I love the long days of summer, makes me sad when they get shorter and cooler bc winter is coming. I could definitely go south for the winter if I had the money but MI summers are the best.
Long Nights…I’m naturally a Night owl, worked 3rds for years… even now, working 1sts, going in @ 5, or 6 most mornings, I have trouble getting to sleep before midnight, and if I have a few days off up till 2-3 am is perfectly natural to me…
I’m a bit of a daywalker at this point…
I also like the Cold…
if Money was No object? I’d Winter in both North America, and Australia.
Nov-April up North, May-Oct Down under.
@earlyre I like that idea. Don’t think most people would go for it. I’d love to go to Australia in ´their Winter’. Though the 20 hr flight makes it less enticing.
@awk@blaineg Getting complicated now – are we adjusting mars hours or earth hours by earth hours or mars hours? Or should we just talk about something simpler, like religion or politics, or best dog breed?
I enjoy being outside in the daytime, don’t do much at night except watch TV and sleep. When I was younger, I was a night person, but no longer. Life is different now.
@olperfesser Same. But thinking about it, one of the main attractions of being out at night back then was that most of the older folks weren’t, so… yeah - circle of life I guess.
Long days. I have bad SAD. I’m a night owl, and sometimes in the winter I never see the sun for a day or three in a row, and it sucks, but I can never train myself out of it.
If I could get the long days, but without the 110° temperatures, that would be perfect
@TheGreatNico blame the goat for the 110°
@TheGreatNico move to Canada, Scandanavia, or Siberia. Just move back down for the winters.
Long days for sure. Hate finishing work for the day and it’s dark already.
@jsh139 ditto!
I should say long nights so I can drink my whiskies longer . . . but since I typically start in daytime, I suppose it doesn’t really matter
Hello darkness, my old friend…
@pcolachiller
I’ve come to talk with you again…
@Lynnerizer @pcolachiller
Because a vision softly creeping…
@Lynnerizer @pcolachiller @yakkoTDI
Left its seeds while I was sleeping…
@pcolachiller @werehatrack @yakkoTDI
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains.
@pcolachiller
Long days. Not much I do at night that I can’t do during the daytime. The reverse is not true.
I’ve discovered in my 40s that I’m solar powered. I’ll take the long days and be unstoppable.
Long days because I ride bicycle for fun and don’t sleep very long.
Long nights. Oh right, I just clicked that up there.
Neither. I prefer a nice balance. But I loathe tropical weather.
@werehatrack But, you HAVE to choose days or nights; those were the only options allowed by our very meh poll maker-upper.
Long days mean summer, and I loathe summer, so I’ll take long nights.
I don’t go outside much. so why should it matter?
@rtjhnstn Me either, but the longer days are better for my mental health.

Can we just add a couple hours to each?
@awk Yeah, but they’d have to be shorter, to make it all work out OK.
@awk @phendrick Not if you move to another planet. Days could be longer or shorter than 24 hours.
A Mars Sol is 24 h 37 m & change.

@macromeh @olperfesser It’s weird being the same age as old people.

SW TX. So: nights. Cooler.
Not a fan of the heat, ultraviolet light and the sun burns that come long days.
