Verizon. I did use T-Mobile, but I couldn't get coverage even at home. I'm considering switching back if their towers improve in this area some, just for I can save more money.
@juststephen I once moved to Verizon from T-Mo too. However, T-Mo is getting better fast. They rent a phone for free for you to test their coverage. You might want to check that out.
Yeah. I don't want to have $600 held from my bank account, though for the duration of the test period. I currently have an S4 from Verizon that wouldn't work with all of T-Mobile's bands, so I'm kinda in a tight spot if I don't want to buy a phone. (I'd buy something used, anyway, but still, I don't want to spend that money yet when my phone works perfectly well)
Net 10 which uses which ever one of the big three is available. 10cents a minute voice, 5 cents text. Or you can buy a monthly card. I get a $30 which gets me 2 months and 300 min. Usually have time left over. But also have a landline.
My husband and I switched to Republic Wireless. He has the $10 plan (unlimited talk & text, wifi data) and I have the $25 plan which includes 3G data. They also have a $40 4G lte plan but I don't need that at this point. I was leery of switching to them and researched it for months before making the leap since you have to use the phones they offer (Motorolla) but we've been really happy with it.
@PurplePawprints We use Republic company wide - never been so happy in all my life. Our monthly bill for the company dropped from over $3200 a month to $500 plus taxes and fees (unlimited talk and text, Wi-Fi data). I will never look back. The savings are being banked for our employees to vote on what to do with the money we've saved - so far, buying our own tavern is in the lead. I think that's a lofty goal, but hey, they dream big around here. Maybe just a buy-in.
@PurplePawprints I've been looking to get the $99 phone & $10 plan for one of my kids once we are ready for him to have a smart phone. Can't see adding another to our verizon account. Glad to see a couple others happy with it. Frankly we pay about $14 a month for a non-smart phone on verizon currently - so when I switch him we'll save money.
@ilovereality It takes some adjustment in how you use certain apps to make it on the $10 plan - but once you get used to it and especially if you are in a larger metro area blanketed by WiFi you already have access to (like via your cable Internet having built hotspots all over town) - it is an easy adjustment to save the money. A lot of people use a Boingo account for nationwide wi-fi access while using Republic. And, for people that just can't get the hang of it, the $25 unlimited everything plan is the best deal in wireless.
@PurplePawprints My wife and 2 of my kids are on Republic. $25, $25 and $10 plans. It's a bit costly up front since they only offer a couple phone options but it works fairly well for them.
I had been with AT&T, its predecessors and descendent (Mobile 1, Cellular 1, AT&T, Cingular) for 18 years before switching to T-Mobile 10 years ago. From 1987 until 2005 AT&T treated me like royalty, but when Cingular took over the customer service took a loose, smelly dump, so I moved over to T-Mobile. At first service was somewhat lacking and I suffered from weak signal and lack of coverage, but things improved. I have always hated T-Mobile's somewhat lame equipment offerings, so I always used my own world phones (my favorite device was my Nokia N900) and I currently rock a Windows phone - a Nokia Lumia 925. My point is, there is nice hardware out there for those that are willing to look for it. I'm grandfathered in to a rate plan from 10 years ago that gives me unlimited high speed data, voice and texts. In the NYC market T-Mobile has what I believe to be the best rate plan/service balance.
Switched from VZW to T-mobile about 18 months ago. It's been good here in Seattle, and their free international roaming was awesomely useful when I traveled to Zambia last year.
Verizon since the early 90's - have 5 phones on it at the moment. 3 with unlimited data (which is why we won't likely be changing any time soon - I'm a data hog on my Jailbroken phone - shhh). But as mentioned above - the 5th isn't on a data plan and I think I may switch him to Republic Wireless which with the $10 plan will be cheaper than what we pay for his non-data plan right now.
Been with Sprint for over 17 years and hate almost every minute of it. Unlimited data is meaningless when you can't even get a decent mobile connection, 3G or 4G. My contract with them ended, so I am planning to switch to Verizon when the newest model Android phones come out soon. They seem to have the best service where I live, but I am sure I won't be happy about the higher price, even with a company discount.
AT&T and all their predecessors (Comcast/Cellular 1/AT&T/Cingular). Been totally happy with them. I get 22% off through work. I've been on several vacations with my Verizon loving friends who have had no signal and have had to use my phone. I've always had a signal when others don't. Once at a ski resort there were signs all over that said, "Sponsored by Sprint." People using Sprint couldn't get a signal and used my phone. Not one complaint from me about AT&T.
I work for a smaller carrier so it's only natural I use our service. I don't think I'm allowed to say who it is though... Well actually I don't know why I wouldn't be allowed to since I can do just that not on the Internet... Damnit I'm over thinking this. But then again saying my place of employment on the Internet seems like a bad idea. Sooooo too bad for you guys.
AT&T. We pay $60 a month for two dumb phones (although we can access the internet) and unlimited talk and text, 300MB of data per month, which I don't come close to using. I wouldn't mind having a smartphone, but it would be more of a toy than a necessity and toys really aren't in the budget at this time.
Since we spend 98% of our time at home, there's no reason for more. That 2% we're not home, I usually only use the data when we're driving somewhere or waiting in line for a movie.
The hubs can't even access text messages on his phone, I have to do it for him. He's not tech savvy at all.
Currently with Sprint, because Verizon CS it horrible. The best carrier I've ever had for price and CS was T-Mobile, but I don't get decent coverage here.
Freedompop. They give you 100% free 4G LTE data up to 500mb every month, which is more than enough for VoIP calls and messaging. So yeah, I have free phone service.
Airvoice Wireless, an AT&T Prepaid MVNO. Using the $10 250 minute, 500 text plan because it's almost all text for personal. Use T Mobile wireless data for travel because coverage and price has improved (though no coverage at all at home - but wifi.)

AT&T, mostly because they used to be one of the only two carriers that had GSM phones and I travel overseas a lot.

AT&T because inertia and T-Mobile coverage isn't that great. I will be checking T-Mobile out again at some time.
currently using Ringplus(sprint mnvo) 9.99 plan (400 mins 400 texts 300mbs of data) with a $28 used evo 4g lte
my brother is using h20 wireless's(at&t mvno) $30 unlimited talk and text and 500mbs of data
my mom is on ultra mobiles(tmobile mnvo) $19 unlmited talk text and calling to 10 international countries
my dad is on platinium tels(tmobile mnvo) 5cents per min prepaid plan
Foreign provider called Telia here in Denmark.

@Pavlov Sounds like your office loves to have fun!

Cricket! It's att but super cheap. And now they have a 20GB plan...
@munboy I used Aio(cricket) once but the latency was horrible. It might be just me though.
@munboy I would love to switch to cricket but those sneaky att bastages only let you use handset hotspot on the att branded service. :(
@munboy Love Cricket too! Even better now that I get 2.5 GB of high speed data. Can't beat $100 for 4 people's smartphones.
Verizon. I don't have any other choice where I live.
T-Mobile all the way! Through thick and thin.
I had been with AT&T, its predecessors and descendent (Mobile 1, Cellular 1, AT&T, Cingular) for 18 years before switching to T-Mobile 10 years ago. Verizon since before it was Verizon. Needed coverage across the whole U.S. - and still do. :)
foreign carrier named virgin, like the plane.
@ILikePie15 Virgin mobile in the usa is really owned by Sprint. But it is good to see marketing still works!
Freedompop mobile all the way.
On AT&T right now, but in November I will be finding another provider unless they start matching the other carriers' lower prices.

@heartny I feel ya. Was on Virgin Mobile for a while, and they use Sprint towers. Coverage was horrible, but it was cheap.
T-Mobile since 2003. They work great if you are a city person.
AT&T and all their predecessors (Comcast/Cellular 1/AT&T/Cingular). Been totally happy with them. I get 22% off through work. AT&T My wife and I split a plan with my parents so no one has a huge bill since we all have iPhones.
I work for a smaller carrier so it's only natural I use our service. I don't think I'm allowed to say who it is though... Well actually I don't know why I wouldn't be allowed to since I can do just that not on the Internet... Damnit I'm over thinking this. @JonT I'm pretty sure this is a passive-aggressive request for the ability to post polls. ;-)
AT&T. Inertia and the fact that every time I'm ready to drop them, they see it coming and hit me with some new perk.
I was actually pretty happy with Verizon, but when the kid and I dumped our Treos for iPhones, Verizon didn't support them.
Freedompop. They give you 100% free 4G LTE data up to 500mb every month, which is more than enough for VoIP calls and messaging. So yeah, I have free phone service.
@on Did you buy it from woot?
@on You get 500mb more for a total of 1GB free 4G LTE if you add just ten freedompop friends (50mb per friend up to 500mb max).
Straight Talk. I'm on the Verizon network cause that's what my iphone was before I switched and I feel like my 4 year old phone is perfectly fine...
Lycamobile

None. I can't stand wearing a leash.
