@simplersimon Yeah. You have to monitor the stroopwaffle for signs of structural integrity failure, flip it over a couple of times and then eat it right before the center collapses.
@carl669@earl_danger I’ve never met anyone who drinks cold earl grey tea…I mean unless they’ve gotten distracted and come back to find their mug has gotten cold and they just give up and drink it rather than warming it up again. But that’s how Captain Picard orders his tea and who doesn’t want to be like Jean Luc?
@earl_danger@gt0163c i’m wondering if picard was punished with cold tea as a child, hence the need to specify “hot”. those brits and their polite punishments.
@carl669@earl_danger I always figured it was part of the requirement for the computer/replicator controls. You specify what you want, the specifics and the temperature requirements. But I can imagine all sorts of fun stories about people ordering weird things either as a joke, to suit their odd tastes or as a punishment for kids.
Absolutely. Worth it. I first discovered stroopwafels on SwissAir and everyone did it. Whether or not they knew ahead of time or were just a plane full of sheep, I’ll never know, but I fully admit to being the sheep that day.
@PublicArt So I tried an experiment this morning - Sat the waffle on a mug of ‘thermos hot’ coffee and put the whole shebang in the microwave for 30 seconds. (1000 Watt microwave for calibration purposes). Caramel was just starting to ooze from a couple of spots on the edge and the waffle started to curve down ever so slightly in the center. Magnificent.
Yes.
It was good.
I mix them up in a blender, heat up a spoonful over a BIC lighter flame, and inject directly into my bloodstream.
@ShotgunX mainlining…nice.
It fell in. Still good, though.

Does over hot cocoa instead of coffee count?
@msklzannie Doing anything you want over hot cocoa counts.
@msklzannie I warm mine over a mug of hot tea. Hot cocoa would be amazing…and an extra sugar rush!
Today, in fact.
I microwave them for 10 seconds.
that’s the way I learned when I first encountered them in the Netherlands back in 1991. Found out about “black Pete” then too. That was not as good.
@Oldelvis I’m glad to see that’s just a blackface character and not heroin. I would have guessed wrong.
Left it on too long, so it fell in. But just as tasty!
Does a hot cup of tea count?
@earl_danger Yes. Most definitely. Especially if it’s Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
@earl_danger @gt0163c does “hot” need to be specified? does anyone drink cold earl grey tea?

@carl669 @earl_danger @gt0163c taiwanese-style iced tea with boba. earl grey is definitely on the menu, although i don’t think i’ve ever ordered it.

Oh, I’ve done the thing. Not THAT thing, but I’ve done it. And I’ll do it again.
Absolutely. Worth it. I first discovered stroopwafels on SwissAir and everyone did it. Whether or not they knew ahead of time or were just a plane full of sheep, I’ll never know, but I fully admit to being the sheep that day.
i would, but i eat them as a snack before bed, and caffeine would be. . . counterproductive.
@lifftchi Decaf is your friend,
@lifftchi, herbal tea
@kittykat9180 i refuse to acknowledge it.
@sammydog01 blasphemy.
No, but I’m going home soon to finish my work day from home and I’m going to try it.
Just tried and I like it, but it’s not as mind blowing as some have made it out to be.
I’m going to stoop out a waffle if you don’t stop selling these.
best way to do it
I will try this once the stroopwafels arrive.
I actually didn’t like this! It felt kinda soggy and not just lightly warmed, but maybe I left it on too long.

@mehcuda67 Thanks for the hot tip! I microwaved just the wafer for like 10 seconds and it was deeelicious.
I did one over 10 and it totally melted the wafer. It was molten at first but was still tasty once the caramel hardened.
similar to this
No. Mostly because I don’t stroopwafel.
I am hoping to have the opportunity shortly, once my 96 pack shows up in the next few days.
