10-28-17 Contacts
7This year I finally ordered colored contacts. I’ve been wanting crazy contacts for years. I did it because they were only about $12 a pair since I had a coupon. I don’t normally wear contacts because I have allergies and my eyes are pretty sensitive. Luckily, these aren’t too bad. I’ve found eye drops for contacts which makes it much more bearable.
You’ve already seen my white mesh contacts if you saw my post on 10-2. Here’s another pair that I got. I’m a ninja?
Do you wear contacts? Have you ever gotten any crazy colored ones?
Tonight’s musical selection:
Marilyn Manson
I haven’t followed Manson’s music that closely since I was a teen. I do catch new songs occasionally and I usually like them, but I don’t feel as compelled to download the album. I was around 13 when the Antichrist Superstar album came out. This was also when I got my first boyfriend. I actually wrote the most ridiculously embarrassing letter to him using lyrics picked from the album to ask him out. We dated for about a month, and I was super depressed when we broke up. We stayed friends for a while… We drifted apart but have reconnected on Facebook, and now many, many years later, I found out that he’s gay. I guess it wouldn’t of worked out in the end.
Dope Hat
I actually “performed” this song in sign language in high school.
The Beautiful People
I remember in one class we had to do a project where you make a trivia board that would light up if the answer was correct. I vaguely remember the correct answers were connected with a piece of foil that you covered with tape. The topic I chose was Marilyn Manson. I got an A, but next to my grade, that teacher wrote, “Why MM?” Because I can, duh.

Now I want to make a Pandora station that plays Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie. You know, for those days when you just feel… uh, different.
Nice eyes, but I can’t imagine putting anything in my eyes. Sometimes I get an eyelash in there and it makes me crazy. (Crazier?)
Here’s another band playing at Wacken, which is definitely a sign of some level of success. These guys are from Israel.

@2many2no eyelashes in my eyes hurt a lot! Contacts are a slight mild annoyance. Probably doesn’t help that the shape of my eyeballs is different than normal so the contacts aren’t a perfect fit.
Saw Rob Zombie probably around 18-19 years ago. It was fine, but I wasn’t crazy about them. They were with Limp Bizkit and KoRn. I remember the floor being slick with spilled beer. I had a drunk mosher smash into me.
@RiotDemon Sounds like a good time was had by all.
Colored contacts just up the game to a whole nuther level.
Contacts make any holiday fun!
@mfladd
Count me as don’t come near my eyes with stuff. As I have gotten a bit older, allergies seem to be irritating my eyes.
I am trying to talk myself into laser surgery. I am not sure I could sit still to get it done. I would like to not wear glasses. A couple friends are working on me.
@speediedelivery A friend of mine does that surgery. He still wears glasses. I asked him why. He said so that when he is older he can still read, see things close up without putting reading glasses on since people who are near sighted can do that for far longer than people with “normal” vision.
@Kidsandliz My natural near sightedness allows me to see things sharply pretty close up, much better than the bifocals in my glasses.
As you age, the lens in your eye gradually gets stiffer until the muscles in the eye are no longer strong enough to adjust focus, then you have a “fixed focus” eye. If I had gotten laser correction, that focus point would be a lot further away, but that’s what my glasses are for.
Of course, the other problem is I also need a lot more light on things than I used to. Since LED bulbs don’t get real hot, I can switch everything to 2000+ lumen bulbs without frying under the fixtures.
Be careful with those things. “Generic” ones like this are much more likely to damage your corneas.

@Kidsandliz these are prescription lenses and fda approved.
@RiotDemon Smart move.
Been trying to convince my kid that buying them over the counter like she is doing (to change her brown eyes to blue) is not safe. So far haven’t made a dent in her behavior. Have my fingers crossed.
@Kidsandliz the biggest issue is that most people don’t learn how to properly care for their lenses, that’s why going to the optometrist is so important.
I’ve seen horror stories about people who hardly ever took their lenses out, didn’t clean them in proper solution… The damage you can do yo your eyes is insane.
