“You’re not doing it right,” says her husband, Uncle Jeff, unhelpfully.
“That’s it,” Aunt Melba takes the pan from the heat and tries, desperately, to scrape the onions into the trash. “I give up.”
“Just what you always do,” says Uncle Jeff. “You give up.”
“Well, if that’s what you think, fine, I give up,” Aunt Melba says with tears in her eyes, “On us.”
“Are you saying–”
“I want a divorce!”
Aunt Melba storms out. Thanksgiving is very awkward this year, especially because Melba was the one you’re actually related to.

“Oh, stop,” Aunt Melba says, clearly not wanting him to stop.
