Buy now, sell high.
Remember how we called these “disposable” and said “we really should outgrow” the idea that Bluetooth stuff is worth money? Forget all that! Bluetooth junk stocks are on the rebound to blue chip status! Blue to the future! Full blue ahead! Everything’s coming up Bluetooth! How do we know?
Exclamation points aside, we spend all day looking for cheap overstock stuff. We have to be pretty good at it or we starve. Last year, brutally discounted little Bluetooth speakers were all over the place. Now, we’re seeing tighter supply and higher prices on Bluetooth doodads like this. A sub-$10 Bluetooth speaker did not turn out to be the new normal. Manufacturers have corrected their mistakes.
Because only mistakes would make it possible for you to buy a Bluetooth speaker for less than it cost the company to make it. This was never the plan at URGE Basics HQ: they made these planning to sell them all at $80 each. It turned out they made a mistake. A very expensive mistake. And not a mistake they, or any other Bluetooth speaker maker, can afford to make again.
For now, we still have some cheap, adequate SounDome wireless speakers for this crazy low price. But it’s looking like prices may have touched the bottom and started floating back to the surface. The fever of irrational Bluetooth exuberance that gripped manufacturers like URGE Basics seems to have broken. They’re doing a better job of accurately estimating demand, damn them.
We can’t guarantee any return on your investment, of course. But if you’re looking for a safe haven to put what’s left of the proceeds from your sale of those Beanie Babies, you might want to consider socking away some URGE Basics SounDome Speakers to unload on eBay later. They don’t taste as good as pork bellies, but they sound better.
