
Other people have had issues.
See for example this post or this post, although it’s not so much complaining about an issue as it is addressing them
@nixster
/giphy play with us
@sammydog01 Not what I had in mind but @Barney might like this.
@nixster By the way you can say “bastards” here and a lot of other dirty words. So hang out with us, we’re sarcastic and fun.
@nixster

@sammydog01 I love purple play doh dinos.
