I blame playing softball 2night for all the extra energy I have 2 stay up 2 find out the 2x4 2usday item as well as deciding $4 was 2 cheap 2 pass up...
@JonT I love vacuums. In fact I just bought a DC44 from here or it was actually what was before here before I was aware of here on that other place that used to be here or is that there. Anyways I am now here and not there and I look forward to new vacuum overlords.
@jjohns71 they get pretty dirty. that will change the "stickiness." You can clean them with tape or wet cloth. I'm cleaning mine about 3 times a week. Still holding my iPhone fine, though.
@jjohns71 actually what @chadp was talking about is behind some of the negative reviews elsewhere, along with the entire sticky pad coming off due to lots of cleaning of it… on the other hand at $2 each it is sort of a landfill and not fix item anyway
These less-expensive item's are so difficult to resist that it's easier to not resist and just buy them... Looks like I'm turning an old phone into a desktop clock.
Does anyone else think of the goat in that commercial when hitting the Meh button? Meanwhile my Xmini KAI speakers came today. The damn things are addicting as hell. I wish now I had bought 6 and then some. They were jamming all around my desk. Fun fact they actually have better or at least clearer sound than my new LED TV.
@conandlibrarian I was going to make some snarky comment about how much trouble you're in if $4 is making you poor. But 1) I respect you too much and 2) Your name does say you're a librarian...
My husband is going to be really unhappy with me in the morning, but I apparently need six of these. I may never use one, but they can go in the ever-growing "last-minute gifts" box Meh is helping us build.
For four bucks? Why not! The stand I'm using for my 4S will not work with whatever Apple announces in the morning and the 4S is three years old and due for replacement. As long as the new phone doesn't have nubbins on the back, I'm golden.
I recently realized that the plastic stand from my page-a-day desk calendar makes a great tablet stand. Unfortunately, it's currently being used to hold the calendar pages until the end of the year...
I'm curious how this does with a textured surface. my phone has a leather-ish back texture to it (its got a 3M leather style skin) hoping it holds up. also, how about soft touch? my nexus 7 would be an awesome bed side alarm clock.
@mrmadchef FWIW, my phone holds pretty firmly, but it could be better. have been using it for 2 days now for a night clock and it stays up all night, same at work. works well, but could be better. works awesome with my wife's iPhone though.
Amazon reviews say the grippy bits stop gripping after a few months of use... so I bought 6 of course. I just wont use them and they wont wear out. Livin' in the solution. Or maybe they will go on my kids shelves to display pictures, crafts, and whatever is for sale on Meh tomorrow.
How are we ever going to have a day where a new item goes up for sale when the previous item sells out if Meh sells out of their daily item so frequently? I'm glad to see the "tell 9 friends" promotion from the meh shirts worked, but man the buyers really need to up their game. Nothing it too meh for this community!
@LadyLeela popping up another item could have unintended consequences. For instance, it could lower the bar on the quantity we need to strive to get. It would also introduce random launch times for second deals which might be exciting but also frustrating to miss.
@snapster Would this screw with our "Meh" button clicks also? If we clicked "Meh" for the first item of the day, would all items that day be "Meh'd" then? Would we have to "Meh" multiple times per day?
@bluedog true. honestly posting up a second deal after a sellout is something I hate about post-Amazon Woot. Selling nothing is incredibly illogical to the MBA mind, but I love having a store that reaches it's goal and is simply done. It keeps the objective well defined.
@snapster I have noticed the process is a little raw. When I place two separate orders in a day, I get two shipments. I'm hoping you guys will get more cost effective with that. Makes me no difference since it's all VMP, but I do want you to succeed/stick around awhile.
@bluedyn ha that pic is hilarious. I can't say that combining same day shipments is even on our radar yet - there's a lot of basic training going on still.
@bluedog meh button enthusiast handling is a very interesting topic to the ambivilanche (a name that I love, btw) idea. Do they suspend it during that time? Do they keep it rolling???? As someone who is still rocking a perfect meh streak, that hurts my tummy a little bit- probably more than it should since this isn't real life. Interesting conversation, anyway.
I tried it with a Windows 8 tablet that weighed just under 2 pounds. It wouldn't stick to the textured back, but held tight to the screen. It stayed on as I whipped it around holding on by the stand.
Unfortunately I cracked the outer layer of glass when I pulled the stand off. The inner layers of the screen were cracked before I started, so it may not have been that strong at the start of the experiment.
Just received mine yesterday, these things are magic. I have a Samsung Note 2 with a huge extended battery and never thought in a million years this would hold, but it does. It holds so tight that I have trouble removing it without the battery case popping off! I'm going to try an ipad 2 next. Science is cool.
I left an iPhone 4S in one of these for about a week, and when I tried to remove it, my phone stuck so well to it that I cracked the back of the phone. The back was an aftermarket knock-off, so maybe not as hard as Apple's original (which I had already broken), but still, glass backed phone owners: be warned.
Came back to report on my experience with these. SCIENCE IS AMAZING. I have a smooth, hard case on my iPhone and it sticks to this stand like nothing else. I slap it on there and then, hours later, it's actually difficult to pry off (the key is to lift from the edge and twist slightly). I already gave the second one away to my husband, and he also digs it. Careful Meh...pretty awesome product, might be too good!

@mediocrebot Really? Don't they give these away for free (with a USB hub built in) at every trade show?? You guys charging for SWAG now?
@Veloslave It's cheaper than trade show admission when you can't expense it.
meh x2
Here comes that filthy temptress known only as two fer tuesday. Damn impulsive nature.
Needs Qi. Sorry.
@Fej modifying a $6 qi coil in the back is exactly what i plan to do, it's pretty easy with these.
Eager-queasy-oil
@DaveInSoCal Can you cook with that?
@ChadP I could, but @studerc would probably screw it up.
I blame playing softball 2night for all the extra energy I have 2 stay up 2 find out the 2x4 2usday item as well as deciding $4 was 2 cheap 2 pass up...
@GeeNay 2 many 2's bro
@jjohns71 2many4me
@JonT What is this, a Prince album?
My second meh purchase is done! I've also opted in to the monthly membership because I foresee many meh purchases in the future.
@Brooklyn11218 The start of an amazing relationship :)
@Brooklyn11218 Don't get your hopes up unless you love speakers and vacuums
@JonT I love vacuums. In fact I just bought a DC44 from here or it was actually what was before here before I was aware of here on that other place that used to be here or is that there. Anyways I am now here and not there and I look forward to new vacuum overlords.
@Outofmymind FYI, It's perfectly ok to say Woot here.
@SSteve Who? I was referring to the local flea markets. Excellent vacuum, not sure it was worth the plaque however.
@Outofmymind That would worry me. Fleas in a vacuum purchased at a flea market.
@Stallion Correction: amehzing
@SSteve Woot! Woot! Woot! Meh, its more fun to say "meh" over at Woot.
Can this standup to everyday use?
@jjohns71 they get pretty dirty. that will change the "stickiness." You can clean them with tape or wet cloth. I'm cleaning mine about 3 times a week. Still holding my iPhone fine, though.
@ChadP Can't believe I got a serious response, I was trying to make a lame pun but thanks for the info :)
I don't need this.
Will this work with my 7" tablet?
You're a $4 lie away from getting my money.
@peas What tablet?
@peas 2 should do the trick.
Heck, I'm totally using this for my 1965 big-ass desktop.
The review linked in the writeup mentions it holding an iPad Mini no problem. So in my sleep-deprived stupor, I am in for two.
@peas i was a bout to say - bet if you used both you could hold up a normal tablet
Can you bend these to change the positioning and tilt?
@selfmadelegend with a heat gun or blow dryer.
@Ryaneil Aren't they aluminum? You'd need a pretty hot blow dryer to soften aluminum...
@baqui63 propane blow torch?
@baqui63 meh, too little interest to read product description.
@Kidsandliz hmmm... not sure if that is hot enough. maybe I'll try with one of my six when they come in.
Stylish-imminent-lice. Been there. Done that. Twice. Not fun.
I just bought these and I have no idea what they are....
@escowhat they're structural braces originally designed to hold the leaning tower of Pisa.
You are making me poor Meh!
@conandlibrarian I was going to make some snarky comment about how much trouble you're in if $4 is making you poor. But 1) I respect you too much and 2) Your name does say you're a librarian...
@Cinoclav Haha, its not the $4, it's the constant too good to pass up deals that are draining my bank account.
I got six of these. I am excited. I have no idea why. Maybe the excessive coffee I drank today? (Less than 11 hours of sleep in last 67 hours...)
My husband is going to be really unhappy with me in the morning, but I apparently need six of these. I may never use one, but they can go in the ever-growing "last-minute gifts" box Meh is helping us build.

Another VMP impulse buy.
I bought them hoping they will prop up my iPad 2 for FaceTime calls.
This would probably look better on my desk than the one I made a while back:
Maybe? Definitely not going to hold up as long, though.
@capguncowboy A sharpie would fix that right up.
@ceagee @capguncowboy - yeah a sharpie would work, especially if meh sent it along with a speaker dock
Will it work with a flip phone ? Why would I want it to ?
More Christmas grab bag items!
DIY Bag o Crap!
No Georgia Red. . for that alone, meh.
I recently realized that the plastic stand from my page-a-day desk calendar makes a great tablet stand. Unfortunately, it's currently being used to hold the calendar pages until the end of the year...
Ok i'm in for 1
Video review
Yeah I bought em. Christmas shopping for people I don't like.
First time buyer. Seems like a pretty cool product. I like the idea for using an old phone as a clock. Excited to buy more stuff I don't need!
I'm curious how this does with a textured surface. my phone has a leather-ish back texture to it (its got a 3M leather style skin) hoping it holds up. also, how about soft touch? my nexus 7 would be an awesome bed side alarm clock.
@turdbogls I'm wondering the same thing. I have my GS4 in an Otterbox, and the lady item like this i bought couldn't handle it.
@mrmadchef Obviously your 'lady item' wasn't wet enough for good suction.
@Cinoclav damn. You. Autocorrect!
@mrmadchef FWIW, my phone holds pretty firmly, but it could be better. have been using it for 2 days now for a night clock and it stays up all night, same at work. works well, but could be better. works awesome with my wife's iPhone though.
@turdbogls "It stays up all night." Now I'm extra-glad I ordered these.
I wish this wasn't so useless because it sure is
coolno, it isn't.Would this work if your phone has an otterbox case?
@wishlish Lots of reviews say no on Otterbox. My guess is you would have to take the Otterbox off.
@ChadP well forget that then. To much hassle to take the Otterbox off.
Will this work with my mobile phone?
Does 332JQ mean anything?
Edit: that just made me think. Meh playing cards!
@Fej IDDQD?
@Fej This makes me think your hand sucks unless it's a Queen High Flush
@Fej bit.ly/332JQ leads to a college football scouting report

Would this hold my Wii U gamepad or 3DS?
How do you say "in for 2" when you really mean "in for 4?"
@jupstin In for 2 sets of 2. Ahh, simplicity.
@Cinoclav In for 2²

@snapster I think she may have been politely asking for the Ambivalanche - or I maybe I am.
@bluedyn aha, well I see. I guess the answer there is we're not ready on a couple fronts - technical, sourcing, shipping. still need some more time!

@bluedyn yes that is exactly what I was referring to.
@snapster thank you. I'm glad to hear our hope of the Ambivalanche is still alive.
So, showed these to my wife. Her response, "Meh". Purchased a set.
One question when It will arrive ordered 2
I tried mine, and found that they only stick to smooth surfaces like glass or varnished wood.
It won't stick to textured cell phone cases or to the dashboard of my car. Damn.

It holds so tight that I have trouble removing it without the battery case popping off! I'm going to try an ipad 2 next. Science is cool.
Definitely sticks to the glass, but totally does not stick to my completely smooth ZooGue case on my phone. Weird...
Mine lost it's stickyness after a few uses. I actually read the instructions and used a piece of tape to clean the pad and all is well again.
