I put vacuuming cuz I didn’t really know what else to put. I don’t have a lawn thank the Lord and Lady and if it snowed here we what all think we had died and gone to hell. But in actual holiday I’d love to have somebody to clean the back porch
@BergyD I’m definitely getting to an age where snow removal is starting to take a huge toll on my back. Add to that fact that I’m the only one on my block who clears the alley at all (don’t ask; my city leaves that to the residents) and it has started to be overwhelming. I’d rather cover all the rest of it for the entire year than deal with up to 6 months of moving heavy forms of frozen water
I only recall a few times over the last 30 years in Houston where the snow wasn’t gone the same day. The most memorable one being that time where ice and snow shut down most of Texas for days and the whole country made fun of us. It was probably deserved.
@catthegreat@cbatte We had a bad one back around '82 or '83 that had things at a standstill for a couple of days, and there was a long freeze in the teens that put enough ice on the freeway overpasses that getting around was a whole lot of fun, if you’re into that kind of thing. (I coped. Most people just stayed home.)
@earl_danger Yeah, rarely a big problem in this part of NW Oregon. On the occasion that there is significant snow (it does happen sometimes), the inevitable power outage is a bigger issue (overhead lines along country roads flanked with big trees). If the snowfall is deep enough to matter (and the road has been plowed by the county crew), I can clear my 100ft of driveway with my 4WD tractor if we need to get out.
Dishes.
My mom used to get mad at me because when it was my turn to wash the dishes, I’d wash about half of them and then get bored.
In my defense, I had already washed dishes for several minutes. What more could anyone reasonably expect from a child or teen?

Cleaning the bathroom. It’s inherently gross, so I put it off, which makes it more gross, ad nauseum.
