@the_inevitable Wireless ONLY means that it supports Wifi and no need for network wires. @MrMark is correct in that you have to have a power outlet for a power source ( in the specifications-> Power: DC 5V micro USB ) as there is not internal batteries in this unit unlike the drastically more expensive Netgear Arlo cameras and systems that have to be recharged frequently. Mine did come with a 110 to 5v DC plug in adapter for the micro USB cord.
@communist@Geirskogul True 16GB SD memory. Note the SD card is totally internal and not easily user replaceable or switchable. You have to tear down the unit to its bare circuits to change out or upgrade the memory card. There is an amazon reviewer that includes teardown pictures in his review to get to the SD card.
My wyzecam v2 cameras just showed up from my preorder $20 each plus shipping, use a QR code in the iPhone app to setup and a magnet to mount, not wireless and no pivot or zoom so placement requires some careful thought
I bought 2 of these a few months ago from Amazon site. I paid about twice for what this deal is going for. I like the pivots and they have really done their job. The humidity and temperature logging also have come in handy and would have alerted me to an indoor flood that caused water and mold damage at my unattended family’s home when we were away. This company seems to be taking the internal memory out of products like this to nudge you into buying a dvr system with it and or their premium subscription cloud service. These units have 16GB memory and will store alerts and video clips even when the wifi is disconnected or unable to sufficiently upload with low bandwidth.
Anyone having trouble setting this up with 2.4 mhz WIFI? I have dualband router and iPhone is connected to the lower band and still cannot connect to WIFI.
Thanks in advance - the Zmodo website is not much help and I don’t want to get on the phone with them if possible.
Like the pivots that I purchased from Meh. Though it would be awesome if they didn’t need the cord for an initial step into home security systems they are great. It is difficult to find a place to use the 360 degree video capture I still find that option valuable. I had some difficulty with initial setup, but that was solved with help from the Meh staff. I recommend the Pivot.
I have 4 of these in a small apartment and they work great for my needs. They notify me when someone comes into my apartment and even though I am not using cloud storage maintain enough video. How I have them setup, I don’t need the door or window sensors. It works great for my needs. Thanks.
