Huh, tell me about it… I’ve been on crutches for over 30 YEARS! It used to be two and then after another fall and totally obliviating my hand I was only able to use one forearm crutch. Not only is my spine now looking like a capital C the daily pain in my shoulder, neck and head is sometimes unbearable!
Like you said crutches suck, but I say I guess they’re better than not being able to walk at all!
Here’s to keeping your chin up, and going slow!!
@chienfou@Lynnerizer@PriusRam Crutches do indeed suck. I was on crutches for several months when I busted up my left foot. My daughter was an infant at the time and had just discovered crawling. One time, she crawled over to the dog’s water dish and was having a great time splashing. My wife was not within earshot, so I finally had to put down my crutches and hop on my one good foot, grab her by the overall straps and hop back carrying her.
(The joys of parenthood. )
And don’t even get me started on navigating stairs with crutches…

That’s right! Whenever I start thinking about complaining about my legs I think of the ones without any legs! There’s ALWAYS someone who’s worse off, and if we can’t look at the brighter side life is going get pretty dark and hopeless. I don’t even like putting those words out there in the universe…
I answered with elbow which was a distinctly different response than the majority of people responding. My response was related to the fact that I have a really hard time putting my compression socks on my knee because my damn elbow hurts so bad.
Feet! They’re your foundation! If your feet don’t work/feel good you can’t stand or walk. If your gait is effective then your whole body is in alignment ; if it’s off because of foot pain/ discomfort then everything get misaligned! Then your ankle, knee, hip & back start trying to compensate for the misalignment. Stressing joints & muscles, then pain starts! Vicious cycle! Bodies are complex. Take care of yours if you can as you would your favorite _(insert item). If you want to enjoy it for years.

@medz everyone inside the car was fine.
Truly is a hurt that goes deep into the heart.
Ooh ooh ooh… I can totally answer this as I’I have had all three. Easily the knee, with the foot a close second.
The knee affects so much more of the body than most would ever expect. (Just ask my now screwed up back.)
Hardest recovery (so far) was my Achilles tendon rupture from a fall off a ladder. Hip replacement was a piece of cake.
Crutches suck
@PriusRam
But those knee scooter things are pretty cool…
