@sfwineguy Well, the MFR does state “Help boost your health & energy naturally” via the antioxidants, but I for one feel like I have more energy hydrated vs not.
@troy Fair! And hydration and electrolytes are important too. But I’ve found, in the rare instances that I’ve exercised hard enough for it to matter, that some energy matters too. If you see people bonk on a long ride, for instance, they always seem to feel crappy until they get some carbs and some electrolytes into themselves.
@AmeliaStar Caffeine is not a polyphenol, and green tea is the only potential caffeine source, so it would seem that the answer is “no caffeine” [edited].
@AmeliaStar “The tea polyphenols used are a 99% pure polyphenol ingredient. As a result, the other one percent could contain trace amounts of caffeine. So the caffeine content could be anywhere between 0 mg and 1 mg per stick. I hope that helps!”

@phendrick@yakkoTDI Damn, for some reason watching that video led Youtube to recommend to me a slew of nasty videos of animals attacking other animals - wtf? I clicked “not interested” or “don’t recommend” on about a dozen things.
@agnesnutter Liquid IV contains 11g sugar and some customers view that as too much. You also need a lot more sugar in place of stevia or monkfruit, so these are 0.25oz yet pack the same flavor punch as Liquid IV at 0.56oz
The reviews on the 'zon are as mixed as usual. I think I’ll wait for the reports from the volunteer lab rats before I make a decision on these. (And even if all reports are “they’re wonderful!”, I absolutely will not be trying the strawmelon.)
Who the heck is “x Jegg Gimg” (that’s how that signature on the Cherry Limeade reads to me)? Are they a deceased, super-pumped “fitness influencer” or perhaps the copywriter’s ex?
@jml326 Costco has 8$ rebate at checkout in warehouse on liquid IV YMMV but that makes it 21$ for 30 packs which is best price Ive seen outside of here.
These were on QVC last week at an incredibly high price. Just checked their website; packets are 24 for $47 (almost $2 each) or ready to drink in bottles at 24 for $69 (almost $3 each). This is a great Meh deal if you’re interested in these. (Too much Vitamin C for me.)
@thru_hiker And it’s amazing how highly people will praise a thing that they’ve paid dearly to get, and how much they will gripe about the shortcomings of the exact same thing if it can be had economically.
Tastes sort of like cherry-ish sort-of-limeade mixed with sweat. The sweat components are not undertones, they are flavor notes of salt, bitter, and acrid in the foreground with strength equal to the advertised flavors.
I will find a use for them all eventually, and I’ll take a bunch along on the group ride I’ll be doing on Saturday the 26th. Those will get handed out free, with a frank admonition about my opinion of the flavor.
OBTW, they take for-fecking-ever to fully dissolve. “Shake well” in this case means “shake until your forearm develops a cramp, and then swap hands and keep going for another few minutes.”
@werehatrack huh interesting – with mine, I just dump the powder in a glass, fill it up with my RO Spigot which has a fair amount of pressure and drink immediately. It dissolves almost completely for me
@troy I dumped the packet in a tumbler, poured ice water over it in the suggested quantity, and had both floating glob-bubbles that had to be smashed against the side with a spoon, and a mass stuck to the bottom that required several minutes’ worth of vigorous stirring. The first sip had undissolved particles still present that came across as salty/bitter. Once it was fully dissolved, the flavor was merely slightly off-putting, not actively repellent. Dumped into a space made at the top of a half-liter bottle of water, the shake-to-mix technique proved daunting.
I suspect that people who like IPAs will find this stuff fruity and refreshing. Sadly, I loathe IPAs.
I’ve tried both flavors I bought and this stuff tastes terrible, like battery acid. It’s impossible to mix too. I wish Meh would actually TRY the stuff they sell, because they should not have sold this.

It has what plants crave!!
@yakkoTDI You mean water? Like out the toilet?
@melonscoop @yakkoTDI Like Brawndo, Electrolytes!!!
Let’s get to it…Is this good for hangovers?
@moscaz I’ve tried all three flavors and they’ve helped me with a couple hangovers already
20 calories - you’re not going to get much energy from a diet drink.
@sfwineguy There’s no claim of energy with these – they are caffeine free and meant to help hydrate you, not fill you up
@sfwineguy Well, the MFR does state “Help boost your health & energy naturally” via the antioxidants, but I for one feel like I have more energy hydrated vs not.
@sfwineguy @troy Someone just told me below that they’re not caffeine free. Confused now.
@AmeliaStar @sfwineguy @troy That was a misstatement, edited now.

Does anyone know if these are caffeine free or not? Curious because of the “Green Tea Polyphenols”.

I had the same concern!
Water!

@phendrick Excellent giphy.
@yakkoTDI i had wanted the Mary Tyler Moore kitten, but this was the first try and suitable, and didn’t want to push my luck
@phendrick @yakkoTDI I’d forgotten all about that:
@phendrick @yakkoTDI Damn, for some reason watching that video led Youtube to recommend to me a slew of nasty videos of animals attacking other animals - wtf? I clicked “not interested” or “don’t recommend” on about a dozen things.
Contain stevia and monk fruit extract… These already contained cane sugar, why add unpleasant sweeteners on top of that?
@agnesnutter Liquid IV contains 11g sugar and some customers view that as too much. You also need a lot more sugar in place of stevia or monkfruit, so these are 0.25oz yet pack the same flavor punch as Liquid IV at 0.56oz

I shall give 'er a go since I have to drink electrolytes daily anyways

Anyone compared to Emergen-C? They seem similar in some ways.
Who the heck is “x Jegg Gimg” (that’s how that signature on the Cherry Limeade reads to me)? Are they a deceased, super-pumped “fitness influencer” or perhaps the copywriter’s ex?
@pchops She’s an athlete, Peloton instructor, fitness influencer and apparently also on the staff of Good Morning America
Liquid iv again please
@jml326 Costco has 8$ rebate at checkout in warehouse on liquid IV YMMV but that makes it 21$ for 30 packs which is best price Ive seen outside of here.
@werfy55 true, but 50 for $19.99 was killer here!
Want it but can’t get it today, bring it to side deal later
@user39688052 Still available, like many things that don’t sell out.

$10 extra for the Variety Pack. Is it really that much extra work to grab 4 pouches from 3 different cartons?
@martinam Mongo have problem counting past too.

I just chew on it like dip or snuff. Oh yeah baby
What’s the expiration date?

This is the worst tasting hydration concoction I’ve ever had and now I’m stuck with 143 packs.
@TheAVDad Have you only tried one flavor? Otherwise you’d be stuck with 141!
