Cleaning House: a Meh-rathon

POWER-ROY licks his thumb and tries to work out the ashy smudge from the temporary wall, leaving his back to ROY and HAL.

HAL
No! Wait!

ROY pays no attention. He rushes POWER-ROY from behind, jabbing him hard in the blue dot, easy enough to see on his bald head. POWER-ROY spasms intensely, then crumples to the ground.

ROY gets down on his knees next to him.

POWER-ROY
(voice weak)
I failed.

ROY
It’s okay. It’s not your fault they designed you this way.

POWER-ROY
(voice weak)
Would I have been a good Cleaner?

ROY
No. You would’ve been the best. Now, power down, friend. Power down.

The red lights in POWER-ROY’s eyes fade.

While wiping the work laptop of Calvert Harrison, a project manager who recently left his position at the company for a comparable role with a rival, our IT department discovered a Microsoft Word file titled ‘CLEANING_HOUSE_SCREENPLAY_FOR_JS’ as well as several Notepad documents containing phone numbers and email addresses for people with a tertiary connection to Jason Statham. The screenplay was, by all indications, written on company time and therefore, per Calvert’s contract, belongs to us.
