We've Created A Monster

Anyone else getting tired of the same old monsters. Dracula? More like Drab-ula! Zombies? A bunch of real zom-bozos! Werewolves? Get-the-hell-outta-here, wolves! Enough with the masked killers using gardening implements, with the typical ghosts and ghouls, and enough with the clowns! No, it’s about time we forge a bold new direction in horror. I’ve even roped in our own resident monster-sculptor @KoolHandJoe for his expert opinions on the matter. Let’s see what we’ve got.

Camping in the woods, a tent pitched under a tree near the top of a hill. You know the area well, nothing but forest and the occasional open field. Yet you awaken one misty evening to find the environment is not quite as you left it. Mossy stones have seemingly grown out of the earth. Walking forward you trip on one low to the ground. You catch yourself on a slightly taller protrusion. Regaining your bearings, you feel the shape of the stone supporting you is odd. Smooth, perhaps carved. Definitely carved. There is a name, and numbers. An epitaph. This is a gravestone. You look around and realize they are all gravestones and markers of some sort. Your campground has seemingly fallen directly in the path of a wandering graveyard.
