@marklog I'm nervous about economies of scale with coolest.. They failed to achieve funding their first time, then hit $13million the next try.. Not sure how it will turn out.. But if they had switched to the lithium batteries before the funding period ended I would have backed anyway.. That was my main reason not to, then they went and added them later!
If they scrapped the blender (and the associated cost) I might actually back it. I have no use for a portable blender. Obviously over 22k people disagree with me.
I missed out on this Kickstarter campaign, but I am a backer of Zane Lamprey's new show "Chug" which will be airing on the NatGeo channel in the fall! I've already seen all the episodes as a backer, which is good because I don't have cable.
Actually, not to mash things up, but I thought it would be kinda fun for the fuku thingies to have some of the stuff snapster's received from the 20 zillion projects he's funded. (And most of the project rewards I've received have been meh at best.) I'm hoping this one makes me want more, though:
@tightwad In fact, new ways of robbing convenience stores is exactly why I keep an eye on new Kickstarter projects. Ski masks and balaclavas are just played out. (Anyway, around here, guys just smash SUVs into Best Buy's doors and run in and grab stuff. Masks are actually pretty moot.)
@luvche21 I saw another water balloon company that had a tool you could use to fill and tie balloons. It was probably more eco-friendly, but this has a higher awesomeness factor. I recently received my 2 kits (200 balloons) and am waiting for the right moment to strike!
That's funny, showing myself is exactly what the judge ordered me not to do anymore, especially within 500 yards of a school. And I prefer to think of my product stories as "creative-ish". (For real, hey dudes! It's great to be part of something weird again!)
This is my favorite that I backed. Really looking forward to getting this product. I do a lot of nighttime LED light photography so this is going to be very heavily used.
Only backed a couple projects besides Meh. I don't really need more notebooks but the Sketchy Notebook pretty nearly fixes everything that's annoyed me about notebooks.
It was already funded, but I am still really excited about The Dash smart earbuds. If they meet their timeline (we'll see how that goes) I should receive mine this fall. Really great idea and well executed!
@Kevin It wasn't about the money. They wanted to see if there was any interest in creating another daily deals site. The FUKU they gave you was worth more than the money you spent in the Kickstarter so they did not make any money from it.
The tabletop board game market has glommed onto Kickstarter. Stonemaier Games is one of the ones I actually like to back instead of waiting for retail.
@rockblossom Oh, I know, but who's to say I'll remember next year? Who's to say I won't be lying on my deathbed many years from now, when my robot assistant asks 'Did you ever remember to buy product (bleep bloop) THIMBLEWEED PARK', my last words a frustrated 'plomb-digge—'
('Plomb-diggety' will be the hot new swear by then).
No potato salad.
Nothing. This was the first, and only, thing I've funded on Kickstarter. I'm not sure if I'm lame or just frugal.
Same here. I'd never been to KS before. Interesting tho, I'll have to explore one day.
"Coolest" - the most awesome looking cooler I've ever seen. Hubby won't agree to take $165 out of the joint checking account to back it.
i've seen it. Minimum entry to get a Coolest is now $185. I, like you, couldn't get it past The Boss.

@marklog and I just realized that someone necro'd an old thread, so this is way out of date!

I really wanted to back this one, but just can't help but think they're going to be much worse than my own clubs.
Great co-op board game!
That's epic
I funded this. I really want smart wallets to become a thing.
Conceptually yes, but I don't like the form factor. I'd prefer a card that slid into my normal wallet and provided the same benefits.
Bluetooth Speaker Powered BY FIRE

I'm backing a friend of mine who is attempting to record an EP. It might be good, might be meh.
You could back what is now my second-favorite Hamlet-related Kickstarter:
I funded that other Hamlet project too. Best backer updates ever. Might need to keep the Hamlet goodness going.

And this is going to be my Halloween costume this year:
(I'm getting the one with the yellow stripe so I can velcro a stuffed animal to it and go as roadkill)
@editorkid Oh good, now they make hoodies that turn into masks. Perfect for "shopping" at the local Stop and Rob

I don't have a favorite but I feel the need to participate. I just backed this:
My favourite kickstarter right now:
Just realized... Plano? @snapster, Is this a mediocre experiment??
Looks cool! My biggest hesitation is the extra waste, as well as the April 2015 delivery date.
I just backed this the other day. :)
I also backed this one!
@marklog Weren't they on Shark Tank a while back?
@luvche21 I saw another water balloon company that had a tool you could use to fill and tie balloons. It was probably more eco-friendly, but this has a higher awesomeness factor. I recently received my 2 kits (200 balloons) and am waiting for the right moment to strike!
Is that a picture of toon stuffing his face with potato chips?
why yes, it is.
man i miss that guy, hope he's doing well.
he's around here somewhere.. doing some creative-y work I think. @jasontoon, show yourself!
That's funny, showing myself is exactly what the judge ordered me not to do anymore, especially within 500 yards of a school. And I prefer to think of my product stories as "creative-ish". (For real, hey dudes! It's great to be part of something weird again!)

hokay, I give up. How do you all embed the kickstarter widget? [/newbie]
Looks like the project you funded is missing.. The link is an error, and I can't search for Sketchy Notebook...
marklog posted the right link, below. I cannot internet good.
@ardgedee who's fault is that? not marklog-because it's March.
this is fantastic. i just pre-ordered one.
I'd call it awesome but mine hasn't arrived yet. Which means it's exactly as good as everything I've bought from meh so far.
@ardgedee Thanks I think I found my brother's birthday present (ok he will get a custom certificate to backing it from me)
your link had the description mixed in with it. I just pasted the link directly in and it embedded.
Most recently backed:
That also happens to be my 100th backed project.
Here's the most recent Kickstarter I'm excited about, other than Meh.
i see some potential. biggest issue: my coffee drinking occurs right after I have unplugged my phone from the JBL speaker dock.
also, $60 is a pretty tall barrier to entry
This is my favorite right now.
It was already funded, but I am still really excited about The Dash smart earbuds. If they meet their timeline (we'll see how that goes) I should receive mine this fall. Really great idea and well executed!
sorry to rez an old thread, but this was too epic not to share. Has anyone seen this?
I don't have any money, and I regret funding Meh. I'm starting to think it was just a marketing ploy, and they didn't really need the money.
@Kevin It wasn't about the money. They wanted to see if there was any interest in creating another daily deals site. The FUKU they gave you was worth more than the money you spent in the Kickstarter so they did not make any money from it.
I'm watching this one:
The tabletop board game market has glommed onto Kickstarter. Stonemaier Games is one of the ones I actually like to back instead of waiting for retail.
I miss the old computer adventure games, so:
@rockblossom Crap, I forgot all about that one!
@brhfl You snooze, you ... Wait! Um. Maybe that's a fukubukuro. You can still buy the game when it officially comes out next year.

Friends don't let friends fund kickstarter
After all you can only pay through amacrap and they've screwed me way too many times for me to ever buy through their checkout again
@Cerridwyn Actually KS (unfortunately, in my opinion) ditched Amazon Payments for Stripe.
I decided to look, and this one is really neat.
I'm not gonna buy it, but it is appealing to me and it is what I wanted out of a gamepad.
I am shocked and appalled that no one has mentioned Exploding Kittens (though to be fair its campaign is over).
@lumpthar That's the one I just funded! :)
