I will say this though. I was having problems with charging my work ipad. Then realized in some old crap box there was a new ipad cord. Yes! Problem solved and it is a nice one. So every once in awhile a box comes in handy.
Is it just me, or is anyone else just not up to keep refrshing deals during woot-offs? I just don’t get enough entertainment value from it anymore. I just have to get lucky that I check it and something that I want is up.
I suppose some of you use an app for it, but I don’t even want to do that.
@mfladd My Woot app and the website were SO SLOW yesterday. The only thing that would update was the @wootoff Twitter feed. I manage to FINALLY score my first BOC by clicking on the Twitter link instead of waiting (and then the item would be sold out!)

@moonhat Staying logged in as per the Wootstalkerbot posts is paramount. Having to login upon checking out wastes precious seconds when demand is extremely high.
At first I was like, “Aw, I missed it, that’s a bummer.” look through all the items on the twitter feed
But then I was like, “Yeah, I didn’t miss anything.”
@narfcake 3 TB drives (woot link) have a proven higher failure rate than 2 or 4 TB drives (or 6 or 8, for that matter). I generally try and stay away from them. That said, I prefer the WD Elements line, and may have taken a shot at that price point as well.
Aside from that, the SD Card was a decent deal, despite being $7 and a generation behind (no UHS-1 support). Not bummed out I missed it, but I would have got some had I the opportunity.
@MagnaVis Desktop vs 2.5" drive, so not much of a direct correlation. I do appreciate the HDD reports the fine folks do behind the scenes at CatBlaze, though.
It’s all a crapshoot anyway, though I still trust WD over Seagate.

I personally don’t mind the 31 day policy, but it sets up a whole division with who can get it.
Based on the offering in January, people who got it Dec 25th were ineligible until February.
Those people then were ineligible to get it today (if they got one in February).
At the same time, people who got one in the January Woot-Off were eligible in February, and thus ineligible today (if they got one in February).
People who missed it in February were eligible today, and they are eligible next month.
Of course, these calculations are based on 31 days between Woot-Offs, with the obvious exception of February.

I’ll use myself as an example:
I got a BoC on December 25th.
The Woot-Off in January was on the 23rd.
This meant that I could not get one then (as a result of the new policy).
I got one in February, and because of the short month, I was ineligible to buy one yesterday.
I can get one next month though.
On the other hand…
If somebody DID NOT buy one the end of December/the beginning of January, they were able to purchase one during the January Woot-Off.
Then, they were eligible again in February, but not yesterday.
This could probably be understood better with the use of a spreadsheet.
I’ll whip one up now.

@moonhat The chart is server activity, and the blips are when a BOC comes up.
