Тестовые чаи - Test-Teas Tuesday
9That’s right, it’s me again.
When @riskybryzness wasn’t looking, I got my hands on some stuff. Check it out!
I snagged this beauty from the sales team.
and I bought a box of this pre-bagged tea from the local grocery store, and I’ve been brewing it at my desk surreptitiously.
The kettle was convenient, I heat up enough water for 5 cups of tea and have it ready for when I finish/refill my cup.
I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve tried this YellowCake tea (That’s right, I drank all 15 bags), so I can confidently say that it perfectly lives up to the expectations. It’s sweet and citrusy with a hint of ginger.
Smell
It smells like cake. -2 points because it keeps making me want to eat cake.
Look
It’s dark and murky, like the air around an exploded nuclear reactor (I assume)
EDIT: Upon seeing it in a glass teacup, instead of in my ceramic mug or a foam cup, I’ve added .5 points back to the score.
Taste
They didn’t lie. It tastes like Lemon Pound Cake.
Extra tidbits:
We’re actually selling this kettle. I’ve enjoyed it so far. Find it here and use coupon code TestTeas for $2 off.
What are you drinking this week? Have any teas you might want to try yet? Let us know what you think, we love hearing from everyone!

I wish this tea was a perfume. I mean…I wish all of these were perfumes, they all smell so damn good.
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but do NOT pass go, DO NOT COLLECT $200, GO BUY THIS TEA!!! This is the most delicious tea (if you can even call it tea!). It is like they liquified Lemon Pound Cake and put it in a glass. Ok, I should probably preface this that I’ve been on the Ketogenic diet since September, so anything that tastes remotely like cake is going to spark my interest. But I can’t recommend this one enough. Why are you still reading this post and not going to try this tea?!
@mandirose I am going, dont yell
Also on keto and addicted to this one smells amazing and just a little sweet. Give it a try.
@mandirose so this just happened
@tinamarie1974 Frantically adds influencer to my linked in
@mandirose btw vanilla roobios tea is also delicious. Not sure about this brand, I can let toy know. I first tried it in Germany in the spring and it was unbelievable. Wish I would have took a pic of the packaging.
@mandirose @tinamarie1974 I bet that’d be good as a milk tea too…if we can figure that out
@mandirose @riskybryzness hhuumm, you try the milk and I hope you like it! I just can’t
@mandirose They have it at my Target! I need to make a run.
@tinamarie1974 Nice claw!
@mfladd
Хороший обзор, товарищ
@therealjrn благодарю вас
I bought this yesterday. I’ll try it out later today.
@narfcake You’ll have to tell us how it is.
I bet @cardiganb might also be interested in that.
@cardiganb @Cythwulf
For a black tea, the flavor is more like oolong. It’s not all that strong and the cardamom isn’t all that pronounced. I’ll try again tomorrow with hotter water, though.
It’s $3.49 for 100, so I can’t expect the greatest anyway. Granted, it may have been discounted because the boxes were printed upside-down. March 2019 packaging, so it’s not like it’s overly aged.
@Cythwulf @narfcake that looks yummy
Ok, so I bought this tea because of how everyone raved about it even though I don’t normally drink tea except black with cream and lots of sugar.
Wow. The smell. Holy cow it smells delicious.
First brewing. So disappointed that the glass went down the drain after the first sip. Tasted like garbage. I’m assuming that I brewed it wrong.
Will try again and use a thermometer to test the water temp since I don’t have a kettle.
@RiotDemon It’s pretty hard to mess up herbal tea. You probably just don’t like it.
@sammydog01 it just doesn’t taste anything like the other reviewers said. I’m not sure if I should brew it longer to get the actual citrus flavor.
I’ll probably try tonight.
@RiotDemon One teabag only does 8 ounces of water- I sometimes forget that.
@sammydog01 I brewed it longer. I got the smell, and very faint taste. Added milk and sugar. It’s sort of drinkable, but I will be giving the tea away. I was hoping for a drink that I didn’t need to add a bunch of sugar to make it drinkable. Plus, black tea tastes much better with cream and sugar than this does.
Anyone have any advice for what to do with teas that smell okay but that taste awful?
Edit: This doesn’t refer to the lemon tea, but I bought a vanilla macaroon tea a while back that I don’t care for, and a sugar cookie flavored tea.
@paulg1982 Send it to @Cythwulf?
@paulg1982 @sammydog01
Hell yeah! I love great smelling teas that taste aweful! I have many uses for them.
@paulg1982 Was it the Tazo vanilla bean macaron? I bought some because it was next to the lemon pound cake tea. It has a really strong licorice after taste. I like licorice but this tea not so much.
@paulg1982 @sammydog01 I got the vanilla bean macaron as well!
@Cythwulf @paulg1982 @sammydog01
Why is there no glazed lemon loaf in your photo?
@paulg1982 @RiotDemon @sammydog01 We drink it too fast.
@Cythwulf @paulg1982 @RiotDemon The butterscotch sounds good. Should I buy some?
@paulg1982 @RiotDemon @sammydog01 I’m glad you asked! That review is coming up soon
