For some unknown reason both knees started aching about a week ago. And yesterday it feels like I pulled a thoracic muscle. Again, no discernible reason. When you’re old it just happens.
Because my spouse and kid like to get their real maple syrup the slower, more difficult, more expensive way and I’m the one that has to do the chain saw and ax work to supply them with firewood for the boiler.
@algae1221 But you need dried wood for fire, right?
If you are still sore from axe-blasting last year, then they call that an injury.
NOW who’s going to tap the maples, since you’re injured?
(Tryin to help ya, here.)
Cool hobby. I’d love to do it, except not enough maples, no equipment, cannot be bothered to watch temperatures as the stages boil down, not enough demand in family of HFCS robots, and too lazy.
@IWUJackson I have some of the Ye Olde Tyme street pavers - about 14"x4"x4". No mortar holes, fired kiln patina.
I just wish I had about 1000 more (I only have maybe 30 or so).
My hometown (Illin’ Noise) still has a few streets that they finally pulled the asphalt off of the bricks to let them collapse and destroy storm sewers (and the other flavor is sewer) naturally.
The bricks are beautiful, but the upkeep is a bit of a bear for serviceable streets. They worked back when fully-loaded apple delivery trucks weighed less than my small SUV, with only an Apple iPhone in it.
And, when they had brick kilns in every town, or at least every county.
@tinamarie1974 OK, I was just confused because I had pictured him as smaller than that (maybe I’m remembering his puppy pictures).
Here is my Aussie Shepherd mix, Ash (no skinny pup), who was 74 lbs at his last vet visit (banana for scale) -
@kuoh@ybmuG That video claims it will make me laugh, but I spent most of my time cringing instead.
I haven’t tried any of the current generation of VR, so I’m not really in any position to mock them, but it looks like way too many people are punching their TVs and stuff.
@kuoh@xobzoo it’s the “new humor” - other people that are dumber than I am are by definition funny. So long as I don’t one day see myself on one of those…
Slipped at Disneyland walking in the rain and found that the floor is just as hard at the happiest place on earth.
@airmo Ouch!
@airmo
@airmo I bet you were less happy after that…
@robson still sore with a bruised knee.
I am not sore right now.
@yakkoTDI Only because I unloaded your trunk for you.
Lifting heavy shit (probably incorrectly).

Who said I’m sore?
Long weekend of snowboarding
Just got back from walking 5 miles at the gym. Not really sore, but I am hungry after watching Food Network the whole time.
All of the above.
@NapkinEater Same
I’m sore because I got my cable bill and they went up. Again.
@phendrick But look at all the quality content they give you.

.
If you can find any.
@phendrick, people still have cable?
@kittykat9180 I’m a people, and I do.
What’s the alternative? Drop cable and watch over the internet? That’s the same cable company.
@phendrick, a streaming service for a fraction of the price.

@algae1221 also, Jewel/Safeway.
Because I’m cleaning and hauling bricks to reuse on the addition…

Because of all the running I do.
A gentleman never tells.
@OnionSoup So why are you keeping it a secret?
@yakkoTDI that’s a very good question…
I went bowling with one of my partners and days later I can feel all the muscles I never use being cranky.
My mattress is too firm and I’m old too.
Sleeping accident.
@brennyn Did you fall out of bed? (My poor little sister did once, as a kid - rolled off the top bunkbed.)
Root canal.
From carrying a roughly 60 lb dog to get in and out of the car, on and off the bed…etc.
@tinamarie1974 60 lbs!?! What does Charlie weigh without all the bling?
@macromeh only about 27 kgs
Also, that pupper is adorable
@tinamarie1974 OK, I was just confused because I had pictured him as smaller than that (maybe I’m remembering his puppy pictures).

@macromeh aaawww Ash is so handsome
Here is one of Charlie, no banana
@macromeh @tinamarie1974 And at your height (same as mine ) picking him up must almost tip you over!
@Kyeh @macromeh it is challenging for sure. Thank goodness he doesnt resist
@tinamarie1974 Poor guy - I hope his foot heals quickly.
Beat Saber injury.
KuoH
@kuoh
@ybmuG Luckily I’m not as extreme as these people.
