But it was too late. Cork Muldoon quickly drew his own tiny laser pistol from a fold in his tentacled body and fired a shot, hitting the space cop before he could pull the trigger on his own weapon. The remaining three aliens, all of them shooting now, along with the four humans, took cover behind big boxes of cargo–boxes whose contents are of no importance, and which would’ve been artfully introduced earlier if this were a real story, and not something written with great haste to fill space during an e-commerce event.
