I’m using a pea husk-based litter for my cats right now (health issues with clay-based). It has an interesting, kind of unidentifiable smell, now tinged with cat urine and feces. If these extruded “snacks” smell anything like this litter, my gag reflex will take over… https://www.chewy.com/catit-go-natural-pea-husk-clumping/dp/756054
@MrNews@yakkoTDI Reminds me of a friend’s cat who’d eat the icicle decorations off their Christmas tree. They’d get up in the morning and discover the bottom half of the tree icicle free and the cat not feeling good. Think they eventually gave up and stopped using them.
@MrNews@yakkoTDI You are actually closer to the truth than you know. “Clumping” litter contains a chemical that clumps when wet. If a cat gets some inside them, it can cause urinary blockages, which can be deadly.
@radi0j0hn Yes, that was my fear. We’ve used unscented Everclean for 25 years, and I’d never had a cat eat it. The vet says it might be due to his anemia, some sort of weird instinct for minerals. I tried to stop him, but he kept sneaking in there, and his poop got a bit stiff and clay-colored, so I quickly switched. This CatIt stuff actually makes scooping easier, and the litter-eating has ceased. And speaking of Christmas tree decorations…
Interesting how everybody who’s eaten these likes them and everybody making cardboard jokes didn’t order. It’s a pleasant crunch and a light cheese flavor. Honestly kind of like cheesy kix. They’re good.
I bought 3 boxes when they were first offered at $25. Better ingredients than typical snacks, and a mild flavor which is fine.
When they were offered again at a lower price my wife said don’t order anymore since she saw the 3 large boxes.
Since then she is going through them like crazy and already finished the first box of 12 bags.
I just ordered another 3 boxes.

Puffed cardboard in cheese flavour!!!
@yakkoTDI It’s so cute you think the cheese taste will overcome the cardboard taste. I really, really doesn’t.
@kjady @yakkoTDI I thought they tasted like peas, not cardboard. I’ll be buying extra this time around.
@kjady I know these cheese flavour will not win this fight. Especially since it is not even good cheese.
/giphy bad cheese
@kjady @raive @yakkoTDI I think these are delicious, actually!
Got some on the last go-around and they’re … actually pretty good!
@paulmakepeace Alright folks, we found the synth.
I got the protein puffs. They are horrible and I gave them to the church food bin
@arfdawg
What is calorie count on small bags
These taste great. They basically taste like green peas and rice with a little cheese, like the ingredients say they should.
@raive “Great”?
@blaineg Did I stutter?

@MrNews
Stop eating it and the health issues should go away.
@yakkoTDI That was exactly the problem. Dealing with an elderly cat with kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and severe anemia, is full of surprises…
@MrNews I’m sorry your kitty has health issues. Please give a few extra head skritches from me.

@MrNews Try the sorghum based litter. It ain’t cheap, but you use it all up, never dump out the box. We have MANY cats and the house smells fine.
@MrNews @yakkoTDI Good of you to care for it.

Carbs are just as high as any normal snack, what’s the point?
If you really want protein, eat bacon.
@blaineg Bacon is cancer on a strip.
@blaineg @radi0j0hn Mmmmmmmm…Strippers.

@highonpez I don’t like Kix and even stuff I have eaten and liked is fair game for the bad jokes.
@highonpez I really like them, too!
@highonpez Yes – cheesy Kix! I knew the texture seemed familiar, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
I was skeptical when I first bought them, but they ended up being a hit with the family. It’s a re-buy for me.
These were pretty terrible tasting which is why I think the producer offloaded them to meh to recoup some of the cost and now meh is selling them.

They are very good like cheetos. The 5oz larger bag is much larger that I thought. I would order these again if I ran out.
I really like these…they’re like a Cheetos puff but a little healthier.
In for another box!
