@elimanningface I’ve been a little more disappointed with each series since Jessica Jones. Currently struggling through Iron Fist, hoping the Punisher is better. Bring back JJ!
@ConAndLibrarian I spoke too soon. The Punisher was pretty good. I hesitate to put it ahead of Jessica Jones but I hesitate to do vice versa either. @callow have you had a chance to complete the first season and if so, what did you think?
@macromeh I hope Legion is on Netflix or on FX Now.
@elimanningface OMG I haven’t binge watched a series in years! That was right up there with Jessica Jones. Wouldn’t they make an interesting couple? I’d love to know how many gallons of blood they used for this season.
Soooo what should I watch now? (after I catch up on sleep)
@callow Glow is a lighthearted drama. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was hilarious. Narcos, Ozark, Orange is the New Black - good, good, good! If I wasn’t a sports fan, I’d have cut the cord by now (wait…Bob’s Burgers isn’t on Netflix anymore…that’s binge worthy too!).
Give us some recommendations too if you don’t mind!
@elimanningface Loved the first two seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Orange is the New Black, then trailed off watching them in the third seasons. Others I started and liked but haven’t kept up with are Homeland, American Horror Story and Bates Motel. Sitcoms I like are Modern Family, Parks and Rec, and Big Bang Theory. Aside from the Marvel shows, I think the last full series I watched were Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad.
Walking Dead is the only show I watch as it airs. It seems I lose interest when there is a long break.
Takes me a long time to get through those Marvel shows.
They’re serious and straight enough to feel like they require attention and feel like a bit of a downer, but they’re also super hero-trivial enough to not think about when I’m not watching them.
I mean, I like them and all, but I haven’t watched all of Daredevil yet, even.
It felt like a departure from the other marvel shows, both in its subject matter & in it not being tied in storywise as much as the others. I wasn’t a huge fan of the veteran storyline but it was well done.
@lisaviolet totally disagree. The Punisher has to have some kind of enhanced ability at least when it comes to marksmanship. Didn’t he shoot a guy in Mexico from Texas?
@lisaviolet I guess I have to see The Accountant then. I don’t think Castle was built that way though. His backstory is pretty murky at this point though so may be right.
@elimanningface We do this thing where we pull in information from other shows/movies that an actor has done. Like in the Punisher, I guess Rawlins didn’t like being a priest (the Sopranos) and went into a different line of work.
Braxton (the Accountant) has a lot of the same qualities that Frank has in the Punisher.
I really liked Punisher but I’m having trouble articulating why. Like, maybe it was more about internal conflict? Or understanding why people are the way they are? Neither of those are totally right. I just can’t put my finger on it.
@katylava from your questions, it sounds like you witnessed and appreciated the emotional depth of the characters. Though the story is fictional the characters seemed real and believable.
I haven’t but plan on it. I feel comfortable in predicting it won’t best season one of Jessica Jones.

@callow the Defenders had it’s moments I thought. Was the second season of Daredevil after Jessica Jones, too? I thought that was OK too.
Jessica Jones was very good, but Legion (on FX) is my favorite by a large margin. That episode 7 was a work of art!
@elimanningface Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage were after Jessica Jones. They weren’t terrible, they are just not as good as JJ.
@macromeh I’ll have to check out Legion.

@elimanningface I loved it, glad you enjoyed it.
@elimanningface Thanks for the reminder! Watched the first episode last night, good start.

@elimanningface Decided to try DC for a change and liking Arrow after about seven shows.
Forgot to mention that I loved Stranger Things too.
Watched the movie, didn’t realize there was a series. Agree w/elimanningface that it can’t be any better than Jessica Jones.
I’m about to start watching it. I just finished season 2 of Stranger Things…totally awesome.
@mehbee we did too, also Mindhunter!!
@raconnelly23 Agree on Mindhunter!!!

“Please… don’t kill me… I have a Netflix queue!”
The Punisher, brought to you by Ford™
@spitfire6006006 LOL I wouldn’t have noticed that if I hadn’t read your comment before watching.
@ConAndLibrarian - I had a chance to watch a couple of episodes today. It’s pretty good! Thank you for the recommendation.
We finished episode nine last week. We like it.
What I enjoy about Punisher is how they really layer attention to certain social issues (like veterans issues). Great TV show I thought.

@MrGlass Nobody had superpowers. lol!

@elimanningface Did you not see The Accountant? His father taught him how to fight from a young age.

@lisaviolet random, slightly tangential (but probably not), article related to your comment.

@elimanningface I wish he was my neighbor.
I’m somewhere around episode 8 or 9. It’s ok. I’m feeling distracted while watching though. It doesn’t pull my attention 100%.
The pacing is a little too slow, I think.
Finished watching it last night. We liked it.

Is this about a Vice Principal?
