@Larry1977 Yes, and? Everything done to combat the virus is not 100% effective; it’s a prophylaxis to reduce disease transmission and severity. The Pfizer vaccine has been shown to be 90-95% effective in preventing disease in healthcare workers and their own clinical trials, respectively, while also reporting no deaths from severe disease in these trials. The vaccine has been proven to be both safe and effective, with serious adverse events (anaphylaxis) being very rare and in line with rates of other vaccines. Importantly, it is likely that being vaccinated reduces transmission of the virus by reducing viral loads in both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals. This is incredibly important with a disease that has a ~1.8% case to fatality ratio (about 20x the seasonal flu, which itself kills tens of thousands each year in the US). The vaccine is a literal miracle of modern science that was released in less than a year after this outbreak started in the US, and reduces the risk of getting the virus for you, your family, and your neighbors dying of the disease. Please sign up to get vaccinated if you haven’t already.
@jmoor783@Larry1977 Not to mention various studies have found that IF hospitalized with covid: about 36% of solid tumor cancer patients die and 51% of blood cancer patients die.
@jmoor783 nice long winded reply I’m not wasting my time reading. I’m not injecting that poison you call a vaccine into me. With or without vaccines Covid will still exist. It’s just the government trying to brainwash you into having a peace of mind and false hope. Vaccines aren’t an antidote which is what they’re trying to pass it off as. Covid-19 isn’t going anywhere soon and will become the new flu and/or common cold.
@Larry1977 I’m a professional scientist, doctor, and infectious disease researcher who has academic publications in vaccine research. It’s sad that you are not willing to listen but it doesn’t really matter as you will need to show proof of vaccination in order to take a cruise or travel internationally, with other communal events soon to require vaccination as a prerequisite to entry, so thankfully I will not have to share enclosed spaces with people like you who refuse to take this seriously.
@jmoor783 my wife is a BSN RN and she too doesn’t want anything to do with vaccines and the terrible side effects they cause. Thanks to Covid you couldn’t pay me to take a cruise or even travel on an airplane and I’m not stupid to be kept in enclosed spaces. You can call me Will Smith in that movie I Am Legend who’s not dying from some vaccine
@show_the_maw lol. Lumber mills need to catch up. I consider that more important than ammo. Ammo/guns have fear buying/hoarders and that’s going to take longer to calm down unfortunately because it’s more than just pandemic there. Even though it’s irrational.
@blaineg@show_the_maw@unksol Man, tell me about it. I have had a laptop on order with a MAJOR retail outlet that is a vendor at work for about 6 months now…
@mehgrl I’ve bought kn95 masks from meh 3 times. There’s no telling if they’ll be quality. It has varied with each purchase. It’s now just something that helps me double up, even though it’s more awkward with these masks. But it’s so cheap now, why not?
@bjango@mehgrl The model number is shared by many manufacturers, I think. Meh has not listed the company that actually makes these…
In my mask collection, the ones with the external metal over the nosepiece work better/fail less than the ones with the metal sewn inside.
Also: doubling up on these is not advised- the doubling is specifically for the so-called surgical type mask, covered with a cloth mask. This helps prevent leaks around the edges of the surgical mask; wearing two KN95s might actually disrupt any edge-seal… YMMV.
@bjango@mehgrl@MrNews
That is not a model number, at least not the way we normally think of model numbers, being specific to a manufacturer. It is the Chinese standard. The newest one is GB 2626-2019. I assume 2006 vs 2019. And since they approved the GB 2626-2019 in April 2020… But either way the CDC allowed masks under both standards.
But either way the CDC allowed masks under both standards.
However the CDC tests many of them. With some the specs of the 10 they test for a given model they all meet or exceed n95’s with none of the 10 testing below. Some do not. Some are actually really bad with respect to their filtration results. Some have results all over the map.
So while non-N95’s are permitted, those with these Chinese model numbers may or may not meet N95 standards and some miss it by a huge amount.
@bjango@Kidsandliz@mehgrl@MrNews
I’m aware they test specific brands, which was why I was saying the “model number” was really just a standard. Counterfeits abound.
My use at this point would be more construction related then virus related so I’m considering it even if they haven’t been CDC tested.
Was sure there would be a Mother’s Day mehrathon. Thank you Meh, for not taking advantage of my habit on this day, making me furtively check my phone every few minutes. I can focus on the wife for at least this one day.
I got some masks from here at the height of the pandemic that were apparently made “wrong”. The nose wire was glued over top of the edge seamed portion of the mask. They are the best, most comfortable masks outside of the Outdoor Research masks.
Honestly this would be a good price just for a life time supply of woodworking/insulation/home improvement work. I forgot to wear anything when replacing a bathroom ventilation fan cause I thought I could keep the blown insulation in place. It could not and the dust had me coughing for a few hours.
I don’t recall what a two pack of n95 cost at home depot before but it was definitely way more per mask.
@unksol Hey, I was able to get 10 packs of the real 3M N95 masks with proper head straps and exhaust valves for a very normal price on Amazon. I think because the exhaust valve style is banned a lot of places, they are not over priced finally.
I use them every weekend for mowing the yard and like you, when doing work with a lot of dust or going in the attic crawlspace.
@ohhwell I don’t think they had them with the valves when I bought them at home depot for general use but it was years ago. Guess I haven’t checked. At least these are kind of dual purpose.
I don’t need them for mowing either. But cleaning up a pile of mice leftovers in a shed cause hantavirus or the attic or other high dust senarios… You definitely want something.
We look good in masks. Get to put on gloves and scrubs. Play Dr and after walking around a medical facility for a bit, pontificate on the exquisite nature of the design and the delectable nature of dark chocolate. Where’s that shiny object?
100 for $20 is starting to reach rock bottom prices just like hand sanitizer. And these are the ones with the unexposed nose wire which looks and feels better
During the height of the pandemic paid $ 9.99 for an oz bottle of hand sanitizer. Liked that brand so much bought same brand from the same co. at .99 a bottle.
Around the first of the year bought 100 N-95 masks from Costco for $ 270. Just saw the same masked advertised at Costco for $ 80.

Instead of this, why not sell a blow gun that contains vaccines, so I can get my neighbors vaccinated?
@jmoor783 doesn’t mean they can’t get Covid-19. A player on the Golden State Warriors was fully vaccinationed and still got it.

This is actually great. These are probably the last batch of masks I’ll need until the end of my state’s mask mandate.
I love posting something witty right after midnight. It’s kinda my jam.
Um, I’ve nothing. I’m sitting on a mountain of these, as does every other Meh addict.
Mazel tov?
Now if only 9mm could get back down to this price I would consider nature healing.
@show_the_maw lol. Lumber mills need to catch up. I consider that more important than ammo. Ammo/guns have fear buying/hoarders and that’s going to take longer to calm down unfortunately because it’s more than just pandemic there. Even though it’s irrational.
@show_the_maw @unksol Silicon for me. I’m hitting all sorts of weird shortages and/or price spikes buying computer components for work.
I’m sure it will get worse before it gets better.
@blaineg @show_the_maw @unksol Man, tell me about it. I have had a laptop on order with a MAJOR retail outlet that is a vendor at work for about 6 months now…
@blaineg @show_the_maw everything consumable is going to have a pandemic hiccup… Chips though are up there.
Awesome. Thanks for thinking of me. Unfortunately, its a no for me dawg.
Are these the certified/accredited kind? It’s so hard to know what is good and what is a scam with this stuff.
I found this based on the model https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/respirators/testing/results/MTT-2020-111.1_International_DongguanMauGee_KN95_TestReport_Redacted-508.pdf
@mehgrl thanks for looking this up and sharing the link
@mehgrl Where did you find the manufacturer on the box? I didn’t see one anywhere. That evaluation is only good for DongguanMauGee ones.
@Kidsandliz I just did a search on the model number. Model: GB2626-2006
Do we know for certain the manufacturer of these masks?
@mehgrl I’ve bought kn95 masks from meh 3 times. There’s no telling if they’ll be quality. It has varied with each purchase. It’s now just something that helps me double up, even though it’s more awkward with these masks. But it’s so cheap now, why not?

The “k” stands for “knot certified”.
Will these work OK as coffee filters??
/giphy coffee addict
Are these new?
Normally I wouldn’t think to ask, but COLOP handheld printers.
Was sure there would be a Mother’s Day mehrathon. Thank you Meh, for not taking advantage of my habit on this day, making me furtively check my phone every few minutes. I can focus on the wife for at least this one day.
@galewarning people usually spend their weekends doing weekend stuff. You’ll make more money when people are doing nothing at work.
Happy Mother’s Day from Meh. We love you and all, but we don’t want to see your face. Wow!!! You just made my mom cry….
Every single day in every part of life all I hear is you got to stay safe. People are starting to blow! Make it stop!
You might move more of these as IRKs. All day IRKs. Nothing but IRKs. Empty the lot. One and done. Doooooo iiiiiiiiiiit.
Timely article: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/08/style/masks-after-covid.html
Really!!! At this point they’re just trying to unload fucking masks on people. Covid is DONE!!!
(I got 2)
The real “smart” people say Covid 19 never was !

One-Year-Ago-Today Called— It wants its Meh deal on pandemic masks back
In for one for virtue signaling purposes only.

Squirrel!!!
Good lord Meh, do you really have to virtue signal to sell these things?
Masks are so passé!
@clarion47 Not out here in wildfire country California!
I use them as codpieces.

Repurposed and used for Convenience Store robberies.
In trying to help Meh sell what seems to be a never ending supply of face masks, I offer this as a use few have considered.
100 for $20 is starting to reach rock bottom prices just like hand sanitizer. And these are the ones with the unexposed nose wire which looks and feels better
My son does hospital fire alarm inspections for a living. He will need to wear a mask for the next few months. Thanks for having these available.
