I didn't really check the shirts.woot collection, but ThinkGeek's collection of Dr Who stuff was disappointing, especially considering they don't really have any Dr Who themed t-shirts for sale
Has 'meh' ever had deals on staples, yet alone 'useful staples?' That is definitely a stark contrast from the usual offering of headphones and "collector knives."
I like understating stuff. It comes in handy for those times where I have to interact with people IRL.
Which reminds me... Because of you, I almost bought my 3rd item from Woot. But then I realized, there's a reason my last order from Woot was on Aug 18, 2010, when I purchased a horrible 5 port usb hub for $3.20 (I had a coupon for free shipping) I call it horrible because it needed to be plugged into the wall, and one of the ports was used to connect to USB port. Even then though, it barely worked.
Instead, I ended up getting a certain shirt through their Amazon store, and for slightly cheaper (although then again, I used my GC balance, so...)
I probably won't wear it though due to the size of MY t-shirt collection, which I believe puts yours to shame (in certain ways). I believe that a different part of my collection deserves more attention than this one.
Well that, and I don't like how the image and text were put on the shirt.
@MsELizardBeth That's why they have options. FWIW, women's AA sizing is typical for the imprint industry; other brands like Tultex, Spectra, Alstyle, Next Level, and even Gildan are sized slim too. Anvil is kind of the anomaly with the women's blanks.
As for the sewing, you don't mean the non-flat hems, do you? That's not a sewing issue but a pressing issue. I have a fair number of shirts with that issue and it's not just AA.
@MsELizardBeth Okay, that's bad. Between the cutter, the seamstress, and QC, someone wasn't paying attention that day.
As a guy, AA has been quite consistent for me over the years. Canvas, OTOH, has not; it doesn't help that they source from many different factories/locations. I've seen 3001's made in Mexico, Nicaragua, Egypt, Croatia, China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya ... and USA. Bella blanks are probably in the same boat.
@FroodyFrog Just woot shirts alone, I was at 501 during their 5 year celebration; I haven't done another count since.
I also haven't done a recount on my Animaniacs and Powerpuff/CN collections. Those are in the triple digits too.
Like I said, if you knew the size of my collection, yours would be put to shame. The way I interpret that, especially since we know approximately how many shirts are in narfcake's collection, is that you have substantially more in your collection.
Wouldn't work. Next month will be stressful for me for various reasons, and not only will I not really be here, but when I am, I'll have a long list of things which need a goat, and I refuse to blame myself.
The meh coffee cups get the most use. I'd spring for a fitbit for a good enough deal though. Mine's a clip on and not as cool as the watch style with the heart rate monitor.
@MsELizardBeth if you really feel you missed out, fill a bag with sand, tie it up, mush it around, lay your head on it. starts a little soft, then hardens with use
Didn't we already do this once? I'm pretty sure I said I wanted things that it hadn't occurred to me that I wanted and I want them at a low price. Did Meh lose my response?
@DaveInSoCal Maybe they just didn't like our first answers so they thought they'd try again. Or maybe we have to keep answering until the answer is something they have ready to sell.
A mix of different useful staples at a huge discount. Lay off the knives, BT speakers, headphones, drones, and such. So boring when those come up over and over and over again.
Nope. That's not how this works. If I KNEW what I wanted, I'd just go buy it.
I need meh to introduce me to something I had no idea existed, never had a use for, and now can't live without. All for a price that makes it impossible to do anything other than buy it.
However, I'd pay $2 if they made a flip book out of this thread.
Metal detector = treasure finder. Beach season is here, it's time to find pirate gold. And Stickups, the next size up. And more Ziploc bags; we don't care what the designs are. And I'm pretty sure you'll have a 4K HDTV soon, because I just bought one.
@OldCatLady But good ones, not ones that are cheap kid toy level detectors. Ones that are half decent. or all the way decent. Of course I'd pay more for a good one.
@OldCatLady the blow up floats for the pool and beach that look like animals, twinkies, or food. with a blow up palm tree and some blow up balls.
The ziplocs is how I got on meh, I got a text with the deal and waited for a few days to try and buy them not knowing it was a deal a day and they sell out of the item. I have been checking for the bags since, Bring them back.
Right now I'm low on AAA 's . Plus a really high grade ( that means not toy quality ) rock tumbler. So I can tumble all the gold I'll be finding w/ my high quality metal detector ( see post a few up )
I'd like to see knives, but not the kitchen or pocket sort. A nice Japanese breakaway utility, like an NT Cutter or at the very least an Olfa. Could even be a twofer!
All of them.
(Yes, this is me being a lickspittling sycophant in hope of fuku . . . )
@Pavlov Such as suck up. Bring it down a notch, lickspittling sycophant is trending on Google with everyone looking it up.
Shirts.
@narfcake American Apparel shirts right?
@narfcake
We need to have a talk about that...
@communist Good guess! Considering @snapster once tweeted about whether woot "was still using those wide neck things", I'm thinking it's pretty safe.
@FroodyFrog I've been a bad influence?
@narfcake
All I'll say is, that I've been influenced in different ways by yourself and @jaremelz
@FroodyFrog Cursing catshirts!
@narfcake
Deep breaths.
@narfcake
This looks like a fun T-shirt.
@FroodyFrog
WANT
@f00l
Not being sold anymore
@FroodyFrog
Regenerated already?
@f00l
Its the Whoniverse, nothing has to make sense.
@FroodyFrog
Want that shirt.
:(
@f00l
Firstly I blame @narfcake. Secondly, does this one suit you?
@FroodyFrog
Might do. Not the instant connection, but considering....
@f00l
Just checked ThinkGeek and Shirts.Woot.
I didn't really check the shirts.woot collection, but ThinkGeek's collection of Dr Who stuff was disappointing, especially considering they don't really have any Dr Who themed t-shirts for sale
BRINGBACKSPEAKERDOCKS
@communist #Speakerdocksmatter
Has 'meh' ever had deals on staples, yet alone 'useful staples?' That is definitely a stark contrast from the usual offering of headphones and "collector knives."
@elimanningface ziploc bags.
@elimanningface Knives aren't a staple???
@elimanningface AA & AAA batteries.
@cercopithecoid
Didn't one of the recent attempts to sell batteries end in a bit of a failure?
@FroodyFrog A bit is an understatement. What's sad is despite warnings by fellow Mehricans, Woot still sold a lot of those leaky pieces of shit.
@narfcake
I like understating stuff. It comes in handy for those times where I have to interact with people IRL.

@FroodyFrog Unless it's a creme shirt, expect any other woot shirt sold on Amazon to be on a mutant Anvil blank.
@narfcake I prefer anvil. American apparel is soft, but their women's sizing is not only dumb but inconsistent and often poorly sewn.
@narfcake
This is what I got:
I probably won't wear it though due to the size of MY t-shirt collection, which I believe puts yours to shame (in certain ways). I believe that a different part of my collection deserves more attention than this one.

@elimanningface Oh yeah, like those wacky Arrow T59 variety. Some of those. And the gun for 'em.
@FroodyFrog If the print was skewed or too low, that's grounds for complaints. I've gotten belly prints before.
Soooo ... how big is your shirt collection?
@narfcake
You don't even wanna know. hehehe
@narfcake we use them for roller derby league shirts. One skater had a side seam that literally crossed her bellybutton.
@narfcake
Like I said, if you knew the size of my collection, yours would be put to shame.
@FroodyFrog
@dashcloud
@FroodyFrog
@dashcloud
Has anyone been making that claim?
@FroodyFrog This would suggest you are:
@dashcloud
In all secrecy, my collection is a single digit. My intent was that someone should be shamed that @narfcake's collection is so large.
But, if collecting t-shirts keeps @narfcake out of trouble, who am I to complain?
@dashcloud: Nominate @FroodyFrog for April?
And is that out of trouble or in?
@narfcake @dashcloud
Wouldn't work. Next month will be stressful for me for various reasons, and not only will I not really be here, but when I am, I'll have a long list of things which need a goat, and I refuse to blame myself.
@narfcake
As for in/out of trouble, it depends on who's perspective you're using.
@FroodyFrog Then in that case, is the cat in the box alive or dead?
And this is the second time you're making excuses for not wanting to be goated. That's only building up more reasons, y'know.
@narfcake
Douglas Adams covered that in 1987 in
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e9cb/
Excuses are invalid reasons.
I give reasons, not excuses. (Hmmm, I should get business cards for myself with that saying on the back)
@narfcake
@thismyusername
Sure, leave the URL out and make someone else bother to get it...
Speaking of which...

@thismyusername @FroodyFrog: I have several copies of that one ... and these too:

(I like purple.)

And the GITD one from TT:
No longer available, so no link.
I like items that I can actually use, like ziploc bags. That was the best deal ever in the history of deal sites.
@awk apparently we're having the same wishful thoughts tonight, since I commented about those at the same time as you posted.
@MsELizardBeth I just used a meh ziploc bag a few minutes ago. I trust meh enough to put food in things they send me!
@awk me too!
water bottles and blankets
The meh coffee cups get the most use. I'd spring for a fitbit for a good enough deal though. Mine's a clip on and not as cool as the watch style with the heart rate monitor.
Oh and those bamboo pillows! I missed those!
@MsELizardBeth You mean bamboo bricks, right?
@narfcake i like firm pillows. Or no pillows most of the time.
@MsELizardBeth if you really feel you missed out, fill a bag with sand, tie it up, mush it around, lay your head on it. starts a little soft, then hardens with use
@jaybird but I go to bed with wet hair. I think that would make the sand gross.
@MsELizardBeth Wet sand couldn't be any worse than wet pillow stuffing.
@MsELizardBeth Have you looked into buckwheat hull pillows?
Oh and my kid lived his meep tablet and I'll apparently buy things with which to charge my phone no matter how many I have
Didn't we already do this once? I'm pretty sure I said I wanted things that it hadn't occurred to me that I wanted and I want them at a low price. Did Meh lose my response?
@pooflady Lol. I wrote essentially the same thing below, not even noticing the highest starred comment. Well done.
@DaveInSoCal Maybe they just didn't like our first answers so they thought they'd try again. Or maybe we have to keep answering until the answer is something they have ready to sell.
Interesting, unusual products at a huge discount
Drones. No one else has said drones yet? Or do they count as staples?
Chromebooks.
@sligett love the drones... I'd buy more if they popped up.
Bedding like sheet sets, comforters.
A mix of interesting unusual products with useful staples at a huge discount
Moar headphones. Cheap. Cheaper, even.
A mix of different useful staples at a huge discount. Lay off the knives, BT speakers, headphones, drones, and such. So boring when those come up over and over and over again.
Wifey wants more ziploc bags and more of those really nice meh socks.
No, that's not an oxymoron.
And I agree, on both items.
Oh, and why isn't one of the choices "all of the above?"
Nope. That's not how this works. If I KNEW what I wanted, I'd just go buy it.
I need meh to introduce me to something I had no idea existed, never had a use for, and now can't live without. All for a price that makes it impossible to do anything other than buy it.

Rope Lights!
no speaker docks or headphones; anything but speaker docks and headphones....
@Steve7654 what about bang and olsen
Metal detector = treasure finder. Beach season is here, it's time to find pirate gold. And Stickups, the next size up. And more Ziploc bags; we don't care what the designs are. And I'm pretty sure you'll have a 4K HDTV soon, because I just bought one.

And some kind of DVR, like -oh, I don't know, a standard Roamio. And a really decent router, like last year's model Asus RT-AC88U.
For rerun stuff: I wouldn't turn up my nose at more MONSTER DIGITAL USB 3.0 DRIVEs, or a couple more HOMEDICS RAPID RELIEF TENS PAIN RELIEF BUNDLEs.
Something new- I have pretty much everything you've sold so far.
Right now I'm low on AAA 's .
Plus a really high grade ( that means not toy quality ) rock tumbler.
So I can tumble all the gold I'll be finding w/ my high quality metal detector ( see post a few up )
@ceagee
Tell ya what, if you agree to split any gold with me 75% - 25% with me, I'll send you some mediocre AAA batteries. ;)
I'd like to see knives, but not the kitchen or pocket sort. A nice Japanese breakaway utility, like an NT Cutter or at the very least an Olfa. Could even be a twofer!
A inexpensive deal for a optional donation of the product or a few dollars to a charity.
Ones that don't SUCK
Deals that feed my sense of superiority.
Nothing that makes me think i might actually get off the couch and do something about the floor. No manual vacuums. No brooms. NO MOPS. Ever.
I like not seeing the same things over and over. Do not repeat items each month.
Strange and unusual technology. I could use some electrical outlets with wireless remotes.
