@Fuzzalini Hmmm… So the “Song of the Century” was released when the century was 95% over. Does that sound right to you?
Regardless, my prior post was a joke. I don’t really have any strong feelings about the song, and I’m pretty sure msujp was actually referring to Mad Ape Den.
@Limewater EXACTLY. That was my feeling too. It was restricted to songs that made the charts in England. So, I’m thinking, uh, you had the Beatles, you know? It’s like those movies that win awards because they released it in December.
What?
@Fuzzalini It’s Mad Ape Den. Popular songs with the lyrics boiled down to three-letter (or fewer) words.
@PocketBrain Oh, I’m well aware. I was just repeating what Irk said at the end of the song. I thought it was funny.
I want to watch but I know Wonder Wall will be stuck in my head all day.
You’re missing Irk in a mock-turtleneck!
People actually like this shit?
@msujp I know, right? Even both of Liam and Noel Gallagher hate the song. It was really big in the nineties, though, for some reason.
@Limewater In the year 2000 it was voted song of the century by the Britons. Yeah. I like it, the whole album is great.
@msujp I love this shit.

@msujp I think its popularity was mostly because it could be played reasonably easily on a cheap acoustic guitar. Cf. “Wagon Wheel” as well.
My friend asked me if I knew the lyrics to Wonderwall. I said maybe…
There are many things that I
Would like to say to you but I don’t know how.
Any way, now be Awe-End-Of-The-Hut.
@aristan Yeah, that didn’t make any sense to me before the mad ape den translation.
That was the best of the lot.
