If you have kids and are looking for a unique and inexpensive toy, go for it. I bought one previously and probably had more fun flying it around than the kid! Comes with 2 batteries which is nice so you can charge one while using the other.
@HankB33 At a glance, it’s easy to mustake them for the common English sparrow that’s found in much of North America at this point, but the markings have many differences. The black spot below and behind the eye, and the greatly reduced barring on the wing feathers, are the two easiest to spot right away. (I think I first saw one about 20 years ago, and though it looked odd, but couldn’t place exactly why.
The big difference is that where the English (or House) sparrow is a cavity nester, the Eurasian sparrow is a tree-nesting species. Neither is native, but the Eurasian is less of a threat to the native species.
As it happens, today I was feeling the loss of someone who deeply appreciated cardinals and who passed that appreciation on to me. So thank you very much for this beautiful and timely write-up.

Mine appears to be DOA and won’t turn on with the battery that was supplied in the box when inserted in either orientation. Currently waiting for the one that shipped inside the bird to charge and then I’ll try again.

I knew it!
@erthian Are you saying you have a bird brain?
@ircon96 No. @erthian is saying this deal is for the birds.
This deal is really something to crow about!
@yakkoTDI No need to parrot the sales pitch; it really is beneath you!
No
Haha thanks but fuck no
Just in time for Halloween: Alfred Hitchcock’s Return of the Birds
@FightingMongoos Is that a euphemism for your reaction when you saw today’s “deal”?
@FightingMongoos @ircon96
Yes, they’re giving it the bird.
I prefer a Phoenix, because it will need to resurrect itself in my hands.
@hchavers Just make sure you keep it well away from your house!

Deja vu, all over again!
@robson Or, is it déjà flew…?
All birds are government-controlled robot drones anyway.
@awk
@awk I thought that was just pigeons. Who changed the conspiracy theory?
@awk @warpedrotors I think it was Candyman. Or, was it Slenderman?
I can’t keep those fools straight!
@awk @warpedrotors @ircon96
Tall Man…
@awk @warpedrotors the Men in Black! As bored are really Aliens!
The review link in the description high points list is much more believable than the commercial and still makes it look pretty decent.
So now MEH wants us to pay them to give us the bird?
@lonocat I gave them two birds for free… Hey, that’s some racket they’ve got going!
This bird isn’t real.

@JvB How did you get the kid to fly around?
@werehatrack just add sugar
@JvB @werehatrack and remove gravity.
Hey! Those are Eurasian Tree Sparrows in the last image with the Creepy Cardinal.
They only place they live in the Americas is around St. Louis, Missouri because a dozen were brought over from Europe and released in 1870.
@BarnacleBobbie That’s cool. I thought they were house sparrows, another invasive that I see everywhere.

Flappy birds IRL.
FINALLY it’s sold out! I don’t have to look at this to remind me of a purchase I fully regret.
It doesn’t work at all. Scurries along the ground. How can I return this POS?
@orrink Contact meh.com/support for assistance.

Anyone receive a working bird?
Update to add that the second battery worked just fine, but I would still like a working spare. Anyone know where to buy extra batteries?
@aarmea Had the same problem. Battery in bird was DOA. Wrote zing com and they gave me this link. https://www.gogobird.com/collections/all. Alas everything on their website is sold out.
@aarmea Found used battery for sale on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/143975334257
