Don’t have friends locally, don’t have a TV - not interested in having one, too busy with other stuff. Never understood those pathetic people who party and socialize - what losers!
Our TV isn’t particularly big and we don’t have much of a social circle here. But… Those two friends we do have usually come here to watch things. So I’m sticking with “I do!”
We have the biggest tv in our group, a whopping 37". And we don’t have other people over to our house. It’s a cat thing…the cats don’t like company.
But if we were making money hand over fist like we were during the Clinton years (damn, business was fine), I’d get one of today’s offerings for my mother-in-law, even though the only channel she has it on is Faux Entertainment News.
Let’s be honest, the majority said ‘i hate watching tv in big groups’ but the reality is somewhere inbetween ‘i hate watching tv in big groups’ and ‘i never get invited/invite anyone’
This honestly doesn’t seem to happen much anymore. Even “givens” like the Super Bowl no longer seem to trigger watch parties among my social circle.
For some people, social media interaction like “live tweeting” during the event has replaced this experience, but I find that even more distracting than watching TV in a group.
I have a big tv but no friends

@PenguinOnTheRox I have this same problem.
People still do this? I haven’t had cable in many years. Maybe it’s my fault that I’m not included in tv party at night.

Dad. Mom would be happy with a little TV, but Dad just needs a screen big enough to divert airline traffic.
I don’t hate watching in groups. It’s just that we tend to do other things that you can’t easily do solo, like board games or conversation

@christinewas Even with Mark Sanchez as QB?
Do you want to kill me now or later? I know it is coming. But it was worth it.
@mfladd Last I heard, he wasn’t even the front runner for starting QB. And the future is… full of possibility.
But, pulling myself out of denial-ville for a moment… we have many players worth watching, no matter how terrible the QB situation might be.
@mfladd @christinewas I’ll be interested in comparing Jimmy G to Mark Sanchez after 4 weeks

I’ve got a projector and a nice sound system, but only an antenna - so it’s really only used for watching movies.
If there’s anything my friends want to watch live, it’s usually a sports event, so we just head to a bar.
I’m that guy with the TV house now thanks to Meh and my 65" TV from the original Kickstarter Fuko.
@snapster
Where is the “Don’t watch TV; have better things to do” option?

I’d like a TV that was big enough so I could read the print on the screen like scrolling warnings or news headlines and channel names or numbers.
