World Password Day
7Today (3rd May, 2018) is Password Day
They’re strange, they’re complex, they’re everywhere and we forget them far more than is absolutely healthy for us.
We use them to secure the most private parts of our lives and to help protect our finances, our health records, or maybe just our emails.
World Password Day reminds us of the importance of these little crypto-keys and the role they play in making sure we keep hold on our lives, identity thieves are everywhere, and these are your first digital line of defense.
So, what are your passwords?

@sammydog01 - Your first pet?
@kdemo My first pet was named fuckoff- I had to add the number and special character to meet the password requirements.
all my key ids are in a mad ape den way.
@UncleVinny - I see. So all wee and apt to get? I dig it!
@kdemo e-z as pie, yep!
How about plain old password… Nobody’s gonna guess that anymore.
@djslack - If everyone uses it, it must be good - right?
I don’t remember the requirements, but when I had to create a new login for my bank, they were very restrictive about requirements, and did not allow most special symbols.
Needless to say, I was disappointed.

@medz - Didn’t work. Please try again.
If you take one thing away from World Password Day, it should be that every password should be unique.
It’s unlikely most people can actually remember all those, especially if you don’t regularly log into the account, so find a way of storing them all that works for you (and this way you can make them harder than you can remember, because they’re all stored somewhere).
Also, pop in your email addresses here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/ so you can get notified when your email address shows up in a breach somewhere.
Thanks, @dashcloud!
It’s not too scary to post my e-dress there?
Like this?
@kdemo it’s a totally safe site.
@djslack - Thanks. I tried it. You’ll be glad to know I’m not pwned.

@Ignorant - Does the JK mean what I think it means?
@kdemo nope no meaning to any of it. All random, and all out in the world now.
Makes setting up IoT devices oh so fun
@Ignorant @kdemo You can’t change it via router settings? Also, if that is your wifi password or the router admin password? If the latter, someone could hack your shiz by accessing your router’s config page remotely.
@medz yes, I changed it to that. It’s not the admin password it’s the wifi, that’s why I posted it.
