With a quick jab of his shield to stun the Winter Soldier, Captain positions himself back-to-back with him. Reaching over his shoulder, he catches the dazed assassin by his chin and flips him onto the pavement several feet ahead.
The mask that obscured his assailant’s face falls before him, and he, to his credit, stumbles onto his feet quickly.
Panting heavily, Steve Rogers watches as the Winter Soldier slowly turns to face him again. But rather than attack again, Steve hesitates.
He hesitates, because he has seen a ghost.
“Bucky?”
The Winter Soldier’s beady black eyes narrow and his pointed purple ears twitch awkwardly under flowing locks of hair. He responds, “Who the hell would willingly go by Bucky?”
