Holiday Travails
Hi! Welcome to holiday air travel! Let me give you a quick tour!
We’ll start here. This is a snowstorm. That’s coming straight for you, thus necessitating a swift and easy departure. And this is another snowstorm. It’s not even remotely near you, but it is delaying your plane elsewhere along its route.
That over there is an unexplained mechanical issue that’s sending your plane back to the hangar. Now, this process can go one of two ways: either it’ll take way too long to resolve, ruining your plans. Or it’ll be resolved way too quickly, thus leading you to wonder, what was wrong? Was it something totally minor that should’ve never been a problem in the first place? Or something major and they just rushed the fix? You think you want to know, but we assure you any additional explanation will only further frustrate and unnerve you.
This here is the time your plane touched down at O’Hare International Airport. Looks pretty nice, right? You should be fine! And that there is the time your plane reached its gate at O’Hare International Airport. Nope, sorry, we don’t know where those 55 minutes went either.
And now, I’d like to introduce to two special guests! This is Bill and Barbara. They’re a middle-aged couple sitting in the middle and aisle seat of your row. And no, they won’t let you out before them to make your connection. After all, with these delays, everyone has a tight layover! Sure, you’re going to have to run a six-minute mile while performing a series of Jamal-Crawford-level moves to maneuver your way through traffic if you have any chance of getting to your gate before the cabin door is closed. But think about Bill and Barbara; they were supposed to have two whole hours, and now they have just forty-five minutes. They won’t be able to savor their Frontera margaritas!
Are we laying it on a bit thick? Sure.
But here’s our point: there are roughly a million things that can go wrong when you travel. And about 999,992 of them are out of your control. Which makes it all the more important that you take care of the stuff you can. Like having good luggage.
That’s what these are: hard-sided, lockable, easy-to-maneuver pieces of luggage. So you can be sure all the presents you packed are safe from bumps and bad actors, even as everything else goes to shit.
Yeah, wow, we sure do hate holiday travel. But these bags? We don’t hate them at all. We like them, in fact! So buy them, please.
