@tinamarie1974 yes. It’s important to go to a licensed jewelry grinder. A lot of places are run out of alleys, and basically just use a mortar and pestle, or worse, just pound on the gems with a crescent wrench or whatever they have lying around. What you want is an outfit with a diamond-tipped burr grinder and a good filtration system so that you don’t get any machine oil in the powder. (I could tell you a story about my cousin Darryl here, but it’s a bit opaque.)
@UncleVinny because amethysts have healing powers, right? Just saw that in a movie the other day. But they were carrying around a stone. I had no idea they could be ingested! Very interesting.
@tinamarie1974 it matters where you get the amethysts, too. Ideally you want to only harvest them when your rising sign is in Leo. Leo controls a lot of your respiratory virus issues.
If you can’t harvest them yourself, it’s really important that it’s done by someone related to you. And I know, you’re thinking, “Well, aren’t we all related, in a way?!” and I’m like “Yeah, but…”
See, amethysts are strange. They will bond to a family. And there are probably, like, faerie powers involved, and the Meztec Council probably has a role, but all that’s outside my training. So, anyway, have it done by a relative. If you’re not closely related to anyone in Brazil, you can sign some adoption papers over the internet. The amethysts I’ve used that were collected by my “cousin” Darryl seem to recognize temporal authority in that regard.

If I’m off work, 12 hours of sleep, a mug of hot beef bouillon, some Gatorade, and ample amounts of cold medicine. If I have to work, dayquil and suffering.
Drugs, lots and lots of drugs. I’m talking OTC here. I don’t know what you were thinking, cause doubt THAT stuff helps with colds. Usually pseudophedrin for sinus, ibuprofen for fever, guaifenesin for stuffy nose and dextromethorphan for cough. Get them separately and take as necessary. Too many all-in-one have things you don’t need at the time.
Cold,flu, pmeumonia and my ND said even sepsis with IV. Here’s 2 MD’s talking about it from the HIghwire. I used to get sick twice a year which always ended in bronchitis, but no more. So grateful. Doesn’t matter they’re talking c-19, it works for any type of cold! Dr Linus Pauling has extensive research on it. (Not selling anything, it’s better to watch than for me to explain how to take it, short interview) https://www.bitchute.com/video/oeneLzpQrEcZ/
@amehzinggrace don’t know that I’ve ever had a real Pho…
but there is a Thai place here in town…their Chicken Sukiyaki is what does it for me… it really is Good for what ails you!
mucinex. i go through an entire bottle or pack of pills at regular intervals like it was antibiotics. by the end, i’m good. if the congestion is really, really bad i will also use nose drops (not nasal spray) before bed so i can get to sleep.
food-wise, egg drop soup (lipton chicken noodle + egg) is my go-to because that’s what my mom always made me. the medicine handles the physical stuff, the soup is to comfort the mind.
I used to get 2-3 colds every fall-winter-spring that usually morphed into sinus infections, lasting 2-5 weeks at a time. Then I had surgery to remove a polyp that was blocking a sinus from draining and haven’t had an infection since. Colds became a 2-3 day minor inconvenience, easily treated with OTC meds. And as I get older, I don’t even seem to get the minor colds as often anymore. In the last year of lockdown isolation, I haven’t had even a minor cold.
@macromeh Ditto up until the polyp… haven’t had that, but i also haven’t had a Sinus, or Ear infection in about 6 years, ever since I started taking Olive Leaf Extract daily.
is it a magic cure all, no, I did just have Covid… but I only had typical Cold/Flu symptoms.
My Dad, who doesn’t take Olive Leaf, developed Covid related double Pneumonia and had to be hospitalized.
am I suggesting there’s a Clear causation there? of course not. that would be silly.
I’m 41, and He’s 75. that plays a part.
ignore it and power through. Only recently have I started using Sudafed or other medications. My husband has been a SAHD for 9 years, so I very rarely took time off.
2 Beverages:
Jasmine tea
a “Punch” we used to get at my Daycare… always makes me feel better.
Really Simple to make.
Equal Parts Hawaiian Punch(or similar) and 7up(or similar)
Extra calories and rest.
Lemon lime Gatorade, cherry jello and French bread. Yup its weird, but it helps
@tinamarie1974 never a bad time for jello.
Alcohol, in large amounts. It doesn’t solve anything but you have a better time while miserable if your sense of taste has not been affected.
@Evansdoor remember…Alcohol is a Solution!
Hot Toddy. Don’t know if it works, but it makes getting a cold worth it.
Bourbon, strawberry-kiwi Gatorade and powdered amethysts.
@UncleVinny powdered amethysts, like the crystals?

Diced penguin leavings are my folk remedy for glaucoma.
@f00l @RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 @UncleVinny This thread made me cry. Do you have any suggested remedies for that?
Time.
@lordbowen

Whiskey and sweat it out.
Nothing beats a Nyqil coma.

Pho
Its the really tasty and more effective chicken soup
@amehzinggrace don’t know that I’ve ever had a real Pho…
but there is a Thai place here in town…their Chicken Sukiyaki is what does it for me… it really is Good for what ails you!
Apple cider vinegar and honey with ginger, followed by some elderberry (even though elderberry is gross!)
Works pretty well
mucinex. i go through an entire bottle or pack of pills at regular intervals like it was antibiotics. by the end, i’m good. if the congestion is really, really bad i will also use nose drops (not nasal spray) before bed so i can get to sleep.

One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the morning and before bed with lots of water all day long. I’d kick colds after a day or two.
Hang upside down in a cool dark, dank cave. blah blah blah.
