More Than A Pinch

Howdy, friends! We’ve got a little Mad Libs project we’re working on (to be revealed later). Basically, all we need is for you to fill out a super short, simple form each day. Here’s today’s! Thanks in advance!

The phrase “in a pinch” is easy to fall back on when you’re writing about powerbanks. “It’ll charge your phone, in a pinch.” “It’s a little extra power, in a pinch.”

It’s no coincidence that the word “pinch,” when used in the culinary sense, means “just a tiny bit,” an amount so small as to not require exact measurement. Because most powerbanks that will help you out when you’re “in a pinch” have about a “pinch” worth of power. Maybe a full charge. Maybe half. Maybe just enough to keep you afloat for the bus ride home from work.

But not these things. No, these Qi-enabled, wireless charging powerbanks (with built-in switch-tip cables, so they’ll work with your Android and Apple phones) each have 10,000mAh capacity batteries. That means you’re getting a total of 20,000mAh.

That’s not a “just a pinch” situation.

That’s a “wait, it’s tbs, not tsp?!?” situation.

That’s a “this’ll be easier with the 2-cup measuring cup” situation.

That’s a “take off the dripper top thing and just pour” situation.

They’re not just for when you’re “in a pinch.” They’ve got enough charge for when you’re “in a clamp” or “in a vise” or “in the stocks” or “in the trunk of Crazy-Eye’s Cadillac en route to the warehouse to discuss paying back your debts to Bob The Empire Builder.”

In other words, it’s a lot of friggin’ power. It won’t just cover you for the bus ride home. It’ll cover you for the bus ride home where you absent-mindedly get off in the middle of the wilderness and then need to navigate your way back to civilization by the stars over the course of the next few days.

Okay, that’s probably an exaggeration. Real talk: each 10,000mAh powerbank will likely recharge your phone between 2 and 4 times. Then again, the number of charges corresponds to your battery’s capacity. In other words, if it only charges your phone’s battery twice, that’s because your phone’s battery is big, and thus will stay alive longer on its own. Right? We… think so.

Anyway, the point is: 20,000mAh total power will keep you good and charged up in a pinch, and also in situations beyond a pinch. Which isn’t bad for $29.
