@drz Stainless insides. It appears the plastic threads at the top might serve to isolate the inner and outer layers of stainless from each other.
@jmhsrv No, they don't leak as long as you put the top on solidly. . . and don't leave residual liquid on the threads. And they keep hot stuff hot amazingly. Like all day.
WAHOO! no ice or baby arm, but we get someone's hand holding a glass measuring cup... may be worth it just for the measuring cup... may not having to deal with the police trying to figure out who's hand...
@narahari That's odd. I have the 24 oz ones, and I knock the dang things over at least once a day. No problems yet, except when I forget to close the lids.
@RedOak hmmm...didn't think of it - just filled the form and sent it - it was super easy, hopefully will get a replacement unit quickly. Thanks for reminding me :).
@yugrudfooz Tip for removing coffee stains on cups, mugs, plastic or to clean inside containers that are hard to reach. Buy some denture cleaning tablets like Polident. But water inside item or in case of lid put in small bowl of water -- just enough to cover. Add tablets ( for a lid like this one should be fine) and let it soak awhile. Rinse well unless you want a fresh minty smell on your item.
@yakkoTDI Nope, I only leave when I absolutely have to. There's Trump supporters are out there after all! 😲 (I just found out this evening that my 80 year old father is a "Trumporter"... I sure hope this red flag doesn't indicate that insanity runs in our family. 😱 )
@PhysAssist When have we ever paid the amazon price here at Meh? based on the savings on the 24oz, They would sell these for ~ $6. I'd buy the 72oz for $6.
I bought these last time they were offered, and I use one every day. I'm thinking of asking one or both of them to marry me. I've always wanted to marry someone named Bubba.
@djslack@RedOak That's to take to work or wherever and share your special brew (or hot chocolate) with a friend. Or not. You can just drink your special whatever yourself all day at work. I am waiting for the 5 gallon size for picnics and camping.
My guess is that the 20 oz didn't sell as well because everyone already bought the 24 oz and didn't think it was enough different.
How about try getting some 16 oz HERO bubbas and see if you can attract the same audience again? I might even buy some of those to complement the 24 oz.
However, don't go for the 12 oz. I have seen those in person and they seem a bit to small.
Tempted. I love the two I have already, and they really do work like the original video says. I use mine for water and ice only, my wife uses the other for iced tea.
Can anyone attest to whether the opening is large enough to fit a smallish hand inside? I love SS thermoses like these but it drives me nuts if I can't reach the bottom to scrub.
Note the inside is completely smooth. Looks to be a perfect cylinder inside until it closes in slightly at the top. Would be very easy to slosh around a dish rag on the end of a spatula to clean down there.
@RedOak Thanks! I may be able to get into that since that seems to be about the size of a regular mason jar lid. Might have to jump on this deal so I can toss all my random broken crap.
@Thumperchick Me too. I keep buying them from meh and my cupboard overflows. I would really like a nice big couple /few gallon sized one for picnics. They only seem to have plastic ones anymore. My mom used to have one of those plaid metal ones w/ a spigot that she would fill with lemonade or her special punch.
@ceagee ACK!! Flashback! We had one of those green and white Coleman jugs that Mom filled with grape juice when we spent the day at the lake. Good times.
@beachbum Yeah, we had one of these 'back in the day'... made the mistake of filling it with hot apple cider for a bonfire one time and the interior got totally deformed when it cooled off and the pressure changed. Apparently they were better for cold stuff due to the the plastic inside parts....
Also, yay for brand names. My angst with these kinds of mugs as sold by private labelers like Starbucks is lack of replacement parts for the losable, meltable, breakable lid while the base sits around uselessly waiting for the sun to supernova. Thanks (O)Bubba!
I guess @studerc never made it to that fucking alley next to that janky ass pawn shop. I'm usually just lurking, but I'm emerging from the shadows this morning to call him out.
@hems79 Well fuck...that's the last time that I get a concussion on top of my 5 month old getting a cold. Still over half the day left...maybe I just got lost. Goat damnit, @jaremelz
@studerc Well, I was going to tell you to fuck off, but my kid got a moderate concussion last week, and that shit isn't fun. I better just walk away from this one
I have the 20 oz version from a few weeks ago. While they do hold a good deal of coffee (double press from my Saeco Odea Giro), the lids deformed within a week and leak now. The paint is still holding up after ~3 weeks though.
@PSUClaus1 I have NOT put them in the dishwasher; Over the last few years, I've found that any insulated mug with a vacuum/air gap/chamber, even those that claim to be dishwasher safe, take on water in dishwashers. Additionally, our hot water heater is a set pretty low to save energy and not scald. I checked out the warranty, you have to give them a bunch of information, then send them very specific photos of the mug in question.
@CaffeineGuy I have washed both my 24oz Bubbas multiple times in the dishwasher and had it set on sanitize (high heat), though I did keep the lid on the top rack. No issues with deforming the plastic or any leaks as far as I can tell.
@kuoh It's just the soft plastic/rubber cap that is deformed, not the entire lid; When I first got them, I could fill them with coffee and tip/invert them without spilling a drop. After ~20 uses, and a few dozen open/close cycles per use, they no longer can be inverted without dripping.
Goat damnit people, what do you want from me? First a concussion, and then a sick baby...and I'm STILL expected to get out the Twofer Tuesday post on time? Sorry, not sorry. :)
Here we go...
Yet again, we all find ourselves at the corner of impulsivity and temptation as we round the corner near that janky ass pawn shop on the wrong side of town. Suddenly, the clouds above open up and a magnificent rain storm begins. Twofer Tuesday emerges from the shadows mumbling..."finally...er...a....um...my plan....complete...the city's water...POISONED." "In order to survive, you must buy these Bubba Bottles to catch rain water, otherwise, you will die!"...As she begins her diabolical laugh, you interrupt..."um, couldn't people just move away? Then, you know, they wouldn't need these." She stops, you continue. "Yea, not to mention that you dumped a bottle of Windex into the storm drain...that isn't gonna do fucking shit." Twofer Tuesday slumps down, utterly defeated. Winner.
Because of all the people ranting and raving about how great these were the last time they were sold here I purchased 1 set (2). swanky-ulterior-woodchuck
These cups are amazing! We had the occasion to use some liquid oxygen at work and nobody thought to grab some small dewars to move it from the big tank to the testing area. Luckily, I had these in my car so I cleaned them out and filled them (- 297 F). They worked beautifully, used them all day and filled them multiple times. For giggles we left one full and in 18 hours it only lost about half the LOX.
Thumbs up.
Disclaimer: These are not rated for Liquid Oxygen. I would strongly recommend against doing this because you'll probably blow your own face off!
I thought the 20 ouncers didn't live up to the hype. They work, they even keep things cool, but overnight in my bedroom, not as cold as I expected from the reviews on the bigger ones. (I keep my house pretty cool).
These are a huge disappointment! I have had Bubba cups before and was very satisfied with them, they kept my coffee hot for hours. My coffee is luke warm at best after a couple of hours. I have even tried to pre-heat the cups with hot water first, that did not help. Are these really Bubbas??????????
@wiggy You can try contacting Bubba directly for assistance - they're the warranty for this sale. If yours isn't keeping your coffee hot, that seems like an issue.

@jmhsrv NO!
and
YES!!

@drz Stainless insides. It appears the plastic threads at the top might serve to isolate the inner and outer layers of stainless from each other.

@sohmageek Thought the same thing. Extra hand!
@cinoclav may come in handy at some point...
I fully expect someone to bring on the hand puns... Cough@AttyVette*cough*
@sohmageek Found an awesome deal on an extra hand once. You could say I got it with a five finger discount.
@cinoclav could you point us to it?
@Lotsofgoats Maybe if you grease my palm.
Same shit different day.
already got a pair of these. they're great!. good buy for anyone who's not got them already.
Meh. Bought the 20oz ones last time, the smaller lid on top already broke on one of them.
@narahari did you test the lifetime warranty?
@narahari That's odd. I have the 24 oz ones, and I knock the dang things over at least once a day. No problems yet, except when I forget to close the lids.
@RedOak hmmm...didn't think of it - just filled the form and sent it - it was super easy, hopefully will get a replacement unit quickly. Thanks for reminding me :).
Yessssssssss!! In for two twofers! I love these.
Great cup but the lid gets stained easily.
@yugrudfooz Does it pick up flavors too? I have an amazing coffee cup... but I Can't use it for tea anymore

Please offer us stuff that we can't find in our local big-box store! 😵 I have to justify my VMP membership.
Very Meh for a Tuesday...
@Kerig3 You leave your house? How dare you!! Why do you think Al Gore invented the internet? For porn?
@yakkoTDI Nope, I only leave when I absolutely have to. There's Trump supporters are out there after all! 😲
(I just found out this evening that my 80 year old father is a "Trumporter"... I sure hope this red flag doesn't indicate that insanity runs in our family. 😱 )
if bigger is better, then why aren't you selling us the 72oz Bubba keg??
http://www.amazon.com/Bubba-Keg-Insulated-Mug-Black/dp/B002KDPSYI
@webender This: $17.98 for a "won't even fit in the front console" keg look-a-like...
@PhysAssist When have we ever paid the amazon price here at Meh? based on the savings on the 24oz, They would sell these for ~ $6. I'd buy the 72oz for $6.
@webender I like the 34 oz better- it has the smaller base for car cup holders: http://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/redirect.html/ref=dp_sp_detail_5?ie=UTF8&merchantID=AD6RFAAQRI8WI&originalPageType=Detail&asin=B00SEGB4I4&pl=S3tcuGogRGfcov45%2BI6iV0rF7fJMQkkHuBv9uZ4UI6%2Bc9mMa0zl1tFaxKIamA4oEM%2BWdUiWXniVgUvnz%2BBf4o4Xevleuj1sNHodvmX6OodZGuDX6sIcL8cwDGZJp3VePrytGDOmQMY8f2WXRr2j6sQq5LqcMgX%2BOGmyDkh5zoz9fYscplXgToD4l0J%2BT6wbtf32YGFe20%2Fojjxa%2FqiAV%2BR8GC5zOjrm4YvDJJWnF6akEtaZ%2FE2cB%2FR1kwGIp72tq%2BRWIOl8O082uDJEubsdRMxeaJxiO4wkTpCjTSgjT%2Bbsy7JPG4a6S02IYqHblMkrckGV72Geow2gDpcTUot1bD1T9hCA33sTw3pzRDbraJhmken%2Btt5LwSNebB0C8J0Zzl3bpbCiL%2F6NJDpldoVXWxtJV2WN7luIdHUZ0BLhXqGfkpB3T9Wac4mATLgUcrMjUiurr5UxtTLaxZmq9wzLDztACKu%2BXBZ4IiOwz0082WJ8UBUV%2F4tYA2kd8Wg719jKTtCMKqz9FuYepr3bOF590suMZU1D9Lp17UWjkkXsPggwLB6hPE21fpHfQrl8IIora0LF6wAi6gM1n5BvQZUXn5IXZK%2Bw1TFQS6Nz0ugW2QSplwODxxQkRu5OFVAAVlegeJORepYcSUoPMcqyMuc4VmrRKYljaTHSYCyvCMs%2FWsTzmeWlU2gCqqqLRgy%2Bsgja2Tlyk9rhhhgc06LkbchGbmIfJ%2Fg1%2Bm%2FWlQHiIRiTausmDglvCg85NuggWtmJ9ZYGhiBEBWEjs%2F%2FXVluC7%2BVpFoBOwl3lPg0HJ8gcI4zduR0fDl1%2BLJekbcaVp30CVoTYLui0WgtzFkk1qMjUjh9tX8Q9j6tZtvl%2BuOqurRGUDgUo%3D&token=2845169D97D6C26C39505FCB47B7FC8D9EBD54D0
@Meh - I would buy either one of these
I bought these last time they were offered, and I use one every day. I'm thinking of asking one or both of them to marry me. I've always wanted to marry someone named Bubba.
Got 6 of these the last time they were 2fer. They are great but I don't need more. Unless of course you have a yellow one. Do you have a yellow one?
@yakkoTDI spray paint. The black portion in the middle is already paint so it should take nicely.
@yakkoTDI "yellow" better buy one
@yakkoTDI Special kind to use on metal.
If you sell the smaller ones again, I'm totally in!!!
Oh, but science has come up with a 48 ounce bubba:
@djslack that is cool. But while the 24's fit all our cupholders, that one might be asking for trouble!
@djslack @RedOak That's to take to work or wherever and share your special brew (or hot chocolate) with a friend. Or not. You can just drink your special whatever yourself all day at work.
I am waiting for the 5 gallon size for picnics and camping.
@ceagee Hey, now you're talking. We'd use a 5 gallon model along with the following wonderful meh-sourced contraption as a hot shower tank.
Been using a CanCooker and dumping that into a 5-gallon bucket. No insulation.
The smaller ones really are better overall. Both sizes are great for keeping things cold or hot for hours.
@uwacn we like them equally for their purposes. But I suppose if you have dainty cupholders, the 20's might be a closer match.
Darn you Meh, why is ordering so easy!
@blandreth94 Yep. Damn it...
Hubba Hubba
My guess is that the 20 oz didn't sell as well because everyone already bought the 24 oz and didn't think it was enough different.
How about try getting some 16 oz HERO bubbas and see if you can attract the same audience again? I might even buy some of those to complement the 24 oz.
However, don't go for the 12 oz. I have seen those in person and they seem a bit to small.
@DataMeister I was one of those people that didn't buy the 20 oz one because I bought the 24 oz one. I would definitely buy a mini version though.
Tempted. I love the two I have already, and they really do work like the original video says. I use mine for water and ice only, my wife uses the other for iced tea.
Opps i did it again, Loved it the last time, i got it this time. Umm I'm talking about my BuBBa .
The big bottles are good, but the 20 oz were better. Wish you'd sell a 16 oz. WOuld buy the 20 again. Good on the big bubbas.
Incredible. Love these.
Looking forward to laughing at my Yeti cult friends when my Bubba still has ice while theirs has melted away.
Can anyone attest to whether the opening is large enough to fit a smallish hand inside? I love SS thermoses like these but it drives me nuts if I can't reach the bottom to scrub.
@jbrookebarrow only a baby hand.
@jbrookebarrow Just measured - about 1-3/4 inches.
@jbrookebarrow see cleaning tip posted above under the stained lid comment.
NOPE. Summer is over, and margaritas no longer require a stainless steel, vacuum walled container.
@alacrity what about hot stuff?
@RedOak ? hot margaritas? that's kinda counter intuitive, yeah?
@alacrity You misspelled "gin and tonic".
@alacrity what about hot chocolate with [favorite alcohol] added?
@craigthom yes. yes, I did. I use my Contigo's for that (no straw req'd).
@Al_Coholic um... to be honest, my idea of hot chocolate is a Hershey bar melted onto Jessica Alba.
@craigthom - You misspelled "jynnan tonnyx".
@Al_Coholic - Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps! Nom nom
@alacrity get a Blendtec and about 8 of these and you can have that too!
@KDemo That was one of my first ideas too. Yum.
Well, I'm back to VMP.
Tall-offbeat-business
@Pantheist How did you find a pic of Bubba? Heard he's kinda a recluse.
2x2 happy holidays young nephew and your gf and two other somewhat lucky somebodies
If you're on the fence, these are a no-brainer for inexpensive Christmas gifts.
I want this, but I have so many drinking implements that purchasing more would be folly. Even if they are super cool.
@ceagee oh man plaid metal when this country stood for something
@borisparsley
This isn't the same plaid but close enough. :
This metal one isn't plaid, it came after. It had some plastic. eh gads !
@ceagee ACK!! Flashback!
Ah yes, I've been waiting for this day...
average-elite-truck
@dtl_dvl That's a very eccentric small home - have seen photos of the very clever and efficient insides.
Also, yay for brand names. My angst with these kinds of mugs as sold by private labelers like Starbucks is lack of replacement parts for the losable, meltable, breakable lid while the base sits around uselessly waiting for the sun to supernova. Thanks (O)Bubba!
Tart-boring-boat
@fuddledumpers gotta love Bubba!
These are great, would recommend to anyone they actually live up to their billing from last time! Previously in for 2 x 2, so good for now.
I passed on the 20s when I saw all the pining here for the 24s of yore, so today I return in triumph. Veni vidi bubba!
Welp, I did it. In for 4 -- someone's getting Xmas presents! hairy-toothless-lithium
@kalira wow... so picturesque
@kalira They need to hire this person to play Arse Face on AMCs Preacher. They would save a lot of time on makeup.
OK, so I am now officially a VMP member and just did my first Meh purchase... whohoo...
@chienfou Welcome to being broke because you spent all of your spare income on shit you didn't really need :)
But seriously, welcome to Meh
@chienfou Welcome to the crazies!
@capguncowboy already do that at w@@t, This will be the rent money... (which is sorely overrated!)
I guess @studerc never made it to that fucking alley next to that janky ass pawn shop. I'm usually just lurking, but I'm emerging from the shadows this morning to call him out.
@hems79 lets blame @jaremelz
@communist Hey, you. Yeah you....
12 for 2? :) or 2 for 12
Back on the VMP train. Don't let me down, Meh....
known-atomic-crime
I have the 20 oz version from a few weeks ago. While they do hold a good deal of coffee (double press from my Saeco Odea Giro), the lids deformed within a week and leak now. The paint is still holding up after ~3 weeks though.
@CaffeineGuy they have a lifetime warranty. Try to get replacements and keep them on the top rack of your molten hot dishwasher ;)
KuoH
@kuoh It's just the soft plastic/rubber cap that is deformed, not the entire lid; When I first got them, I could fill them with coffee and tip/invert them without spilling a drop. After ~20 uses, and a few dozen open/close cycles per use, they no longer can be inverted without dripping.
These are quite possibly the greatest water bottles ever! In for 6 more! I put different color hair ties around them to tell them apart.
Waited too long, read too many forum posts, my lack of impulsivity angered the meh overlords.
@studerc Not over the concussion yet, eh?
Because of all the people ranting and raving about how great these were the last time they were sold here I purchased 1 set (2). swanky-ulterior-woodchuck
damn, missed this again.
@sk00t3r yet another benefit of working 2nd shift...I got in for 2 sets early.
These are great. They can keep a drink with ice cold for up to 24 hours. Hot drinks stay hot a long time too.
@MuddyG But how does the mug know if it should keep your drink hot OR keep it cold?
@CaffeineGuy Dark magic.....
They brought back the big ones instead of searching for even smaller ones! Bah!
How can I give you money when you didn't have enough for me to buy???
These cups are amazing! We had the occasion to use some liquid oxygen at work and nobody thought to grab some small dewars to move it from the big tank to the testing area. Luckily, I had these in my car so I cleaned them out and filled them (- 297 F). They worked beautifully, used them all day and filled them multiple times. Disclaimer: These are not rated for Liquid Oxygen. I would strongly recommend against doing this because you'll probably blow your own face off!
@TenaciousT
@TenaciousT, excellent. @MEHcus should send you a case of these Bubbas as a result of that product test!
@RedOak I would not object!
@RedOak @TenaciousT I'd be completely okay with doing just that...but, you know, we sold out and all
Bought 2 more sets of 2. Haven't even opened or given away 3 of the 4 I bought last time. Apparently I'm a hoarder of Bubba bottles now...
Yes! In for two more sets of 2!
moist-lilac-woodchuck
I thought the 20 ouncers didn't live up to the hype. They work, they even keep things cool, but overnight in my bedroom, not as cold as I expected from the reviews on the bigger ones. (I keep my house pretty cool).
too late again!!!
Meh! Bubba makes terrible products I own the bubba 72oz and it leaks big time
These are a huge disappointment! I have had Bubba cups before and was very satisfied with them, they kept my coffee hot for hours. My coffee is luke warm at best after a couple of hours.
