10-26-17 Bloody Nails

8

I used to bite my nails really bad to the point they hurt and bled. It was ridiculously hard for me to stop. I remember wearing acrylic nails for months to try and quit. Within a few days of taking them off, my nails were chewed off once again in a few anxious minutes of watching a horror movie. Years later I had enough. I went and bought a bunch of packs of glue on nails at the dollar tree and for the next few weeks I would change them out every 1-3 days depending on how bad I picked at them. It was a pain because I had to cut them really short since I didn’t know how to function with nails. When my nails were no longer painful stumps, I started painting them instead. Seeing as I still had the horrible urge to chew on them, I would sometimes paint them every single day. I started doing nail art and since that added even more time to my routine, I felt less compelled to bite. It’s probably been around seven or eight years now, and I still get that annoying urge if I don’t wear nailpolish and I get a little snag. I carry a nail file around now so I can deal with it.

I’ve probably taken a year hiatus from painting my nails and just started again about a month ago. I’m completely out of practice but I wanted to do some Halloween nails.

Don't try to copy my fingerprints ok? That's not cool.

Hopefully my job doesn’t care that I have a crime scene on my nails.
