@cengland0 totally OK with these guys.
I use them for everything, last night I had a nice bowl of cereal out of one. And the freezer things fit great at the bottom of my lunch bag.
@Yoda_Daenerys My logic is if I didn’t buy it in June, what changed in my life that would make me want to buy it today?
That being said, it does surprise me how many more they sell when they offer the same item more than once. Must be new users that just joined or people that bought one, liked it and wanted more. Or maybe casual users that don’t check every day and missed it the first time. Who knows?!?!?
@cengland0 it might be related ot how many glasses of wine the aMeh.rican has had at the time of checking the sale. can i get an AMEN! to that @oldcatlady?
@cengland0 School is coming…perfect for the kids. Not thinking about it in June. Bought two packs of two in late August while in June I thought, “meh.” Well played, Meh. Well played.
@Yoda_Daenerys Yes, and a hallelujah or two also. Scuse me, I have to run out for a box of wine; the 11 AM update on Tropical Depression 9 will probably say it’s now an official Storm, which makes bread, wine, beer and other things vanish from shelves. A BIG box. Maybe two.
/giphy wine box
@yakkoTDI You know, now that I think about it… it probably was blue cheese. Those cheese chunks really interacted with the croutons to create a forbidden flavor dance, yet leaving enough room for the bacon to cut in and show them how it’s done.
@awk I would sometimes leave the Hidden Ranch Dressing on the counter for a few days. Voila, Blue Cheese, or something like that. Tangy, with a hint of decomposition. Talk about flavor dance! More of a trot actually.
I still haven’t gotten around to using these since I got them the first time they were on here (that or I’m confusing them with one of the other freezer lunch containers, I have er… a few.). It’s too small for the amount of lettuce/salad I’d want to have for my lunch. But I did steal the dressing container last time I wanted some sauce to go on perogis for lunch and it worked, so… win?
@Jamileigh17 Not to state the obvious, but you know that they expand, right? It holds a pretty righteous salad when expanded, but they do seem small at first.
@jakeline Salad is pretty compressible too. I can’t imagine not being able to cram all the baby spinach I could eat into one of these. @Jamileigh17 Are you Popeye?
@jakeline I know. Usually when I make salads, they’re about half a head of lettuce+ , dressing and toppings. Lunch is normally my main meal of the day though, so lots of protein on it.
Dang that loaded slow tonight. Anyone else or was it just my router or something?
Side note - I bought these some other time they were sold here. They’re fine. Quality is decent. The rubber expandable part sometimes gets stained, and the design of he ice tray also acting as compartments in a few of them sucks because I can’t pack food the night before. Also you can’t really use them even partially collapsed with the tray on top, not even a sandwich fits.
That said, they make for fine food storage, I have just found I don’t use them as much as I thought I would. Perhaps the salad eating crowd disagrees as these seem more suited for that purpose.
@aristan just wondering, why are all the zebras in your giphy? looks like they all got stuck in a zebra wash…guess they were just have a ball rolling around in there …maybe they were just trying to horse around a little …
@Glucose Do you get much use out of the cup-in-cup and bowl-in-bowl? I like the covered container but I’m scratching my head on how to use those other two.
Do you suppose it would keep wild boar meat fresh? I am thinking of gift ideas for Ted Nugent’s birthday. He might also enjoy…Region Free Blu-ray Player!!!
As an assertive and intelligent woman who grew up in the affluent Baltimore suburb of Towson, Maryland, I love a big salad. That is why I love these Cool Gear Ez-FreezeExpandable Salad Kits!!! I bring my big salad to my job at a retail company that sells clothing and fashion accessories primarily through catalogs and the Internet and I can keep it at my desk to keep the ice box raiders from picking at it (I am looking at you Toby). The big salad remains crisp and cool thanks to the Cool Gear Ez-Freeze Expandable Salad Kits’ non-toxic gel filled freezer tray and the dressing container with a leak proof cap that rests neatly into the freezer tray. It makes me want to dance!
I got 8 in blue and of course I got VMP… because, get out!!! It’s the best deal in daily deal shipping!!!
@Yoda_Daenerys I am totally not a robot, I like to go into sea and swing my arms and move around in water and then take a ball and throw at other human and then he throws the ball to me and then I take the ball and throw at other human and then he throws the ball to me and then I take the ball and throw at other human. Can anybody relate?
A lot of the crap I’ve bought on meh has broken or been outright just terrible (my bem clock radio and Neato robot vacuum are THE WORST and I hope their companies go bankrupt and die in respective fires).
…BUT these Cool Gears are actually pretty awesome. I use them for my lunch box every day. I like the bento box version better because it comes with little containers that fit the top compartment.
You can find little containers to (kind of) fit this one too. On Amazon, search for “EasyLunchboxes Mini Dippers Small Dip, Condiment, or Sauce Containers” or “CuteZCute Mini Condiment Mayo Container for Bento Lunch Box”. Both of these should fit, although not as snugly as the ones that come with the bento box version.
@Ayanami You really have that bad of luck on Meh?
I’ve had a few hiccups but it usually always end up in me getting an upgrade… And Meh has top notch customer support
@Glucose My Neato refurb died shortly after the 6 month (?) warranty, so not meh’s problem. I contacted Neato and they were absolutely useless. But it’s worth noting that this was my most expensive meh purchase, and it is now a $180 brick.
The Bem clock radio was terrible from the start and was what really soured me on meh. I contacted both meh and bem at around the 30 day mark. They both tried to punt the problem to the other. Twice. It took something like five emails before Bem eventually said “yea fine we’ll fix it, but you have to ship that crappy piece of crap back to us on your own dime.”
Oh, and I’m forgetting that awful $15 Meep tablet. But meh was totally up front about that and flat out said “this is crap, don’t buy it.” I bought it anyway. It was crap. Even after I rooted it, it was still crap. I’d give it away for free but it’s not even worth the shipping cost. Well, actually, it’d be worth it to ship it to someone I hate. It was that bad. But again, meh gets a pass on this one. They totally warned me about that one.
@Ayanami Ouch. I’ll admit that tablet was really the worst thing I purchased, probably ever. But I didn’t buy anything else you had issues with. I’ve had a few defective items. Like my BlendTec blender had the motor blow in a week, BlendTec actually upgraded me to a $430 blender. The $80 vacuum died, I was out on that one. The shitty portable record player I got two of, one I gifted the other broke. Sent it off to the company (They paid shipping) forgot about it and they sent me an upgraded model, ended up just selling it. $80 tablet is decent for what it is, the $180 tablet was a great deal but I received it broken during shipping, Meh is sending me a new one. (really just using them for my Drone)
They pretty much tell you exactly what you’re buying though ya’ know. Sorry you got the shit end of the stick though.
Edit: A friend owns the same model of the tablet, It really was a good deal at $180. Good enough that I’ll actually use it for other things aside from my drone.
@Crood Not this American, I use 1 ounce at most. Usually just a bit of olive oil (some fat is required for absorption of certain nutrients) and a lot of vinegar and maybe some dried herbs. Sometimes I thin down some fat free yogurt and add herbs/spices. Most bottled dressings disgust me. Don’t even get me started on Ranch
@HemlockTea Sounds like you know how to make a delicious salad. When I am at a salad bar and I watch people make their salad I always say in my mind “Are you going to have any salad with that dressing?” I love korean salad dressings. Wayyy less fat and sugar. Light and tasty.
@HemlockTea I would pack pure animal lard in the one compartment, gluten and corn syrup in the other compartment. Sprinkle with a few alfalfa sprouts- it’s delish. It’s a vldl friendly food combination!
I bought these the first time with the blue bento containers and the green one with the small salad dressing squeeze bottle, like today’s offering. The next time Meh offered two of the green ones with the dressing squeeze bottle, I bought two more. These green containers are perfect for me. I mix up a mustard and vinegar dressing in the squeeze bottle and fill the bottom up with shredded cabbage (cole slaw) and put a 3 oz piece of grilled chicken in the top container area. This all goes in the refrigerator over night and the next morning I throw it in a bag and off to work I go. The green container keeps everything chilled until lunch time. And they store nicely because the bottom container collapses.
These containers have directly contributed to a successful weight loss diet plan. I have lost 50lbs. or about 25% of my original body mass.
These are great. I bought a set of three a while back. I keep two of them in my office desk (as a reminder of the two times I brought lunch to work this year and forgot to take them home). I keep the last one at home as a reminder of how I planned to be healthy and save money at lunch, but never can remember to actually make the lunch. Full disclosure, sometimes the one at home stays on the counter with the lunch I remembered to make, but forgot to bring to work…meh
This is a great item. I bought the 3-pack of different ones a couple months ago and I use the salad box almost every day. A lot of salad fits in the bottom of the container and it’s nice and tall so when you combine everything it can be stirred easily. I love it! I wish I could buy this but I missed out because they were already marked sold out when I checked this morning.
I bought some of the round cool gear salad containers (first purchase) and really liked them. But last time the freezer piece slid down and I couldn’t get it apart and I wound up with salad all over my lap (at the Redskins training camp). I hope these come apart better.

It better be bacon salad!
@ELUNO If you add bacon to a salad, it becomes an Entree and you have to struggle through the lettuce to get to the BACON!!!
@growyoungagain Struggling through the lettuce is all the exercise I get for the day, so that is the only good reason to have salad with your bacon.
Lettuce begin again – laggy tonight but I managed to sandwich some time to post here…
Exact same product and price as offered on 6/7/2016. Come on meh, let’s have some variety in what you sell.
@cengland0 Yeah! What @cengland0 said!
@cengland0 Yeah! We need more deals to make us got WOOT! and not meh.
@yakkoTDI meh be meh woot?
@cengland0 why was i not at all interested that night, but tonight i might buy 3? come on, tell me ceng land zero, huh?

Good timing…just what I need.

@mcqdew that picture bugs me…:)
I like this simplistic logic that eating “salad” is a one-way ticket to Healthytown.
Makes me feel good about my signature “just croutons, bacon, and ranch dressing” salad, which I ate all the time in college.
@awk That’s disgusting! Why not blue cheese instead of ranch?
@yakkoTDI You know, now that I think about it… it probably was blue cheese. Those cheese chunks really interacted with the croutons to create a forbidden flavor dance, yet leaving enough room for the bacon to cut in and show them how it’s done.
@awk that badically sounds like a dehydrated bacon sandwich dipped in ranch. You. Are. My. Hero.
@awk I would sometimes leave the Hidden Ranch Dressing on the counter for a few days. Voila, Blue Cheese, or something like that. Tangy, with a hint of decomposition. Talk about flavor dance! More of a trot actually.

Needed to update my shipping address anyway…

@alexthegirl yes slower than molasses tonight
@alexthegirl … Worked smoothly for me, I must’ve gotten in during a lax.
/image portable bento
now there is something amusing
@sp3ar Time to play “Lunchbox or home network storage device?”
I feel like I would need three of these for the amount of lettuce I would need to eat to feel full.
@RiotDemon and feel hungry again in a couple of hours!
I almost bought these, and then realized I do not use the ones I currently have. It is a really nice concept, just not that practical for me.
Now if it were bigger…
Seeing as we’ve developed a craving for spinach salads lately, seems like a good reason to get these.

All I can say is thanks for greatly improving my lunch packing solutions.
@koifish Loved the camping set. I was literally looking around to buy a cheap set the night it sold.
@Glucose Do you get much use out of the cup-in-cup and bowl-in-bowl? I like the covered container but I’m scratching my head on how to use those other two.
