3 hours on a charge for the side, 1.5 hours for the top? Gotta be a really fast emergency to be any good. Even my crappy cell phone lasts longer than that and I can play games or check out reddit with that.
@cengland0 Not the camera flash, no, but enough to see by generally for a good 5 to 6 hours - discovered that when power went out for a couple days last year and used powerbanks to charge my phone and my (lighted) kindle, so was fine until it came back on.
Morningsave has a 3 pack for $39 If anybody is actually interested in buying these cheap things, You’d get a longer light with a regular flashlight and 3 AAA Batteries and why in the world you need motion detection on a flash light?

You seem to think that Meh is trying to trick you somehow. If so, don’t buy it. Nobody is twisting your arm or pointing a gun at you. If you think their price is too high or they are misrepresenting what Amazon was selling it for, then use that in your decision to buy or not to buy.
Usually Meh buyers purchase the worldwide stock of a product so it’s not surprising you cannot find it elsewhere. If you do, post a different link so everyone else can see it. At least they posted one to Amazon and there are two sellers of the product there. Please hunt around for more as everyone would appreciate additional price comparisons.
I think you’re correct in saying meh purchases the full stock of certain items then sells them for very little - I’d guess they’re making $2-4 on each of these sales, not a high profit margin, but enough to keep the site going. I buy enough (usually) to make it worthwhile to keep VMP, but each buyer needs to research the items being sold to see if they’re a good deal. I’d say about half are, making it worth a look.
@venussuz Meh is a subsidiary of Mediocre Labs. I remember a thread or email awhile ago that broke down how much money Meh brings them – it’s not much. I think it was 20 to 25% of their money comes from the Meh site but takes up 80% of their energy. (The dreaded 80/20 rule but backwards. Should be 80% of your revenue comes from 20% of your customers/effort). The rest of their money came from checkout.org, Middling.com, Morningsave.com and someday when they get it setup mediocritee.com.
People with VMP earns the company even less or costs them money. This is why VMP is no longer available for new customers. Even if they break even with VMP customers, it doesn’t make sense to sell the product because of the effort involved when they could sell it on Morningsave for more money and more profit. I believe items like Fuku’s are sold at a loss but it builds up many conversations in the forums and keeps people coming to the site.
@cengland0 I’m not trying to put down Meh or Mediocre Labs, just saying that not every item they sell is a bargain. As I stated above, I believe they’re making a 10-20% profit on each of these sales. Factor in shipping for VMP customers, overhead of running a web storefront, warehousing, salaries and utilities, I’ve no doubt they make $1 or less/sale for items such as these.
That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t shop around for better prices or a similar alternative as I did above. Yet nearly every day I come back and check the site, generally buying a couple things a month. I just got another Foscam security camera even though I’m aware the item isn’t state of the art newest technology. For that price to watch my back yard, I bought another. And I’ll no doubt buy more from Meh in the future.

where these fail is the motion night light. There are many instances where you want the night light on all the time and THEN be able to use it as an emergency flashlight…
@fastharry Exactly, I’ve a couple that work as you describe and like them. Great for places like stairs and basements should the power go out and doubles as a nice nightlight. Motion…I must fall down the stairs to activate the light so I can see where I landed when I come to.

I bought two of the Bluetech LED motion sensor flashlights. One does not work; The switch doesn’t work and it flashes on and off intermittently when plugged in,
with no movement to make it do so…

@aring Update : My grumpy brother-in-law loves this! He says it is the best gift he has ever received. He put it at the top of a dark spiral staircase, and uses it multiple times a day. He then ran out and got more.

@AmazingChicken Cancel the order and buy her a decent flashlight that has actual power behind the LEDs and will last longer on batteries.
Better yet get her an LED Lantern that doesn’t require it to be plugged in round the clock or else they won’t work.
I bought a Lantern 5 years ago and it still turns on everytime and very bright and never once needed a charge
