YES, I really need a humidifier here in Florida, where every day dawns with a temperature of 86°F and 95% RH, and it just goes downhill from there.
Is a plasma wave anything like a tsunami?
@hchavers And before everyone piles on, I know that square feet isn’t actually convertible to cubic feet. But that’s kind of my point. Square ft is a two dimensional measurement and sort of useless in determining how big a room this will cover. A 600 square ft room with 8 foot ceiling height?? A 600 square foot room with 12 ft ceiling height? 20 foot?
@hchavers@Trinityscrew CFM is what matters. The rule of thumb is most rooms need six air changes per hour. If your room has more than 3360 cu ft of space, this is too small. A 20’ x 21’ room with an 8’ ceiling (3360 cu ft) is the biggest room this can handle.
I’ve been toying with the idea of getting one of those UV light filters for the return air in my house? Does anybody have one and have opinions? I know I can pick one up on eBay for about $150.
@j37hr0 I had a UV light installed in my air duct to prevent mold. Paid around $ 350 including installation by the AC company, but evidently some who knows what they are doing (and I don’t) can install one themselves. Every couple of years the light burns out and has to be replaced.
Really happy with this unit thus far. Keeps our master br between 30-40% all the time. And we live in Vegas.
Only disappointment is that I see I could have saved $33 had I waited to buy on morning save. I never realized that the prices are cheaper sometimes on morningsave. I’ll stop impulse buying so much on Meh now.
Hey can I have some purified air?
Why sure… HEPA your self!
Yep. In classic Meh fashion, bringing us humidity just in time for the… humidity season. Hot dang!
@RedOak don’t worry… By the time Pitney Bowes delivers it summer and the humid air will be gone again.
OH MY GOD THEY GAVE GLEN A CAT SCAN!!!
@shahnm I love how Glen seems to be making a comeback recently.
All fake though. We all know that Glen was murdered by Irk. I don’t believe they’re real photos of Glen. They’ve been photoshopped.
jiminy christmas, just open a window you snowflakes
@mydrivec So let the AC out and all the COVID in?! That’s just crazy talk!
KuoH
@mydrivec yeah but we like in Vegas. It’s hot as hell and bone dry.
@mydrivec yeah but what if I, like, live in Beijing or something?
Do they even bother opening their windows in the megacities?
@mydrivec Ummm… Allergies.
@jayman007 @mydrivec opposite problem here… 90degrees but the air is so humid you can almost swim in it.
I want this but it’s about $100 too much. Come on it’s a bunch of injection molded plastic and a motor.

HEPA filter?
You got a smaller version of this I can wear as a face mask?
@phendrick
/image cleanspace full face papr
@awk @phendrick lol waiting to see one of those on meh. Would sell out right away.
Would probably be vmp only, too.
Sounds like it’s a fine air purifier but not a particularly good humidifier. I’d love a product that does both well, but I guess this isn’t it.
It’s a jukebox! Where’s the speaker dock?
@blaineg I thought it was an airfryer at first.
Where does one put the Candycorn in to airfry?
And more importantly, is airfrier or airfryer?
@OnionSoup Airfriar.
Yeah! I can finally stop wearing my breathing mask in a room. Hmm, which room is 600 sq. ft?
@hchavers 10 ft X 60 ft. Or 5 ft X 120 ft. Or 20 ft X 30 ft. etc… But of course all of these dimensions assume that the room is only one foot tall.
So a 8 ft X 9.5 ft room with an 8 foot ceiling would work out to roughly 600 sq. ft. Did I say room? I meant closet.

I’ll shut up now.

Plasmawave? Does that mean my air will come out in 4K?
@OnionSoup no, it goes out as a super heated, gaseous metal death beam.
is that ok?
@ekw sure, I’ll put it in the kids’ room.
The humidifier part looks very similar to the one on my furnace! (or I guess it also resembles a bunch of 45rpm records in a particular style of jukebox) https://www.dsepstoreus.com/collections/2019-2020-season/products/ds3200-m
The PlasmaWave thing sounds like an ozone generator. You do not want to breathe ozone regularly.

Ad states “no ozone”. Old Sharper units had ionizer to get particles to cling - probably that.
My air purifier did not get delivered even though they emailed it had.
