@cengland0 likely derived from lanolin( sheep wool). I guess that is animal based but sounds pretty vegan like to me. I think mushrooms and other plants could be used as well but that might be more common for d2?
@qazxto Thanks but not knowing makes it a no-go for me. As a vegetarian, I need B12 and D3 supplements. B12 supplements are generally synthetic and D3 are usually from some kind of animal (but not always).
According to a study from Harvard: “Few foods are naturally rich in vitamin D3. The best sources are the flesh of fatty fish and fish liver oils. Smaller amounts are found in egg yolks, cheese, and beef liver.”
Maybe you could get some from sheep wool but that doesn’t appear to be the most common way.
@cengland0@qazxto indeed lanolin is the most common source for commercially prepared D3 supplements. And are you a vegan or vegetarian (you mentioned both)? Because, as you know, there is a difference between them, and that would affect the decision of VitD source. Either way, here’s an article I thought you might find interesting. Cheers to sunshine!
Eh, this looks like a fine enough deal for coffee. But, as a matter of principle, I refuse to buy coffee being sold in 10oz bags. FFS, we used to fit a whole pound in each bag! Shrinkflation has gotta be at least a tiny bit responsible for the Pacific garbage patch.
@TehMaliron I was thinking the same, but the reviews appear to be quite positive. I guess we’ll find out soon. I’m uneasy but if I don’t like it, I’ll donate them to my office
SideDeal has a 24-pack of the already prepared cold drinks as well. Reviews for these are positive but many say it’s sweeter than they expected.
I don’t need you to tell me how fuckin’ good my coffee is, okay? I’m the one who buys it. I know how good it is. When Bonnie goes shopping, she buys shit. I buy the gourmet expensive stuff ’cause when I drink it, I wanna taste it.
@hchavers There can be some variance in caffeine level based on bean and roast level, but ultimately coffee is coffee. It’s about how you brew that gets you your caffeine.
@hchavers Ah, they added caffeine somehow. I’m unclear how effectively that can get extracted to the finished cup, but if anybody has a more informed take on green coffee extract added to grounds I’m all ears.
@hchavers@highonpez I was under the impression that some do it with breeding of Robusta beans vs. Arabica which tend to have lower caffeine and better flavor.
@craigcush Isn’t all coffee just coffee flavored water? Are you making yours with a different liquid or drinking the grounds directly?
That being said, I am planning to cold brew this, so, though I will not be counting on this coffee as a viable source of vitamins, I give them a better odds of surviving the brewing.
@craigcush Technically speaking, vitamins are still good after expiration, but they start to break down in potency. I mean, at least in the case of arguing vitamins
@stolicat I already use twice as much grounds as most people. At least I think so…I use twice as much as my in-laws and my mom. And if I use any more grounds in my drip coffee maker, for a full pot the grounds will “leak” over the filter into my coffee.
@stolicat@TimW Not to mention, that changes the flavor & is twice as expensive as whatever the coffee costs, which is a lot more these days than it used to be, unfortunately.
@stolicat I’m not exactly positive but the way I understand it you can get the most caffeine by using French press. But they say that is bad for you. Probably why it tastes so good!
@ircon96@stolicat Oops. .Oh. Well. It was early (while I don’t feed my cats caffeine they sometimes act like I have starting at about 5am) and I didn’t read well. All I did was google drinks with the most caffeine.
Man, writers, you need to do some research. Lambo’s are basically the old Italian man’s dream car. Ferrari, yea? BTW, my brother’s (not mine, fuck Elon musk) that is currently resale value of about 40k can beat all but the best supercars off the line. Do you even car?
I wanted to give you another update on your order for Super Coffee.
We didn’t receive everything we expected and as a result, all ground coffee is being canceled & refunded.
Also, some of the variety packs will be a bit different than advertised. If we run out of Vanilla K-Cups, we’re going to substitute in Dark Roast K-Cups.
We know this isn’t quite what you expected. We sent out an email with instructions and a coupon code for those affected by the shortage.
If you didn’t get an email about it, your order isn’t affected by the shortage.
@Thumperchick Thank you! Sorry it didn’t work out. But if they shipped you other Colombian products by mistake, I might know some people who could help you move it.
@Thumperchick I’m guessing I’m one of the lucky ones because I don’t think I got the email you mentioned. But I wanted to say, thank you all for your transparency and being upfront about it. Makes me not nearly as regretful of my buying decisions at meh, contrary to what the new order window says when I place an order!
@Thumperchick I’d be a tad disappointed, but on the plus, this means I didn’t accidentally ship hypercaffeinated coffee to a friend who DOES NOT need more caffeine!

Big old cup of Meh.
The colon placement in the title implies you can choose between 120 K-cups or 120 6-packs.
@awk good point, I removed the colon for y’all
@troy Thanks Doc, now where’s my colostomy bag?
What is the source of the D3? Is it vegan?
@cengland0 safe bet that these are not vegan due to the D3 – I can’t seem to find the source

And Meh saves me $18-$24 today by having something I do not want at all.
@werehatrack It’s like the world’s most meh retirement plan.
Could this be grounds for ending our relationship?
@phendrick I see what you did there.
@phendrick Sounds like trouble is brewing…
Do all those vitamin additions make the coffee taste like shit?
@TehMaliron Apparently not, based on majority of reviews
@TehMaliron @troy Glad to hear it, because as meh says… “Oh God, what have I done…”
@TehMaliron I was thinking the same, but the reviews appear to be quite positive. I guess we’ll find out soon. I’m uneasy but if I don’t like it, I’ll donate them to my office

@jwoody27 Pulp Fiction (1994) quote for the win!
I am wary of the double caffeine, but the price is just too good to pass up.

@ircon96 You suuuure you’re immune to caffeine?
@Kyeh Lol, that’s not me, it’s a friend. This is more like me:
Anything under .40 ounce cups makes 6 ounces of coffee flavored water. And most vitamins do not survive boiling water, especially expired ones.
@craigcush
pfffffft… logic.
@craigcush Isn’t all coffee just coffee flavored water? Are you making yours with a different liquid or drinking the grounds directly?

do that in nespresso and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe
If you want twice the caffeine, you can just use twice as much grounds (slow pour over), or do a moka pot brew.
@stolicat I already use twice as much grounds as most people. At least I think so…I use twice as much as my in-laws and my mom. And if I use any more grounds in my drip coffee maker, for a full pot the grounds will “leak” over the filter into my coffee.

@stolicat or you can go buy Arby’s Jamocha shake at 830

@Kidsandliz @stolicat That’s 830 calories(!) & 12 mg caffeine…i was wondering, how can it possibly have 830 mg of caffeine?! Lol
@ircon96 @stolicat Oops. .Oh. Well. It was early (while I don’t feed my cats caffeine they sometimes act like I have starting at about 5am) and I didn’t read well. All I did was google drinks with the most caffeine.

@ircon96 @stolicat Hmm not what I was looking for but the machine is clever so I’ll leave it.
@Kidsandliz @stolicat That giphy is adorable… And yes, very clever!

Wait, most coffee dates are 1 year after roasting, and this stuff is already older than THAT?
@Jonas4321 yeah, I’m not expecting much, especially if it also has any extra MCT oil added like the bottled stuff, but YOLO
@Polymathic YODO, too.
@Jonas4321 @Polymathic
Speak for yourself, I’m already making plans for next time.
Flavoured coffee usually means light roast. That right there kills this for me.
@OnionSoup If you like Dark Roast, that option is still available in both the bags and K-cups.
@cengland0 ah, didn’t notice they had dark roast too… Saw the slides of Vanilla and Mocha and immediately slipped into “today’s deal not for me”.
Still not for me though… But thanks.
Life’s too short to drink old coffee.

@KNmeh7 OTOH, the old IROC-Z was a slug by modern standards. Hell, you can buy hatchbacks that would blow its doors off.
/giphy appalling-heady-yak
For 24 going for dark roast. Cold brew it on 6oz x 2 pods if needed

Good news!
The Best By dates for the K-Cups are actually going to be ranging from 7/9-10/7, rather than the expected 3/18-4/21 we quoted in the specs.
Less great news:
We missed our morning pick-me-up and as a result, we have a new shipping date estimate for these.
The K-Cups are expected to ship Wednesday, 8/16/23.
The ground coffee should ship Monday, 8/22/23.
We emailed everyone a special coupon code, so check your inbox for that before you place your next order.
@Thumperchick well worth the tradeoff imo
@PvoorHD @Thumperchick …and theennn…
Hint, it ain’t slow-talkin Jones comin’ along.
@Thumperchick I cannot find an email with a ooupon code.
@EdgarAllenPope I whispered you.

@Thumperchick Thanks Thumper! I actually like the change to the variety more better!
@Thumperchick Oh man, weird stuff going on with the Super Coffee suppliers I guess. Thanks for the update!
@Thumperchick Thank you! Sorry it didn’t work out. But if they shipped you other Colombian products by mistake, I might know some people who could help you move it.
@Thumperchick Back to back delays

@Thumperchick My order appears lost in Grove City Ohio. I contacted FedEX, which was like talking to a rock. They said contact the shipper, you folks.
What should I do here? I was originally to arrive today, 8/21 and now it show “arrival date not available.”
It’s a birthday present for my coffee addicted wife and her birthday is 8/22.
Please help?
@Thumperchick @y0himba Make sure to report the problem over at meh.com/support as well.
@y0himba Looks like that was delivered 8/22. (Sorry it took me so long, I was out for a few days.)
damn- I had the IV rig all set for the hypercaffeinated french roast.
thanks for the heads-up, TC
Would be good to get a new estimated time of delivery on this.
@IAMIS We’re working on getting the variety packs shipped now.
We will drink no coffee before its time.
When are my k-cups going to ship?
