@mfladd @PlacidPenguin If I read you right, you’re neither getting a pop-up, or a message saying a popup was blocked? Never seen that before. I assume you are running Chrome? Should be something at the top right corner indicating the request was blocked.

@mfladd @PlacidPenguin Woots site will pretty much be sold out when the item appears. Wootstalker will usually show it pretty early, but the best bet is to get it from Twitter since it populates the fastest.

@ruouttaurmind If you are using Chrome, focus might have to be on the current tab playing the audio for it to sound.

@PlacidPenguin Chrome only plays audio on the tab that has focus (I think). So it might not play low stock/new items sounds from wootstalker.com, if you aren’t on wootstalker.com.

Just to validate, you are using the default tracker page right, not the overview or another custom page?

Resolved. Wootstalker was added to the permitted popups sites, but Chrome was still blocking (and not giving any notification). I had to mod the Allowed entry with a port switch. So in Chrome’s “Allow” settings, http://www.wootstalker.com didn’t work, but http://www.wootstalker.com:80 does work.

Good news:

Wootstalker finally decided to let the popups work. Unfortunately it wasn’t until 15 seconds after I saw it elsewhere.

Thankfully either way, my finger slipped when pressing the link to the Basket of Cicadas, and then again to press buy now, that I missed it.

I’ve still bought more this Woot-Off than last one, even if it was only a $0.54 purchase.

@dave - Started thinking about the financial logic of the pine cones. I’m pretty sure a 12 pack of toilet paper for $0.54 beats it.

I had gotten an email from UPS that my Bucket of Cicadas would be delivered May 2nd.

Looking highly doubtful.

As I was typing this, I looked at full details on UPS website instead of package tracking app.

There’s a big change that it WILL come in 2 days.

Edit: I decided that while the emoji interpretation pack which Meh uses is good for some emojis, for others I prefer what my Pixel uses (on stock software (without it being rooted and having emoji pack changed)).

On the other hand, almost any version of representation which they would use for emojis would get other people complaining.

I say most, because look at how something like a penguin or bird can be widely interpreted.

By Meh continuing to use the version which they are currently using, more people are hypothetically complaining.

@ruouttaurmind My reconditioned Amazon stuff from Woot has always looked new. Unless you read picture books you may find that you get used to the kindle screen size, plus you may notice a reduction in eye strain. It’s probably worth trying at least.
