Wow, these towels are really, really big!

Specifically, how big, you ask?

Okay, sorry, we just thought this image was funny because it clearly wants to let you know how big one of these towels is, but it actually provides no information at all. Like, who are these silhouettes? Is the one on the right Boban Marjanović and the one on the left De’Aaron Fox? Or is the left silhouette a toddler and the right silhouette a six-year-old? We don’t know!

But, to be clear, we do know the real size of this beach towel. Its 48" by 84". Or, 7’ by 4’. In other words, it’s longer than a full sized mattress and just about as wide.

But you know what’s even more impressive than how big it is? How small it is! When it’s fully rolled up, we mean. It packs down to a measly 12.5" by 3" and weighs just 20 ounces! Which is the equivalent to roughly 7 and a half robins!

Okay, full disclosure: we searched bird weights to see if we could maybe find one of greater or equivalent heft for a fun comparison, but it turns out birds are super fucking light. So, yes, 7.5 robins is kind of a lot of robins, but it sounds better than, say, comparing this towel to 46 and a half chipping sparrows. (Although it’s fun to think about! They’re so flippin’ cute with that little streak of red on their head!)

Anyway, where were we? Oh, right. Very compact when packed up and very lightweight, but huge when unpacked. Which is likely why these things earn a 4.3 out of 5 over on Amazon, based on an impressive 4,337 reviews.

In conclusion: people like these huge towels, and you might too. So buy a couple.
