2-for-Tuesday: Bēm Mini Bluetooth Speakers
- You get a pair of these little speaker cubes, but they don’t work in stereo together, they just do their own thing
- Each is 2.25" cubed, about the size of a lime, or a billiard ball, or a fetus at 12 weeks
- Bluetooth or aux-in, depending on whether you find pairing or wires more hassle
- Three hours to a charge, but hey, you get two, so you can go six hours between juicing sessions
- Choose any color you want as long as it’s red
- Model: HL2508C (that’s specifically for the red one we’re selling - we like a model number that can get us down to the color level in just seven characters)
Go small or stay home.
“Portable” means different things in different contexts. The first standalone TVs, big and boxy though they were, were called “portable” just because they weren’t massive pieces of furniture. A porta-potty is more portable than a fixed-plumbing toilet, but it’s still not something you’re going to tote around town.
We sold a previous version of this Bēm Portable Bluetooth Speaker a couple of years ago. The main difference with this one? It’s a quarter-inch smaller. That’s huge.
In your suitcase, backpack, or beach bag, every quarter-inch matters. Every centimeter could make the difference between bringing something along and leaving it at home. If you want portable, the less speaker, the better.
At 2.25" cubed, this is basically a golf ball with corners. It still sounds a lot bigger than it is. Or, to put it another way, it’s a lot smaller than it sounds. And hence, more portable than ever.
Which is pretty important in a, you know, portable speaker. You could certainly find a bigger portable speaker. But why settle for more?
