@2palms Those Wyze cams are amazing. Amazing product packaging. Amazingly simple and functional app. Amazingly inexpensive. Impressive video quality for cheap. Works with Alexa and your Amazon video device. Alerts include Smoke detector.
My biggest concern? How can their economics work at $20/camera + shipping ($26 locally @ Microcenter) over the the long term? And 14 days of cloud storage free…
Personally, I don’t care if my shit catches on fire. After it leaves my toilet, have at it you sad arsonists cowards!! My STUFF, Now, that’s a whole other ball gams!! I Love Stuff & Love gettin more Stuff!! Butt my shit; Let Her Burn!! OH, that & I’m running short on money close to the end of the month, plus I don’t take pictures!
@fastharry I’m one of the idiots who bought these useless pieces of shit that don’t complete setup. 44 of us got screwed; be glad you’re not one of us.
@wilw sorry…but look at the bright side. The people who bought the 360 degree camera 3 days after your deal are really in for a rough time…cause that thing has POS written all over it…
Got a couple return ones in Fuko. One really didn’t work at all. The other however has worked fine. Easy enough to pair and to look in to see what is happening. Personally like the FDT ones that came in same fuko a bit better than this and than the zmodo ones.
Just a heads up, I bought 2 of these kits from Morningsave earlier this year and there are some issues they are either unaware of or don’t disclose. After numerous exchanges with hubble support it appears the tags have chipset issues that will cause the following: No battery reporting and a disconnection after X period of time that the app won’t be aware of. So you’ll think your tags are still paired but they’ll report nothing. This usually happens in under a day. Ie. Don’t buy these for the tag functionality. I was told this cannot be fixed via firmware either. The cameras themselves are not bad but I do catch them rebooting randomly once in a while. These ain’t Motorola goods. They’re licensed.
The reviews are terrible. The only 5 star reviews seem fake and it still averages 3 stars. G’luck using these cameras. Fyi meh, I might risk it if these were 30 bucks a pair. MIGHT. I try not to throw money at customer tested garbage.
@mwarren There’s open source firmware for that Wyze camera. I bought one a few weeks ago to play with it, but the Wyze software is working well enough that I haven’t gotten around to it.
The Wyze sells for about $25 on Amazon. With Prime shipping and my credit card cash back it’s a little cheaper and faster than buying directly.
I’ve priced buying the Xiaomi camera the Wyze is based on, but it’s not really cheaper (and a lot slower if shopped from China).
Do NOT buy these cameras… They lose connection and have to be rebooted to get them to work again. Total waste of Money and Tech support thru motorola is ridiculous. We are on our 12th day of B.S.
Again, nice pic but crapy network card. These stalled from the beginning. I finally got around to contacting the company and after 16 days of emails and horrible customer services, I have given up. If you don’t mind your video stalling out, and requiring a physical reset these are good for you the video is GOOD. Otherwise again SAVE YOUR MONEY… it would not be so bad if the customer service did not absolutely SUCK!

Meh
In before @fastharry 's comment of the day
O Motorola;
Radios and mobile phones;
Should have stuck to those.
Got one in a fuko. I set it up. It worked.
A 1080p camera when 4k has become the norm. Now if you just reduce the price to give us a deal we can’t refuse. Or is that another website now?
@hchavers I prefer the lower resolution – it makes it more of a guessing game as to what the hell the cat is up to
@mayberrym …See?..It isn’t just me…Meh is changing business models…
It’s another of a dozen websites…
There seems to be a disparity here: 1080p cameras provide 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, or 2.1 megapixels.
Is this some new Moto Magic?
@2many2no Nothing says top-notch images like extrapolated pixels!
Hm I’m not sure why not just buy a pair of Wyze cams for full price and save $20. Anyone have experience w both?
@2palms Because maybe you don’t want your video sent to non-AWS servers in China, Germany, etc without your permission like Wyze does.
@2palms @gaijin4life
Wasn’t Wyze developed by former Amazon employees who use AWS for the cloud service?

@2palms @RedOak you had me at amazing product packaging.
@gaijin4life … Not only does Wyze use AWS, but it also does end to end encryption.
Boom - roasted…
Any way to get these to work with a typical NAS setup?

@decoratedwarvet Ball gams? Legs for the testes?
almost 14,000 visits and 44 bought?..Uh, not a good ROI. And certainly not a sustainable business model.
@fastharry good thing we dont sell the same thing every day
@troy hope springs eternal…and you are right, so good luck tomorrow. Nothing would make me happier to buy again…
@fastharry @troy
Check out Meh Encore on MorningSave in a few days. Maybe this will be there.

It’s ugly
Got a similar cam in a fuko, found out which cat relieves itself on the basement floor, have no more use for it.
@callow The cat or the cam?

Moto still has a Wyze to go (Wyzecam - $19⁹⁹, 2 weeks free storage). The smart tags and SD cards are interesting, but are they $9⁵⁰ interesting?

Just got these.
Downloaded Android app, created Hubble account, turned camera on and the app found it…success, right?
Neither will complete pairing. Joy. 0/3 For meh sourced WiFi camera’s so far .
@joxxer42
Update 1: First attempt failed using Essential Phone with Android 9. Second attempt was with a Nokia 6.1 using Android 8.1, this successfully paired.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PURCHASE THESE CAMERAS. I have had nothing but trouble with the cameras AND with tech support. I finally sent the cameras to their Carmel, IN address and no I get NO response from anyone. Check their BBB status. They have a habit of not answering issues. https://www.bbb.org/us/in/carmel/profile/baby-accessories/binatone-north-america-0382-90017838/complaints
