Whew, a kind of knife we've never sold before.

Here we are again, climbing into the octagon for another scrap with our ambivalence about selling knives. We’ve sworn off them and sworn back onto them so many times that we’re almost as bored with the whole subject as we were with knives in the first place.

But today, to the immense relief of the guy who writes this stuff, we found one that’s not exactly like every other knife we’ve ever sold. Whew!

This is a fixed-blade knife, meaning it doesn’t fold. You keep it in a sheath, in this case made of something called “ballistic nylon”. That fixed blade is also “full tang”, meaning it goes all the way down to the bottom of the handle for extra stability and strength. Because why the hell not, if the knife doesn’t have to fold? Oh, and here’s our old friend 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. Good to see you, 8Cr13MoV. Nice to see some things never change.

It’s also livened up by the colorful language in the generally excellent Amazon reviews (4.6-star average), like “this tang is beastly” and “bushcraft” and “wet country” and “arm-hair-shaving sharp”. Probably nothing you tactical-type dudes haven’t heard before, but it’s a lot more vivid than the reviews for a blender or whatever.

And now we’ve gotten through another knife story! That was relatively painless. Verging on interesting, even. We don’t know what we’ll say the next time we sell a knife like this. But we’ll stab that bridge when we come to it.
