Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
It's always difficult to deny purchasing something which I feel every one of my friends should own. Think I'll just tell everyone about them instead...
@jaremelz@fuddledumpers Especially if you let said people pet your bubbas. I know I'm quite pleased when the right person pets my bubba and then wants it.
Well look who just showed the fuck up, Twofer Tuesday, that dirty filthy temptress. As we round the corner of impulsivity and temptation as we near that janky ass pawn shop we can't help but hear her chanting from the dark alley. As we approach the alley we discover her sitting on a throne of bubba mugs. "All hail the sorceress who conjures up dark magic to make your beverages hotter for longer AND colder for longer! Bow to my might!" Slow the roll there Twofer....yea they are legit and I'm always gonna max this order...but they are just tumblers.
Look, you want the capacity to hold enough coffee to give your bladder something to do, the temperature control to keep it hot or cold till you finish it, the tight seal to keep it from spilling when you take evasive maneuvers in rush-hour traffic, and the great big one, the ability to just chuck that sucker in the top rack at the end of the day and NOT WORRY ABOUT IT.
Wondering how are these tumblers heroes?? Don't see a Batman, Superman, Fantastic Four etc. in the bunch .. Guess if it's a "Super" deal such as a two for Tuesday, that counts and makes you a hero... For buying them
Dunno anything about Bubba cups other than the two I bought last time work quite well. My son has his coffee stay hot all day, witnessed by the occasional detriment to his lips.
@widijaz agreed these are great, but if your son's coffee stays in these all day, he might not be getting all the vitamins he needs from enough coffee! 24 ouncer Bubbas next time!
Wellll, what do I see here on Meh as I sit here and sip ice cold water out of one of my Bubba 20oz Hero tumblers? More Bubba 20oz Hero tumblers! I think I can officially say I have enough of these in my cabinet now (between the 24oz and 20oz), one for pretty much every kind of drink I drink. I shall have to pass on these this time!
Love the bigger ones. Got a pair of these for a friend first time around and they looked nice, too. Getting these for smaller cupholders. Voluptuous-faulty-dancer
I just bought three sets, after buying a two-pack of the 24 oz. versions. They LITERALLY changed my life.
I now have cold water everywhere I am, at all times, no matter what. Let me demonstrate.
"Oh no," I thought to myself, "I left my bottle in my car for the last hour in Los Angeles heat after putting only five ice cubes in the bottle 8 hours ago. I'm going to get back to boiling hot water!"
"Think not," says Bubba, my water bottle. "Why don't you shake me?"
Without stopping to question when my water bottle learned human speech, much less lofty English, I proceed to do as instructed.
"Ting ting ting," go the ice cubes inside the bottle.
"WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!" I shout loudly, still unconcerned by the talking bottle, but awed by its cold-saving powers.
CUT TO: Eight hours later.
"Oh, man, I'm thirsty, but my water bottle MUST be warm by now."
"Think again," says Bubba, without the least bit of reaction from me. "Try me."
"Okay," I say, with trepidation.
"DID SOMEONE REFILL MY WATER BOTTLE FROM THE REFRIGERATOR?!" I shout as cold water flows into my mouth.
CUT TO: Next morning.
"Oh, gee--"
"Just drink me already, damn it," says the now surly Bubba. I get a little annoyed. A talking water bottle is one thing, but that attitude won't do."
"Fine, I will!" I snap back.
The water is still cold. I hear doves cooing outside. Music wafts through my head. I've found peace.
@mfauske88 I'm referring to the hitherto difference in units sold between the second offerings of the 24 oz. and 20 oz. models. When Meh brought back the 24 oz. a few weeks ago, the flavor text said they did so because the original 24 oz. offering sold better than the subsequent 20 oz. offering. Regardless of whether that was actually the procurement department's analysis or simply an excuse for the day's flavor text, I meant to post the following critique at that time: the difference in sales was due to selling the 20 oz. just 4 weeks after the 24 oz., too soon for demand to recover. Some time has passed since the original offerings, so comparison of today's 20 oz. second offering with the 24 oz. second offering of 3 weeks ago is an econometrically superior method to determine which Bubba size is truly the better seller, aka I told you so.
If today's deal outsells the second 24 oz. offering, Meh should totally hire me (and not just because I'm an unemployed PhD candidate). If it doesn't... well, I guess I'm unemployed for a reason.
That's the thing about marketing. Too many variables. Lots of great products die, crap products get awesome distribution deals that make them a success. Dudes with MBAs want to blame a single factor, when success or failure is almost always a function of all-of-the-above multiplied by right or wrong timing.
I own a Contigo and bought the 24oz last time. The Contigo totally kicks Bubba's hiney for one-handed spill proof operation. I don't care for the heavy click closed or open of the Bubba. Just saying. For keeping drinks at original temperature: they both do the job.
@limehouse the Contigo is good at spill proof, but I have to disagree about keeping at temperature. Contigo is absolutely is garbage at insulation compared to Bubba.
Anything more than 16oz is a waste, imo. By the time it's Half empty, the displaced air itself is enough to make your warm drink cold. 12oz is about all I ever drink before refilling for piping hot beverage status again. Personally, I still dig the nissin tea tumbler the best.
The name "Bubba" conjures up a vision of a bearded guy with three teeth, carrying a dead alligator over his shoulder and driving a pickup with a Confederate flag flying in the back. Meh!
@richferg Yer outta date. Today Bubba is in Floriduh and he's totin' his permit bear. Rumor sez that only half the bears were actually recorded, so one permit=2 bears. That's a whole 'nother twofer.
they're great..keep coffee hot past noon. Had one of them take a "tumbler" off the top of my truck, fell on concrete. Only noticeable damage was the end of the closing tab (tab was locked in open position) broke off flush with cup. makes it a bit harder to open, but still works!
i've got the 20's they're ok. I wanted the 24s but missed them both times. The 20's keep your drink cold all day when locked in a 100something degree truck all day.
sigh I fell for it. In for two silver. Need a new cup for work. The ceramic one I bought from here doesn't do a good job of keeping my coffee hot anymore.
I picked up the 24s when they were on sale last. Yesterday I left my cup in the car and didn't bring it into the office with me. This morning i grabbed it out of my truck to refill, and there was still ice. So, does this keep water cold for 24 hours? Sure (It was about 70 degrees outside so not too terribly hot in the car).
Now, if I drink 1/2 the water, then come back a couple hours later, most of the ice will be gone.
@Lotsofgoats guaranteed, tomorrow or the next day there will be something that kicks your VMP back on. Guaranteed. (Evidence? Happens to me every time.)
I bought these the last time they went on sale - they're excellent, the lid keeps a tight seal and they're so well insulated that they're actually worth stuffing in my bike's water bottle cages on a cold morning's bicycle commute - nothing better than chugging hot coffee after an hour of freezing my, uh, crank rings off.
I got the 24oz to try them out and have extra capacity for days at the lake/beach, but I'll skip out on these and hope to see 16oz ones here again at some point. Like a few others here, it's pretty rare for me to have more than 12oz of coffee or tea at a time.
Got the big ones in silver [they didn't come in blue, or vermilion, or chartreuse, or you know, ANYTHING but fucking SILVER] the first time around, and they are Soooooooooooooooooooooo GREAT that I just HAD to get a pair of these! But in BLUE! YeSSSSSSSSS!!!!
@Dixie Don't know if you ordered them or not, but the answer is yes. The flip up portion has rubber nibs that fit into the holes in the lid and it clicks down. You'd have to drop it pretty hard or at just the right angle to unlatch the flip top and spill the contents.
@WootTangClan Sorry dude, items are for sale from midnight to midnight EST. If they sell out, or it hits midnight - the sale turns into a pumpkin and you missed it. They've sold these a few times, though - so if you keep checking back, you might see them again!

Just want to say Bubba's customer support was pretty amazing. I had a leaking lid, filled out a form, took a picture, and they sent me a new mug! Best part was I received a copper colored on that looks pretty darn impressive.
Got mine at the beginning of the week. After four days of use, I am thoroughly impressed. I've been using one for coffee at work. I fill it about 2/3rds of the way up and drink it casually. 2 hours later, my coffee is still warm. And, I'm not even closing the lid in between sips. With the ceramic double-walled mug, my coffee was ice cold after 30 minutes. Bravo!

My goodness, that is a STUPID dancing skeleton!

@curtise yeah heard of skeletons in closets but never in tumblers -- drink that image in
@curtise Skeleton hurted my brain. Visual processing gray matter blue screened!
@curtise Doot Doot?
@cj0e
Tumbler-docks again? Meh....
@Kerig3 I am waiting for the speaker knives personally.
@yakkoTDI
Big fan of the roombot drones.
@yakkoTDI I'm waiting for the Bluetooth-enabled speaker-knife batteries (rechargeable)
FORGET ABOUT IT!
No skeleton?! No purchase!!
"Dishwasher-safe, BPA-free, bi-curious"
"Aren't we all?", said Freud.
@justbuyit Fuck Freud. Oh hell, there I go again with those bi-curious statements.
These are the speaker docks of water bottles

@cinoclav or do what I've been stuck doing: buy bubbas, say I'll give one as a gift, buy bubbas
I just decided I'm starting a bubba zoo
@fuddledumpers But that might allow people to view said bubbas. And if they view them at the bubba zoo, they will want one for themselves.
@jaremelz @fuddledumpers Especially if you let said people pet your bubbas. I know I'm quite pleased when the right person pets my bubba and then wants it.
Hero? More like zero. Meh.
@jsimsace We all have a hero in our heart.
these cups are fucking great. I'm buying another pair as stocking stuffers. everyone drinks stuff.
@boygenius1991 Such a thoughtful gift-giver. 😴
@boygenius1991 Bonus: these are bulky, requiring far less other stuff for the stocking, right?
I've managed to avoid buying bubba cups here every time so far... I think I'll keep up the trend.
@Thumperchick Give in already. They're supremely satisfying.
@Thumperchick Buy the bubba....they'll come in handy when you're chugging coffee cup after cup once the baby comes.
Or, you can join @cinoclav and I while we use them for cocktails!
@jaremelz
@Thumperchick
@cinoclav
I use them for mixed drinks and if you don't finish it's still going to be icy cold a day later!

I thought about blaming @jaremelz for this rerun, but honestly, I'm thanking her again since I have no need to buy any more.
@narfcake And may all the most glorious cat shirts rain gently upon you.
@narfcake Need? When did this become about need? Meh-be you need some remehducation on purchasing.
@yakkoTDI I've bought 18 cups here already - Stanley, Contigo, and both Bubba offerings. I don't think I'll ever run out.
@narfcake When did meh sell the Stanley Cup???
@narfcake I thought I had a problem. You've reached mug-a-meh-aholic status!
@RedOak just ask him about his shirt collection. No one can collect like @narfcake
@kadagan https://meh.com/deals/2-for-tuesday---stanley-utility-travel-mug
@RedOak Actually, I forgot about the (breakable) ceramic mugs.
@chellemonkey I pretty much figure that most of the regulars here know already.

@djslack With a confirm code like that, I'd have expected something with more wardrobe malfunction.
Good size. I would buy if I already didn't buy two 16s first time and four 24s for presents. Really really keep ice cold in the Arizona sun.

Bubbas two Tuesdays in a row - not cool. I realize they're different sizes but come on!
@OCBill3 What? The last Bubbas were 3 weeks ago.

@richferg ? and your point is?
@richferg A wad of 0000 steel wool and 45 seconds of rubbing will un-Bubba your mug.
@richferg Yer outta date. Today Bubba is in Floriduh and he's totin' his permit bear. Rumor sez that only half the bears were actually recorded, so one permit=2 bears. That's a whole 'nother twofer.
@richferg definitely your loss.
Really like the 24s so picked up a 20 twofer. chubby-slick-bath. i'll spare you the picture.

Better price for a good tumbler at QT in Atlanta. And it includes a free cup of coffee with purchase.
@wickhameh Will they ship it to me in Chicago?
@wickhameh show the comparison test results or it could be free and it wouldn't matter. Bubbas kick QT's ass.
@RedOak Never had Bubba's coffee, but I'll take your word for it.
@pitamuffin Absolutely, but I wouldn't drink the coffee by the time it arrived.
@wickhameh except I was referring to the product sold here - tumblers.
@wickhameh ATL represent
These are awesome, been waiting for the 20s to come back. My daughter stole one of my 24s.
I picked up the 24s when they were on sale last. Yesterday I left my cup in the car and didn't bring it into the office with me. Still nice for the price.
Works well but not as well as the 24 ounce Bubba. Especially if you are clumsy like me the stainless steel is a real money saver.
I think I would buy these if I were still cruising on VMP, but alas it was not meant to be my dearest of twosdays
@Lotsofgoats guaranteed, tomorrow or the next day there will be something that kicks your VMP back on. Guaranteed. (Evidence? Happens to me every time.)

Perfect timing, Meh. The misses expressed interest in a thermos today, so I told her I'd keep an eye on meh for the next deal on them!

Unfortunate image of what happens when someone else in our home discovers the Hubba-Bubba-dabba-doo hoard.
I got the 24oz to try them out and have extra capacity for days at the lake/beach, but I'll skip out on these and hope to see 16oz ones here again at some point. Like a few others here, it's pretty rare for me to have more than 12oz of coffee or tea at a time.
Yay, finally caught them, now for the 24 oz.
Are the lids on these spill-proof?
@Dixie Don't know if you ordered them or not, but the answer is yes. The flip up portion has rubber nibs that fit into the holes in the lid and it clicks down. You'd have to drop it pretty hard or at just the right angle to unlatch the flip top and spill the contents.
Order is not working now.
@WootTangClan You're a day late, unfortunately. One item a day, and this ran yesterday.
@WootTangClan Sorry dude, items are for sale from midnight to midnight EST. If they sell out, or it hits midnight - the sale turns into a pumpkin and you missed it.
They've sold these a few times, though - so if you keep checking back, you might see them again!
@Thumperchick I'd like to buy this pumpkin you speak of.
@Thumperchick Sorry, my webpage was using the cache and not reloading the page. Didn't know it was the next day already. Thanks
2 of mine were supposed to be blue but I got all gunmetal. Not a big deal or even worth doing a return, but in case anyone ordered silver and got blue, they went to me. Actually, now I don't have to go through the effort of deciding who gets which color for xmas, so thanks for that!
Bravo!
