@webender a little late but the Barnes & Noble one was used as it's $19.95 and had some reviews (though not very useful ones given false pedometer claim)
Well shit, look who the fuck it is, Twofer Tuesday, making her weekly rounds once again. Oh what's that? You want me to buy a two pack of those shitty heart rate monitor watches. How about a firm no. Yea...that's right, no. I don't need your peddled shit right now. Keep steppin' filthy temptress, not today.
@studerc DO YOU FEEL BETTER AFTER YOU USE OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE? PLAY A GAME OF RAQUETBALL, GO FOR A RUN, OR SOMETHING. NO NEED TO BE RUDE. "IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, DO NOT SAY IT"
@RedOak I apologyze for that. I am very old and can hardly see (so caps lock is on most of the times :o) ...was not speaking out loud, nor screaming, if that is what you may be referring to. Sorry.
@TRANSFORMED im gonna go ahead and keep being me. I find it humorous that you allow such words to offend you. They are just a bunch of fucking words no need to be all fucking shitty about it.
Two watches is a good idea. Keep one on summer time and the other on winter time. That way, when DST starts or ends, you just need to switch watches instead of setting them. Reminds me I still need to set the time on my watch.
I'd take two of these for five dollars if you threw in a sweet drawstring fuku bag and some other potentially valuable or worthless shit. Yeah, I'd take 'em off your hands for a deal like that.
It isn't obsolete. That would be like saying the iPod is obsolete. Those watches perform exactly as intended. Seriously, even as plain old digital watches that's not a bad deal.
This is not a bad deal if you actually need a watch. Even the crappiest digital watches at Walmart cost more than $9 per watch.
Anyway, possible reasons why one would need a watch... I do some mascot work and I don't carry my cell phone when I'm in costume, so I wear a watch for a quick check of the time when I get to the break area. Also, there was the time when I had jury duty and the courthouse didn't allow cell phones.
I go crazy without a watch on and I bought this last time so I'd have something to wear when I didn't want to ruin/lose my good watch (jogging, camping, etc). I never tried the hear rate monitor after I took it out of the packaging, but it has worked well as a ready-to-destroy watch. If I knew I could get the battery out and preserve it (I lack a screwdriver small enough to try), I might have considered getting these for when mine gets lost/ruined.
@eyewerks I didn't cancel. It just went poof a week ago, or thereabouts. My last order was the middle of January and that credit card is still good, so I don't know how it happened, but it's working out for me so far. So meh I guess.
@nadroj I DID cancel (a couple of weeks ago) and when I replied to your post the VMP icon mysteriously reappeard next to my name. Something is seriously amiss.
@nadroj hey there, looked into this for you and it seems that the card you had on file for VMP did expire so it couldn't renew. Give Support a shout if you need more info.
@JonT thanks. So your system stores different payment methods for VMP and daily deals? if I click BUY today, it shows the card I used for my last product purchase, which is still valid. Whereas my last paid VMP renewal was pre-Xmeh, on my prior credit card.
I'll likely re-up when I make my next purchase, so no problem. It was just strange, especially after the jokes about auto-cancel in wake of the barrage of posts on how to cancel the Xmeh freebie.
@frankiebeans I could sell you one... or even ten (not sure how I ended up with ten of them). You will still need to cut the cover off. Probably cheaper to just wait for meh tho, what with shipping and all.
These watches actually are selling on Amazon for $49.99 right now. However, just before Christmas, the price was actually less than $10. Heres the link:
@Echizen84 Two for nine, so half what they were selling for at Christmas, and you're saying shitty deal? The math says it is. The caveat is, the reviews say it's small, and some people have trouble getting it to actually find a heartbeat. For $4.50 (for VMP), it's decent for a watch.
these came out in 2011, my guess many will have a dead or almost dead battery so factor that in (says one year battery life). Also doesn't mention being water proof which IMO makes a sports like watch useless in my book
@shade_tree However, it is probably the perfect size to fit around one end of the rear-view mirror of my '93 Toyota Tacoma that I (warning: blatant gloat approaching) bought last September. It was garage-kept, came with studded winter tires (plus summer tires), and had only 20K miles on it. Paid 10K. It's like new, but NO CLOCK?
I want these for the heart rate monitoring function, but if they suck even at 2 for $9 they are not worthy. Anyone have one of these? Does it do the heart rate monitoring decent?
@ACraigL Agreed. No chest strap, no bueno. I've heard that the new fitness trackers that use optical sensors on the wrist (like the Fitbit Surge) are actually quite accurate, but I have yet to try one of those myself.
@nadroj and he still didn't sign up for VMP even though it would have been free for the next month. Foolish and irrational but that's just like @unixrab life philosophy.
@cengland0 seriously... do you have some sort of learning or reading comprehension disability? I've explained it to you so many times. I say you're just obtuse.
So, uhhhh.... I think Meh is just trying to f.... with me by making this a two-fer. What if I put one on my left-wrist... and one on my right-wrist and they both show different heart beats? See what I mean? Up until now, I have always considered myself a simple man... a one heart, one watch, kind of guy. OMG.............. I ordered four.
Why did you buy more of these things??? They're not even good enough for anchors. Not to mention that they don't even have a backlight. They are not obsolete, they were crap from the getgo.
@cranky1950 there's an unfortunately incorrect assumption at the start of this question. Good to have your feedback that the previous 1 for $10 offering of these was disappointing :)
@snapster I actually bought two of them when they were offered at $10 each. I use them at the gym because I broke the glass on my smartwatch while exercising and that could get expensive to repair again.
If I didn't already buy these the first time, I would definitely have bought them today.
@snapster Regarding your comment, "previous 1 for $10 offering of these," I believe the previous offering was a different model. At least it looks a lot different than the ones I bought.
The previous ones came in a box and it looks like these are a blister pack. The previous ones require you to press two buttons to get your pulse and it looks like only one on this model.
@OnionSoup Not true. My smartwatch still functions without my phone nearby. I might be missing some smart features but I can still get my fitness info and the time.
@sjk3 I'd love speaker docks! I could use a few more of them... You know how those companies give you extra if it's your refund check... I wonder how many extra speaker docks they'd send me if I used my refund check...
Well, now that a lot of the sarcastic comments are out of the way, I'll just point out that I kinda wanted a HR monitor. It's mainly because the HR monitor on one of the stair steppers at the gym sucks. I'm not really looking to be a HR fanatic, but for "cutting season" it's nice to have a general idea where your HR is when you're doing cardio.
I know the chest strap ones are MUCH more accurate (and honestly I have a chest strap for an older Garmin 305) but I'm hoping for my occasional need that this will suffice to just throw in the gym bag and not have to worry about recharging nightly.
So, kudos to you meh. Excellent timing (pun intended.)
(Side note: As an Apple fanboi, I should want an Apple watch, but alas, other than maybe 10 minutes yesterday when I got sucked into the RDF, I just can't see myself forking out $350+ for yet another device I have to recharge nightly. And I haven't worn a watch since someone pointed out that basically no one under 30 wears a watch as they all have cell phones, so a watch is redundant. It would take me a LONG time to get used to wearing one again.)
I'm disappointed that there were no snarky Hulk jokes. In the Edward Norton film, Bruce Banner wore one to monitor his condition. When it reached 200 bpm, BLAMMO! Hulk! LOL
anyone know if these are water resist/water proof? I do construction and wouldn't mind having a watch I can beat up. Also we're going on a cruise in may and it's nice to have a watch when you're in port or on the ship and don't have a phone with you....I mean, $9 for 2 isn't a bad deal, and I already have VMP so....Hmmmm
eff it.....in it 2 win it......as said before, 2 watches for $9 isn't a bad deal. I don't always have my phone on me, or want to get it out to look at the time when I can look at my wrist. I'm in the over 30 (34) crowd, so I guess I'm still in the group of people who wear watches . I like watches. They're neat!
For the record, I think the pun, "Appless Watch" is brilliant. Unless it was a coincidence that it has 'Apple' in there. If that's the case, then it is less Stephen Hawking and more Matthew McConaughey.
@Dengue My health insurance just sent me a free pedometer. It doesn't talk to anything, and it hooks to a belt. I'm a girl, we don't usually wear belts.
@WarEagleKev I thought that too, but you really can't use these for cardio as you really almost have to stop to use it, and it's not really a monitor it's more a static indicator, so you'll probably go anaerobic before you check your heart rate. Then I figured ok a cheap watch which didn't do me much good when I looked at my wrist a 4am in pitch darkness. These things are submeh.
In for 2, which is actually 4. I use/wear an Ironman watch, but my kids are taking it. Now they can each have their own, and I can have my Ironman to myself again--glossy-vacant-carrot.
Mine arrived today, and the one I opened works well. Possibly the poor reviews on other sites arose because the directions don't specifically tell you to peel the film off the front and back, and it isn't conspicuous. Pulse rate sensor and stopwatch work fine, calorie calculator seems good. Easy setup. Reasonably comfortable, but I wish it came in pink.
@thismyusername Sux to be them. I have Luddite leanings, and I don't want to be part of the Internet of Things any more than I have to. The only modification I plan to make is to add some Swarovski to pimp it just a little. It'll never be inconspicuous, might as well make it LOUD and FLASHY.
these watches are total junk - continuous false readings, and can't even attach to wrist easily at all - I want to send the things back, but I am having trouble seeing how to - any help please and thanks?
Q: What's your return policy? A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it.We DO NOT accept returns if you just decided you didn't want it, don't like the color, or just feeling a little buyer's remorse. You might try eBay - with as cheap as you probably got it, you could even end up making a little off it. Or hone your reputation for generosity by giving it to someone a little less picky.

@lennyX3
Hopefully these shitty watches last longer than the shitty weather radios. I won't be buying any.
Yes we have no BanAnas!!!
This didn't make my heart stop. Guess I don't need the monitoring.
$29.99 @ the Oregon Scientific web site
@webender $5 here....
@webender a little late but the Barnes & Noble one was used as it's $19.95 and had some reviews (though not very useful ones given false pedometer claim)
i'm curious how far in advance you plan your sales, was this timed to compete with the fruit watch? do you ever change up the sell order for comedy?
@vampje Clearly, this was planned... and bravo. Well played, Meh. Well played!
@DJP519 i was wondering if this maybe was moved to coincide, although i guess fruit watch wasn't really a secret
@vampje Apple announced several weeks ago that they were going to make an announcement today.
I'd rather buy an Apple Watch than this shit.
Me too
@armchair I dare say you're at the wrong site, if something that expensive / shiny interests you.
@TheCraiggers People can't enjoy $350 gadgets and two-packs of discount speaker docks?
@brhfl Nope.

"IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, DO NOT SAY IT"
@transformed at least @studerc said it in a polite voice.
@RedOak @studerc
@RedOak I apologyze for that. I am very old and can hardly see (so caps lock is on most of the times :o) ...was not speaking out loud, nor screaming, if that is what you may be referring to. Sorry.

Just FYI. In case you were wondering. FWIW.
@joelmw That reminds me: I need to give away my drawstring fuku bag.
@SSteve IN.
@givemeyoursoul Keep your eyes open. I might not have time to do it this week, though.
@SSteve Yes, please. And thank you.
meh...no Bluetooth.
I cancelled my VMP membership once the free trial ended. Since then I've had no reason to restart my membership. Thanks Meh for saving me money!
@brotendo64 The key to saving money is to not visit this (or sites like this) ever again. You'll be wasting money soon again.
The girlfriend and I are going to see who wins in the bedroom. Hers some throwback action,
brown-hard-blackberry
@AndrewC yeah, your gf loses in the bedroom every time (cheap watches and cheap shots all on one deal site)
If I order these, will I get Insteon IP cameras instead?
@chesng too soon dude.
@chesng Beat me to it.
@chesng I got them camera lol So far they work great. lol for now anyways...
@chesng No, they'll send you a pair of speaker docks, then ask you to mail them back or else.
my girlfriend made me do it.
2 heart rate monitors for $9 - shut up and take my money! Once again proving I will buy anything here under $10.
@Superjimtendo shipping cost more than one of the watches. killed it for meh.
@vmleopard but not more than two watches and this is Twofer Tuesday!
@vmleopard if the shipping is what ruined it for you, then you need to get yourself some of that sweet, sweet VMP goodness.
I tried to resist... but I failed... maybe one will end up in an exchange...
I miss Irk, that sweet piece of ass.
@irishbyblood
Sounds like a cheap piece of crap
It isn't obsolete. That would be like saying the iPod is obsolete. Those watches perform exactly as intended. Seriously, even as plain old digital watches that's not a bad deal.
@Yakuman you know what also performs exactly as intended? A buggy whip!
@nadroj ... Not mine.. It's rude.. Keeps snapping back at me.
@nadroj Seems like an odd device. Just how often does one need to whip one's buggy?
I may have to cancel. Greedy-old-chalk is way too personal.
@OldCatLady
This is not a bad deal if you actually need a watch. Even the crappiest digital watches at Walmart cost more than $9 per watch.

@mortonfox Two scenarios familiar to us all.
@mortonfox I was thinking about reasons why I need a watch as well. I am in many meetings in rooms with no clocks. This would be ideal.
@conandlibrarian Looking at your watch every 30 seconds sends a subtle message when meetings run long.
@mortonfox A watch comes in handy when you're out of earshot of a bell tower.
@mortonfox Mascot work? Photo please?
I go crazy without a watch on and I bought this last time so I'd have something to wear when I didn't want to ruin/lose my good watch (jogging, camping, etc). Tl;dr: An okay digital watch.
$5 shipping kills the buy-it-now urge for me.
Thanks unixrab!
@nadroj Cancelling VMP has set me free as well.

Hey, a watch that has battery life for more than a day. And isn't interested in any astronomical $17,000 option. Practicality... Imagine that shit!
I need a Bluetooth keyboard come on meh!
@frankiebeans ... Hang around, you'll get your wish soon.
@frankiebeans I could sell you one... or even ten (not sure how I ended up with ten of them). You will still need to cut the cover off. Probably cheaper to just wait for meh tho, what with shipping and all.
All I want to know is, How many ppl got the Insteon Cameras that we didn't want?
@Mandamm Me. +1
You'd never have seen Christopher Walken's ass smuggling one of these POS watches out of a North Vietmanese prison.
@eyewerks As it isn't a hard lump of metal.
@eyewerks I had to find that clip. Here it is.
Do you have to wear a black turtleneck if you get one?
im stoned and i ordered 6 watches
I guess they were too big for the baby arm.
Last day on my VMP. Screw it, might as well git me one.
nuisance-artistic-scarecrow
Oh son of a bitch. Now I ain't gonna be able ta sleep tonight!
@ruouttaurmind
Warren Buffet's in for two!
@PocketBrain Jimmy Buffett says it's five o'clock somewhere.
@nadroj like now, for example?
these mysteriously don't work when sweaty, right?
These watches actually are selling on Amazon for $49.99 right now. However, just before Christmas, the price was actually less than $10. Heres the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Heart-Monitor-Watch-Calorie-Counter/dp/B0080JU3KA/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1425961634&sr=8-12&keywords=Oregon+Scientific+Heart+Rate+Monitor+Watch
The point is, this is a shitty deal!
@Echizen84 @PocketBrain Lowest price on Amazon was $2.11 on December 26, 2013. http://camelcamelcamel.com/Heart-Monitor-Watch-Calorie-Counter/product/B0080JU3KA
@cengland0 December 26, 2013 must have been the day @snapster stocked up on these - in anticipation of selling them on meh.com
@cengland0 that's awesome. So, $4.22 for two, plus what, $5 for shipping? And you just need a time machine to take advantage of that deal.
@PocketBrain beat me to it. :)
If I bought these, I could watch my heart slowly give up on life a little more for every meh on here.
velvety-adamant-cow
these came out in 2011, my guess many will have a dead or almost dead battery so factor that in (says one year battery life). Also doesn't mention being water proof which IMO makes a sports like watch useless in my book
If I buy this wrist crap will I get another Insteon IP camera delivered instead?
Also beware, other reviews online mention the band is not too big, made more for women or men with smaller wrist
@shade_tree That's why you get two...so you can daisy chain them for a man-sized wrist.
@shade_tree perfect...cheap treasures fer the litlins
@shade_tree yes, was too small for me.
@gregormehndel that's because it is a "timeless" vehicle.
@RedOak I see what you did there, and I like it.
I want these for the heart rate monitoring function, but if they suck even at 2 for $9 they are not worthy. Anyone have one of these? Does it do the heart rate monitoring decent?
@Stallion That's my question. My HRM just gave up the ghost after a decade, but I don't get how this is supposed to work without a chest strap.
@Stallion Samers. My guess is they're pretty bad at it -- most of the fingertip-sensor devices I've seen are terribly inaccurate.
@Stallion not big enough for my wrists. I ended up gifting the two that I bought last time.
@ACraigL Agreed. No chest strap, no bueno. I've heard that the new fitness trackers that use optical sensors on the wrist (like the Fitbit Surge) are actually quite accurate, but I have yet to try one of those myself.
Thank you meh.com for making it easy to not buy anything today.
(obsolete week is in full swing it seems @snapster)
@unixrab a little foreshadowing :)
@unixrab didn't you buy the router yesterday?
@nadroj indeed. an obsolete router to use solely as a signal repeater :-)
If they had at least retro 80s style, I might have bit. But looking like a fossil watch? Meh.
why the hell not! Stocking up stocking stuffers/white elephant gifts! military-milky-cushion!
>
@discmaster it means you have a clogged artery in one of your arms. Call 911 and/or proceed immediately to the ER.
It doesn't say what version of android this runs? Is it compatible with my iwatch?
Why did you buy more of these things??? They're not even good enough for anchors. Not to mention that they don't even have a backlight. They are not obsolete, they were crap from the getgo.

Previous Watch:
@cengland0 here: https://meh.com/deals/oregon-scientific-one-touch-heart-rate-monitor-with-calorie-counter
@cengland0 Still useless if you're trying to use an erg.
Almost all smart watches are pretty stupid. You need your phone nearby on Bluetooth (potential security hole for the right people).
These are just cheaper stupid watches.
@OnionSoup Not true. My smartwatch still functions without my phone nearby. I might be missing some smart features but I can still get my fitness info and the time.
@cengland0 If you want the features that this watch lacks though youll need your phone nearby.
@OnionSoup Mine is stand-alone. Doesn't need a phone!
They got me... in for one (or two or whatever).
flimsy-motionless-leaf
I'm afraid to order this out of fear Meh will send me speaker docks instead.
@sjk3 I'd love speaker docks! I could use a few more of them... You know how those companies give you extra if it's your refund check... I wonder how many extra speaker docks they'd send me if I used my refund check...
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
. . wouldn't buy it even if it did actually.
I'm going to wear one on each wrist and meditate until I can get them measuring two different heart rates. MIND OVER MATTER!
Two-fer here, three-fer there, I wonder if alibaba has a four-fer going on those lousy bluetooth bracelets also seen on MCR.
Any chance we will see those contigo shake and go tumblers again on a 2-fer? I already lost all the straws...
if it was waterproof i would buy.
@dtumd true dat. Nothing on water resistance.
Well, now that a lot of the sarcastic comments are out of the way, I'll just point out that I kinda wanted a HR monitor. "I like two watch."
I'm disappointed that there were no snarky Hulk jokes. In the Edward Norton film, Bruce Banner wore one to monitor his condition. When it reached 200 bpm, BLAMMO! Hulk! LOL
send them
Meh... I'll stick with my Moto 360 for now.
@jmckinl Ditto. I love it too. I have the one with the metal band.
What is the back of these watches made of? I'm allergic to metal, but if they're stainless steel I'm usually okay. Anybody?
@Chakolate The backs are marked stainless steel so you should be good!
@Moose Mercy buckups!
anyone know if these are water resist/water proof? I do construction and wouldn't mind having a watch I can beat up. @Dengue My health insurance just sent me a free pedometer. It doesn't talk to anything, and it hooks to a belt. I'm a girl, we don't usually wear belts.
@OldCatLady That's cool! Who is your provider? Send it to me, I wear belts every day, lol.
Got it for the gym. Already have a FitBit One for steps, calories, etc. But would like something cheap for heart rate.

This product makes me long for the speaker docks we will probably see tomorrow.
Wow! It's amazing how much shit this thing can't do. I want one!
Hey Meh, I bet you guys wish you would have sold more of these. Terrible job not selling this one out.
Uh Oh Friday speaker dock and watch combo
Mine arrived today, and the one I opened works well. Possibly the poor reviews on other sites arose because the directions don't specifically tell you to peel the film off the front and back, and it isn't conspicuous. Pulse rate sensor and stopwatch work fine, calorie calculator seems good. Easy setup. Reasonably comfortable, but I wish it came in pink.
@OldCatLady I love purple.
@OldCatLady but apple and or google and or fitbit wont be able to build a profile about you to sell you stuff with that dumb watch... so sad ;)
@OldCatLady you can never have too much bling.
these watches are total junk - continuous false readings, and can't even attach to wrist easily at all - I want to send the things back, but I am having trouble seeing how to - any help please and thanks?

Q: What's your return policy?
A: If it's damaged, defective, or just DOA, we'll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it.We DO NOT accept returns if you just decided you didn't want it, don't like the color, or just feeling a little buyer's remorse. You might try eBay - with as cheap as you probably got it, you could even end up making a little off it. Or hone your reputation for generosity by giving it to someone a little less picky.
Pulse monitor does not work on one of two ordered
@ShaDo Sounds like you should contact meh.com/support for your non-working watch.
got my watches the other day ..not bad for the price. Pretty sturdy. Nice size display. Really can't complain. Good enough...
