I got the fabric one last time it was around and I like it but on the very lowest setting using a dimmable LED bulb it kind of flickers. I like the color LED one. Maybe that one is worth a shot?
I love the idea of a lamp with a USB port. It would be nice to replace my current lamp which gathers dust easily on the lampshade and is currently using a 450 lumens A19 light.
What kind of light bulb is needed for the Color LED lamp? I’m thinking of buying that and/or the Traditional Lamp with the one port. I don’t need the wireless charging, but it’s nice in the event I ever get a phone that can take advantage of the feature.
@JT954 The color LED lamp has built-in LEDs so there is no bulb separately.
the lampshade one apparently just takes a normal bulb so it can be whatever you want. I was thinking of putting a Hue bulb in there so I can control it with my other Hue stuff. but for that to work ai’d need to leave the lamp control always on so the ahue would control itself. You can even get Hue color bulbs which are great but quite expensive, more than these lamps.
@hchavers I don’t really think it’s a fair assessment to refer to people who have a structured routine as ‘addicts’. Some of us prefer to take out the bulk of our messages and correspondences when we wake up, so as to avoid being tied to our devices throughout the rest of the day.
@RedOak The second (shade) lamp takes a normal 120V bulb (you’d probably put an LED bulb in it), so has a direct power cord and no separate adapter needed.
The fourth one I am not sure.
Wireless charging is meh if I still have to leave my phone on the thing. It’s just a charger that’s easier to accidentally disconnect. I’ll change my mind when there’s a decent range.
I bought a similar lamp (different brand), and it couldn’t charge my phone more than about 10%. Plus it’s so lightweight that the cats and I kept knocking it over without even trying. I don’t know if I trust these to be any higher quality.
I got one of these before; only to be made to realize they don’t have any style or charm. It’s in my trunk now with other stuff I bought with no style or charm.
@macromeh More likely, it will take a long walk on a short pier. That sounds dramatic. Probably give it to Savers. They support Big Brothers Big Sisters
I bought the fabric shade lamp last time it was up, and have been mostly pleased. It looks like a reasonable, non-gimmicky lamp, which is nice, it charges my phone fine, and the lamp switch is easy to reach from bed to turn it off. Downsides are that I can confirm the flickering at the lowest light level (I have a small LED bulb in it), and the charging indicator light is a bright blue LED. I can’t figure out why everyone puts a bright blue indicator LED on all kinds of things meant to go in dark bedrooms, but here we are. I put some tape over it, just like all my other annoying blue indicator lights.
I got the small seafoam green one in my last IRK, and I have to say I like it a lot. I use it close to my sewing machine to add a lot more light to the working area. It does charge a phone too but I am not generally at the sewing machine long enough to use it.
I bought the swivel lamp for my desk and I’ve been pretty pleased with it. It’s convenient to put my phone on there and still be able to use my plug in Headphones to make calls. The only drawback for me is that the room I work in is generally dark. And I need a lamp that projects upward. So I’m going to buy the fabric lamp for my office and see how that one fits into my office instead.
Anyone know what kind of power the wireless chargers are? This would be nice to have on my desk but if it’s going to take 5 hours to charge my phone I might as well just plug it in.
Edit: I’m an idiot and didn’t read the description above. Disregard.
@Kyeh so the point is, if you ever read anything stupid on meh, assume first someone is trying to make a stupid joke, and not necessarily that such person is stupid.
The fabric lamp linked to at Wayfair doesn’t appear to be the one for sale here. And the IH-QI6072W model number doesn’t show up anywhere but… from checkout.org/mediocre co. sites.

Meh?
Meh, you light up my life.
I like that the color LED and the swivel lamps are only 2 dimensions, will save a ton of desktop space!

People have their phones beside the bed? Let me guess; its the first thing they look at in the morning.
I wish I had the investment to start a rehab house for connected addicts.
@hchavers Or maybe because it also functions as an alarm clock? I bet you look at your clock as soon as you wake up, don’t you?
@hchavers it must be nice not to have loved ones who might call you in the middle of the night with an emergency.
@hchavers A little judgmental there, eh?
@hchavers People had phones beside their beds even way back when phones were just phones, which isn’t to say they aren’t even more addictive now.

Did I miss it? So the 2nd and 4th models include A/C adapters, but not the 1st and 3rd models?

@accelerator Dead hooker, huh?
@accelerator Are you hoping it will become more stylish/charming with age?
@accelerator @cinoclav I was going to make “the wife” joke, but wow. Um, wow.
/giphy And I’ll raise you…

M-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-h.
Cap’n Crunch does not even hold the rank of captain, let alone commodore.
@zachdecker Commander Crunch!
My son has the “iHome Traditional Fabric Lamp” from a previous sale, & he likes it - says it’s a pretty neat little lamp.
I got the small seafoam green one in my last IRK, and I have to say I like it a lot. I use it close to my sewing machine to add a lot more light to the working area. It does charge a phone too but I am not generally at the sewing machine long enough to use it.

Sigh… in for 2. Looks fun for the kids. Amazon has 4.5 stars and iHome is a solid brand.

@ChrisHBelAir
They just recalled a bunch of “Crocodile Hunter” sunblock. Apparently it fails to protect against harmful rays.
@ChrisHBelAir @Trinityscrew Euwwww…
@Trinityscrew I don’t get the point.
@ChrisHBelAir @Trinityscrew Oh my God lmao
@ChrisHBelAir Google Steve Irwin…
@Kyeh but I use DuckDuckGo.
@ChrisHBelAir
Well - ask it about Steve Irwin!
@Kyeh it said Steve was killed by the barbed tail of a ray. Guess he didn’t get the point either.
@Kyeh so the point is, if you ever read anything stupid on meh, assume first someone is trying to make a stupid joke, and not necessarily that such person is stupid.
@ChrisHBelAir YOU obviously got the point! Actually I think a lot of the jokes are pretty good - but sometimes they’re kinda mean.
@Kyeh true.

I bought the rectangular one a while back. The wireless charging stopped working after about a week.
I see the color LED lamp sold out.
Good thing I bought it earlier. I hope the lights aren’t hard to replace.
