★ “This is awesome, but I need one that holds a 12 cup pot of coffee. I think except for size it does everything I expected it to.” - Amazon customer
“This thermos is better than it looks in the photo. The plastic is lightweight but sturdy, and shaped so it is impossible to tip it over. The way the light goes through the plastic makes it really cute, so I don’t mind leaving it on the counter. (I wondered if it would be too red for my yellow kitchen). The lid goes on easily and to pour, you only push a button on the lid with no need for unwinding. As long as you keep it clean, you won’t have to scrub; but you may want a bottle brush as your hand with a rag won’t fit inside. The liner appears to be a heavy-duty glass, so you won’t want to drop it, but it should be sturdy in case you accidentally do. The handle will accomodate even a large hand. My coffee is still piping hot the next day. Great thermos!” - Amazon customer
★★★★ “The shape is very odd and you feel like nothing is coming out. You then get the feeling you need to loosen the top and the fluid all dumps out!” - Gross Amazon customer

Gotta be one of those deals where the vender would only give him the moderately palatable junk if they'd also take the serious horseshit junk. Last week's so-so deal sponsored by tonight's total waste of time.
@unkabob I would write to the company about the cover. For a pillow of this quality from a company with such high standards, I am sure it was an oversight!
@OldCatLady I am willing to spend the time explaining any and all things to this gentleman.....just be prepared 'cause it's gonna take a real long time.
So looking at that odd shaped liner, this is basically just like grandpa's old vacuum-glass thermos. But in a new wonky shape. With new wonky colors. And I don't think grandpa's thermos came apart James Bond-style like this one.
From the writeup" "But what about when you're having people over? You can't plop a Thermos down on the brunch table like you're at a construction site."
You can't? I can. To cover any potential faux pas, i maintain my living space as tho it is a construction site. Prob solved.
@f00l I just cultivate my reputation as "the batshit crazy lady of the neighborhood" - which cuts down on visitors and covers any eccentric thing I do. Serving coffee from a thermos would be too normal.
In for a red one- I actually can use it. Hubby likes dark roast, I like light. So one of us can put our coffee in this as soon as it's brewed so we can brew some of the other kind. No coffee makes me a motionless-drab-sprite.
As a single female that runs her own bed and breakfast I find these to be amazing!!! The colors are spectacular especially the espresso brown... it matches my dining room scheme perfectly!!! I got 5 more for spares and of course I got VMP, because it's... such... a... value!!!!!!!!!!!
I see that in the product specs it says 16 hours for hot & cold, but on the front page specs, it says only 10 hours for hot. Did you guys run lab tests?
I couldn't resist. It came in light green, my favorite color. This should be the final coffee and tea related item I need, though, so let's stop selling so many of them, Meh.
I can make coffee or tea, use this bad boy to cart it around in the car, pour it into a Meh tumbler when I'm ready to go inside somewhere, and...
if the baby arm is accurate this thing must be 3' tall.
if it doesn't keep my shit hot for 16 hours will you take it back.
that's just a sample question for all the crazy claims you make. Basically are they just like "yea sure" insert sarcastic snicker.
how often do you list your stuff on Amazon and eBay as a third party seller?
i was close to buying an orange and black one. (To cool for halloween right?) It's so fun when you use colors to highlight the holiday.
but every time I think of how it will look I see the picture of the red one with the index finger sticking in the hole? What's with that? Seriously creeps me out. Whoever did the layout cannot date my daughter. Me, maybe but not my daughter. Meh your dreams come true.
Wondering if these were made in one of the factories in the former East Germany. They did a lot with glass. I have some glass cups with plastic bases from the DDR.
In for a few. Like the idea of pouring fresh made coffee into this,sitting on the deck in the morning and not getting up for that second cup. I can also shut off the coffee maker as soon as it finishes brewing. I bet I'll save that $11 in one year ;-)
@jmbunkin I thought about getting one, but then I realized I have 2 of the 20 oz Bubba tumblers I can use. Fill them up, walk down to the dock and enjoy. And I when I drop one of the Bubba's, it won't shatter the inside lining, because I know I will eventually drop one...
Do these make that special sound when you drop them that dropping my vacuum thermos full of milk made back in middle school? The sound you knew meant your mother would kill you?
@LinnE Same here except both of mine are white, but one is broken and unusable. The box is crushed on one side ant the bottom of the outer plastic on one is broken, as well as a break in the glass vacuum container. The box was not marked Fragile in any way!
@LinnE@redtape Dang, dudes, sorry your stuff got busted.
Mine came in just fine, it's very nice. I've got coffee in it right now from this afternoon that's still warm. If you look at the actual glass core, it has that little tail on it that shows its hand blown glass! Way cool.
I know. It made me sad to think of someone actually putting in the effort to make this thing, carefully packaging it to ship from Germany, and then some chucklehead in the US throwing it a box with half a sheet of partially deflated inflate-wrap and tossing it in the mail.
Got my three, surprisingly and thankfully intact. I also had that first thought of 'who the fuck just dumped these in a box without any real protection?' You guys did remember they have a glass insert, right?
My three variations of purple arrived intact. After filling the first two Bubba tumblers of the day, I poured the rest of the pot into a carafe and am hopeful that I'll have hot, not burned, coffee for the rest of the day.
@melanie413 Go up to the top of this thread and click on the red pitcher. It will take you to the May 6th order page. Under the red pitcher on the order page, there are the little circles you can click on. Keep clicking and you can see all of the lovely purples.
@Barney@Barney I saw those. I ordered one and it doesn’t match the picture. I wanted to see the ones recieved to see if I got the correct one or if there is another color. Thanks though.
@melanie413 Sorry for the very long delay. It took me forever to actually take the picture, then I forgot to come here and post it. For reference, left to right, it’s Eggplant, Raspberry, and Lavander. The Raspberry looks like I’d imagine it to be, but it does not look like the picture on my order page. Please excuse the crappy lighting.
ETA: Going back up and looking at the original pictures, the Eggplant doesn’t really match the picture that well either. I think the Eggplant in actuality looks like Raspberry’s picture.
@PurplePawprints pictures on the computer display differently from computer to computer based on monitor settings and monitor quality and such. It’s why many places note that fact on their pages to make it clear that they are not responsible for how your monitor displays the photos.
@jbartus I’d love to be able to respond by saying my monitor is calibrated, but it isn’t, so I can’t. Anyway, I do realize that monitors display differently, so I wasn’t complaining about the differences, just commenting on them. Also, apparently the display on my phone and laptop are synched up, at least.
@PurplePawprints no worries I wasn’t saying you were complaining, just sharing. I do IT as well as my graphic/web design stuff and some people are so surprised by the concept.
There’s one huge mistake you can make with it, though, besides the obvious things like dropping it on a hard surface.
That mistake is trying to store a perishable beverage with it without putting ice in it. Don’t do it! It needs to remain either hot or cold, it can’t go tepid. So unless you’re storing it for a short amount of time hot, you must get it cold and then the carafe can keep it cold if you put it somewhere cold. But the liquid will not get cold fast enough if you just put the vessel into a refrigerator or freezer with the liquid at room temperature or higher.
I wasted two very good rounds of doctored up coffee this way. Real shame. Don’t be an idiot like I was.
I thought this was going to be a great little addition to my works employee committee. Use it for fund raisers etc. But unfortunately it came with the glass insert all busted into 6 pieces. To inexpensive to even worry about it. But MEH, you need to throw in a bit more backing materials next time…

Wtf. Where did you guys even find these to try to sell to us??!
@Raptor_007
Gotta be one of those deals where the vender would only give him the moderately palatable junk if they'd also take the serious horseshit junk. Last week's so-so deal sponsored by tonight's total waste of time.
I'm guessing it was the pillows that sold out.
@MehnofLaMehncha Those Pillows ROCK
@bugger I got my pillow yesterday with the velour cover!! It's been airing out and I am going to use it tonight.
@cwillbwill5 ... I received mine without a cover... I don't know what to say.. Waaa!!
@unkabob I would write to the company about the cover. For a pillow of this quality from a company with such high standards, I am sure it was an oversight!
@cwillbwill5 .. First off let me make sure we're talking about the same product.. HoMedics TheraP Memory Foam Contour Pillow.. Correct?
@bugger yep. Using the pillows now actually (Edit: never mind, I'm talking about the set of 4 that sold for $28)
@unkabob Yes. I thought it would be bigger than it is. The zip on white cover is velour.
@cwillbwill5 .. Oh, okay I found it.. just didn't look close enough, thanks.
2 shades of purple!
@jml326 I love eggplant.
@liz it is Friday.
@jml326 THREE shades, for all your purple drank needs!
@troy but raspberries are red... the pitcher is a lier.
Mmmmm breakable.
You're fucking kidding me, right?
@MehnofLaMehncha If this deal was a joke, I'm not carafeing.
In for AAALLLLLLL the purples!!!! I don't even care if I never use them, I must have the purples.
@PurplePawprints I love purples.
You are so weird meh, in for 2.
Puzzled-Magenta-Wire. Our kegerator is downstairs in the garage and it sucks having to go all that way for more beer
@Moose I don't have a kegerator, but that is a great idea- snobbish-blocky-scent.
Hey @Barney- it looks like Meh heard your pleas- there's as many as three shades of purple for today's product!
@dashcloud Yep, I'm in purple heaven.
@Barney is prince with you?
@edwinwillmore No, but King, the wonder dog is.
I have no use for this but that orange would match my bicycle hubs. Hmmmmmmm........
No speaker? Bluetooth?
Samba Carafes? These f*ckers can't dance. Especially the white one. They should call that model "The Elaine".
Frackity Frackity Frack.
Holy $hit all those color options!
@Stallion I know! I don't know which color to get!
Overwhelming-bewildered-trick needs a better image than I'm finding. This is a placeholder.
He looks nicely bewildered. Anybody want to 'splain things? @lisaviolet @mikibell @barney @jaremelz @beachbum @hollboll @Foxborn @LaVikinga
@OldCatLady ah yes there was this wonderful massage followed by Hot tub time
@OldCatLady Contemplative. He's contemplative.
@OldCatLady He's surprised that there really are 3 purples. Maybe he's trying to count that high.
@OldCatLady I am willing to spend the time explaining any and all things to this gentleman.....just be prepared 'cause it's gonna take a real long time.
@OldCatLady I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? I wasn't listening, I was admiring the view.
Not dishwasher safe? Hand wash only!?
Meh.
Hey guys when you get these make sure you patch them up... samba has some serious holes lately.
Now you're just Samba-dy that I used for Joe.
@Big_B Please don't do that. Staaaahhp. Okay STFU. Kill the earworm, I have things to do tomorrow. SHADDUP!
So looking at that odd shaped liner, this is basically just like grandpa's old vacuum-glass thermos. But in a new wonky shape. With new wonky colors. And I don't think grandpa's thermos came apart James Bond-style like this one.
@RedOak It did! So you could replace the glass, rubber seals, or both!
@mossygreen
This thing is easier to pour from, likely.
all the pretty shiny colors - i want one of each and need none!
How many damn headphones do I have to buy before you give me a Surface Tablet and dock?
@TRD
Billions and billions.
You asked.
@f00l I read that with Carl Sagan's voice in my head.
"...billions and billions."
Or maybe it was Elmer's voice
@TRD HOLY SHIT, YOU'RE A PROPHET!!
Can't carafe a pun tonight...
From the writeup"
"But what about when you're having people over? You can't plop a Thermos down on the brunch table like you're at a construction site."
You can't? I can. To cover any potential faux pas, i maintain my living space as tho it is a construction site. Prob solved.
@f00l You're having people over. Seriously
@f00l I just cultivate my reputation as "the batshit crazy lady of the neighborhood" - which cuts down on visitors and covers any eccentric thing I do. Serving coffee from a thermos would be too normal.

@cshillaber
I bet is saves you lots of coffee-serving time, which you then devote to dusting the B&B slipcovers and flounces. So efficient!
Thx for informative feedback. 5 stars!
@f00l I believe those tasks are handled by her husband or his wife.
I got one because they have it in HOME DEPOT orange and, hey, nose buddies has orange any moe
@bugger Nose buddies? That's an inventive autocorrect you've got there.
Meh. What a bunch of carafe....

Can someone show me where the config file is so I can hook it to my printers?
@darkzrobe Check here
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php
if these had a contigo-style lid with no pour spout- they'd be a perfect size commuter mug!
Great for your keeping your buddy's urine warm when you get called in for a surprise drug test.
@megjosh But how do you fit it in your pants?
@warpedrotors Practice, man. Practice.
@megjosh @warpedrotors @mcanavino Is that a Samba Glass Insulated Carafe in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
@sligett Happy until it shatters...
@megjosh And for the rare times you are stung by a jellyfish.
My Friends better not have been lying about that
"Carafe" ty deal tonight
It kind of looks a little bit like a fat bird.
I wish these were headphones or a Dyson product that was actually crappy. I would buy insulated British dad headphones so hard.
I was hoping the Yellow carafe would be made into a chickadee or something duck-like. Oh well.
@cfg83
@KDemo Maybe next time.
@Kylethephotoguy
This looks.And more importantly sounds like shit. I was in complete shock to see more than one purchase
@unksol they have conditioned us to store various temperatures of fluids in multiple containers.
I see that in the product specs it says 16 hours for hot & cold, but on the front page specs, it says only 10 hours for hot. Did you guys run lab tests?
hey meh, why showing the side-by-side color option pic only after checkout ? would be good to see on front page.
Oh, it's about to be summer!
Can you say "cold drinks by the pool"?
On the positive side
On the negative side
Bring one to a work meeting so you can chug an entire pot of steaming hot coffee and intimidate your coworkers. It worked for Teal'c!
Are you someone who's glass... carafe full or carafe empty?
A samba server! No port, must be wireless. Cool. I mean hot.
dependable-delicious-leopard
Need a carafe for when we have people visiting. I'm very happy with the price, and I hope it works.
If this were an electric kettle I would be all over it.
@cranky1950 The best ones are made in Canada.
Such a nice item, it almost hurt to hit the meh button.
Not a Sansa, but Samba is close enough I guess
@jmoor783 So much for folllowing protocol.
Wondering if these were made in one of the factories in the former East Germany. They did a lot with glass. I have some glass cups with plastic bases from the DDR.
There are coffee brewing cones that have a tube at the bottom that are for making coffee directly into a carafe.
roughly the size of 1 @jdub coffee mug.
artificial-toasty-story
clairvoyant-mirrored-poison
I want one of these so badly, and I can't for the life of me figure out why, or justify such a purchase. Too bad...
@currawong A vase? The colors are pretty.
In for a few. Like the idea of pouring fresh made coffee into this,sitting on the deck in the morning and not getting up for that second cup. I can also shut off the coffee maker as soon as it finishes brewing. I bet I'll save that $11 in one year ;-)

Come on, just make it over a thousand! Yay!
Received mine today,fast delivery. Have not used them yet but made in Germany so these may be as close to a BMW as I'll ever get.
There was a lavender one on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx today for $7. I was tempted.
Do these make that special sound when you drop them that dropping my vacuum thermos full of milk made back in middle school? The sound you knew meant your mother would kill you?
Glad I ordered two. One is an attractive black carafe, the other is an attractive white canister full of broken glass.
@LinnE
Same here except both of mine are white, but one is broken and unusable. The box is crushed on one side ant the bottom of the outer plastic on one is broken, as well as a break in the glass vacuum container. The box was not marked Fragile in any way!
@redtape Yeah, mine wasn't marked fragile, AND the USPS included a sticker that said something like "Received broken."
@LinnE @redtape Marking boxes fragile is like waving a red flag in front of a raging bull when you want to calm it down. It just makes things worse
@LinnE Meaning that it was damaged while FedEx had it
@Foxborn Although to be fair, if I worked at the USPS (or FedEx or UPS) I'd just CYA and put those stickers on everything.
@LinnE agreed
@redtape And meh makes it right. Replacement on the way!
@LinnE That means they got broken by FedEx before they were handed over to the USPS.
@LinnE @redtape Dang, dudes, sorry your stuff got busted.
Mine came in just fine, it's very nice. I've got coffee in it right now from this afternoon that's still warm. If you look at the actual glass core, it has that little tail on it that shows its hand blown glass! Way cool.
@Dizavid That 'tail' is likely actually where they connected a hose to pump out the air for the partial vacuum insulation.
I know. It made me sad to think of someone actually putting in the effort to make this thing, carefully packaging it to ship from Germany, and then some chucklehead in the US throwing it a box with half a sheet of partially deflated inflate-wrap and tossing it in the mail.
These are like fancy ihop coffee table jugs... they don't hold a lot, but they do keep it at temp for a long time.
Got my three, surprisingly and thankfully intact. I also had that first thought of 'who the fuck just dumped these in a box without any real protection?' You guys did remember they have a glass insert, right?
@cinoclav They ran out of ceramic cups as dunnage. Also, it seems they didn't learn their lesson here.
https://meh.com/forum/topics/dont-try-at-home-behind-the-scenes-at-meh
@cinoclav
Received 2, both unbroken. Could have been packed better, thankfully they survived!
My three variations of purple arrived intact. After filling the first two Bubba tumblers of the day, I poured the rest of the pot into a carafe and am hopeful that I'll have hot, not burned, coffee for the rest of the day.
@PurplePawprints could you post a picture of your three purple variations for me as a favor to a fellow purple lover?
@melanie413 Go up to the top of this thread and click on the red pitcher. It will take you to the May 6th order page. Under the red pitcher on the order page, there are the little circles you can click on. Keep clicking and you can see all of the lovely purples.

Love! Love! Wish I got more for gifts!!
I pretty much love this item.
There’s one huge mistake you can make with it, though, besides the obvious things like dropping it on a hard surface.

@bugger Write in- they’ll fix if for you.
@bugger write in to meh.com/support and let them do what they do. Cheap stuff isn’t fun if it’s broken.
