Who Are Your Top 3 HBO Characters?

This is of course very subjective but if your answer doesn’t include Larry David or Omar, your response is wrong.

It was more than three, but those masturbatory lesbians in that Real Sex episode made quite the impression on my young mind.
@therealjrn you owe everyone a star.
@elimanningface @therealjrn them or the septuagenarians masturbating on top of a mountain somewhere in a group setting from the same show…
@elimanningface @sicc574 Hmm…I don’t think they were that old. Real Sex Season 01, Episode 01, November 1990 It was a segment called “Sex for One” A masturbation class for women taught by Betty Dodson, Ph.D.
It’s Not TV, It’s HBO
Larry David? I guess if the list was the top 3 most annoying HBO characters. Larry David, Hannah Horvath and Bill Maher (not technically a character, but annoying AF).
@ruouttaurmind Larry David can be included on both lists.
@elimanningface Larry David: The guy you love to hate?
I haven’t seen that many HBO shows, I guess, but I loved nearly every character on Boardwalk Empire.
Three favorites were…
Michael Shannon - Nelson Van Alden
Michael Stuhlbarg - Arnold Rothstein
Gretchen Mol - Gillian Darmody
Note: minus the horrendous violence which always seemed so unnecessary. The only no-redeeming-qualities character on the show I can think of was Margaret’s son Teddy. (And OMG, William Forsythe as Manny Horvitz!! What a long road it was from Evelle in Raising Arizona, eh?)
@UncleVinny I fell in love with Gretchen Mol all over again while watching Boardwalk.
@ruouttaurmind she was incredible in that difficult role. Obviously a terrible, scheming, vindictive person – but with such a past, how could she not be? I had sympathy for her throughout, her tenacity and ingenuity were unreal.
Al Swearengen, Al Swearengen and motherfuckin’ Al Swearengen. And if you don’t know who Al Swearengen is, then you’d be a limp-dicked cocksucker.
@mtb002 I think Ian McShane’s Al Swearengen made Deadwood. It would have been bleak without him
@mtb002 Some of my favorite scenes are the ones between Swearengen and Keone Young’s Mr. Wu.
@rockblossom
Wu and Swedgin’: Hang Die
Bill Maher
John Oliver
Spawn
Honorable Mention: Dennis Miller
@JT954 you are incorrect.
Not sure of three, but Brother Justin Crowe would make it somewhere in there. Carnivàle was an odd little show.
@awilkey you too are incorrect.
I am brand new to watching HBO and have no doubt that all of you veteran watchers are probably correct. But mine are:
-Jesse Gemstone
-Barry
-Baby Billy Freeman
@sicc574 you three are incorrect.
I lost HBO last October when HBO and Dish broke up. Reading this topic, it’s becoming obvious that I may have missed a few new shows over the past year.
@ruouttaurmind not an excuse for not listing Larry David or Omar.
Hannah Horvath, Jessa Johanson, igrit
@moonhat you four are incorrect and these are made up characters. Shame.
Tony Soprano. . . or Silvio. . . or Paulie Walnuts . . .
NoHo Hank is in there too.
@jrwofuga you five are incorrect.
@elimanningface nah.
Scooby Doo, Dick Dastardly, and Huckleberry Hound
HBO is Hannah Barbera Olympics, right?
@ThomasF you six are incorrect but funny. Take a star.
@RiotDemon you seven are incorrect and might have an obsession with whomever that fellow is above.
@elimanningface @RiotDemon
Heh. Somebody always gotta act like they didn’t watch True Blood. Even if you didn’t watch the show, you know who that is.
@mtb002 @RiotDemon I’ve never seen True Blood but I feel pretty confident the show never featured the characters Larry David or Omar so…wrong eight. Also I think you might be overestimating the popularity of this actor or I am just clueless, haha. I know he isn’t him but he looks like Peter Petrelli from Heroes.

@elimanningface @RiotDemon
He’s pennywise’s brother.
@mtb002 @RiotDemon Stellan was in Thor.
@elimanningface @mtb002 I know who he is. He’s their dad.
@mtb002 @RiotDemon I don’t remember him having any children in the movie.

How about the 2016 Tarzan movie? Most of him was in that.
